Buy this book with Firefly: The Official Companion: Volume Two by Joss Whedon today!

The Companion book is supposed to be released May 8, 2007 but remember how some venues got it early. I've got one ordered from Barnes and Noble Store, one from Books-A-Million store. Need another. Christmas presents etc. I'll keep the one that gets to me first.

that's great that there's a market for that. Even those who don't play should support Greg and buy it!

Just kidding, but I would love to see a contest of who can do the best version of the "Ballad of Serenity." ... Any takers????

:-)

Don't kidd. This can be used to recruit. Even if you don't play, you could buy one for a friend, library or anyplace that has a piano/guitar where people play. Hmmm, like a music store piano could play Firefly music as people walk buy. Hey, don't I know that tune. Or what is that cool music from? A TV show? Never heard of it. Nice spaceship on the cover. Isn't that Nathan Fillion from Drive/Waitress, etc? Maybe I'll check it out. There is a movie too!!!

Got to put a copy of this in the Guerrall Marketing forum.

Awintory, if you get your concert thing going, Greg could sign copies of his book at the concert.

Did you know that Buffy the Vampire Slayer episode Once More with Feeling is being screened around the country on theaters with people singing and such stuff.

There is a market for this.

Hey anonymous1(!),

Yeah merchandise like this book for Greg to sign, as well as his CD, David Newman and his CD, et al are in the plan. In addition having as many stars / Joss as can make it there to sign posters / DVD's (like the forthcoming 2-disc Serenity special edition).

And yes, I would love to include a live performance of some of the material from "Once More With Feeling." Especially the hilarious Anya/Xander material. I'll have to speak with Chris Beck about what this would take. It'd be especially fun to get the actual actors to come and do it ....

Keep me posted if you hear about particular performances so I can contact those organizers. I know there's a massive Whedon underground, they just need to be made aware!

Thanks for all your support!

Oh also, I think this piano book is great, but for what it's worth I think that the CD is better than this as far as drawing people in.

The instrumental color is a huge part of what made this all so unique. All the solo fiddling, the chinese flutes, the celtic music, etc etc. A piano doesn't even close to capture the brilliance of his decisions in that way ...

My two cents, of course, being a composer ...

As Bill Pardy would say "Yep".

The Internet community is spread out all over. But people do crossovers or crossposts. So sad when I read stuff like...there was a Serenity screening in my area...if only I would have read this post last week.

The way underground group is even harder to find. I think there are tons of people who saw Firefly but don't know there is a Firefly DVD or that the movie Serenity even got made. Then there is the group who saw the movie but don't know there was a TV show. Then there is this real large group of people who saw neither but would have loved it.

I'm hoping Drive and Waitress hit it big and people check out the rest of Nathan's work.

More Browncoats!!!!

I've read posts of people who leave the CD of Firefly or Serenity playing in their house and have recruited Browncoats that way.

Or how about the Ariel Ambulance. Jewel (Kaylee) has already signed it. Great giant prop to have at an event. http://www.arielambulance.org/

The Ariel Ambulance may be going to visit the Browncoat Cruise and show up at some charity Serenity screenings this year.
