Howdy, Browncoats!

Just spreading the signal on behalf of the Firefly Fans LJ. Despite the fact that it's just another silly poll, we can't let Jewel be beat by "Friends" B-girl Jennifer Anniston!

Jewel is only in the lead by ten votes as of this writing. Browncoats, mobilize!

Well, one could wait for the next round (assuming Jewel wins) OR...

I've analyzed the traffic logs on my IDS/IPS/sniffer sensor and it appears that the site utilizes a combination of both IP address and cookies to track your votes.

Clearing the browser's cookies or utilizing another browser has no effect BUT simply accessing the website from a different IP address allows one to access the website and vote again.

Using TOR I've accessed the site several times, regenerating the route over the onion routing network each time to acquire a new IP address and it seems to work fine; the same can be said using a simple web-based CGI proxy.

S0 - either release and renew the IP address of your 'puter or use a proxy of some type and you should have no problem voting again.

Ethical? Perhaps not - but then again, you can't stop the signal...
