Sorry if this has been posted already and I missed it.

HOT LIST: Sunday, April 15
(Series Premiere) DRIVE (Fox, 8/7c)
Nathan Fillion takes the driver's seat for this high-octane guilty pleasure about a group of strangers lured into a "Cannonball Run" gone wild.

CRUSHES
With an alluring mix of boy-next-door good looks, acting chops and a devilish sense of humor, Nathan Fillion has always left us wanting more. The 36 year old Canadian-born actor first caught our eye as Joey Buchanan on ONE LIFE TO LIVE, before becoming a cult favorite as Capt. Mal Reynolds in Fox's short-lived 2002 sci-fi Western, FIREFLY. Along the way, he racked up a resume of guest spots on MISS MATCH (with Alicia Silverstone), TWO GUYS AND A GIRL (with and without the PIZZA PLACE) and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER, along with "SAVING PRIVATE RYAN" and the 2005 feature-film follow-up to FIREFLY, "SERENITY". Most recently, he broke hearts on LOST, playing Kate's jilted husband, Kevin. This spring, he's romancing Keri Russell in the indie film "WAITRESS", and tonight the underused actor is back in the driver's seat as the lead of Fox's new high-speed drama DRIVE (8/7c). He plays a down-to-earth landscaper who joins a mysterious cross-county road race in order to win back his kidnapped wife, but if you ask us, the charismatic Fillion is the real prize here. ---Karen Andzejewicz

When I read the thing, my first thought was , and my second thought was "Well, DUH!!!"

Found it odd she didn't mention SLITHER, though.

That's what I thought also! I was at Blockbuster the other day and saw Slither on the rack - rented it even though I own it.

Just tryin' to keep the Captn' employed. The man's got "stayin" power.

There's also a full-page ad on Pg. 63, but there's no Nathan. It's a woman's eyes, and I honestly can't tell if it's Amy Acker or not.

If it helps you find it, the cover is David Caruso! I can SO see why they chose him over Nathan for the cover!!

Not entirely. I'm sorta hoping that the description is totally off base. How exactly could a person end up in a car race to save your kidnapped wife? It sounds insanely unrealistic. Plus how long could a show like that last. "oh he still hasn't caught up yet but he's still driving down the highway. I hear next season it will be more driving and not getting his wife back." After a few years he'll run through a small fortune in gas costs and have to give up.

Zeek: I kind of think that if the show does well and gets more seasons, the original premise would have to change somewhat. Presumably, the race will be finished by the end of the first season, and it's an unbelievably huge cast. I can't imagine the producers expect it to stay that way in future seasons, should it happen. I would think they would drop some of the cast, the recurring ones and/or the ones that just don't work, for whatever reason. Then, with the smaller group, the focus would be on their lives and what, well, drive's them.

Here's the slightly sick part...Fox admitted that Nathan was the primary draw for Drive and they admitted that one of the factors in having him " star" is that he came with a ready built fan base....YEAH one you ignored, treated like crap, and cancelled the show we were fans of!!!

Yeah, I had a feeling that might've been the case, and I agree...to a point. It's not just 'slightly' sick. It's full-on, in-your-face sick!!!

Exactly what I felt when I read that CBS is creating a show about a 'vampire detective in love with a mortal woman'. Maybe it'll be nothing like ANGEL, but knowing that this show will exist after what happened to ANGEL and the emotional devastation I experienced (and still experience) when it was cancelled too soon... it's just a little much, ya know?
