My bad. I love the verse but translating mandarin would only showoff my lazy side. If Mary Parent has moved on then you can write to media productions at the same address. believe it or not I've watched SERENITY 9 times but only watched it with josh wheaton cmentary last night gives A cool perspective on simple shots we take for granted while we watch but not so simple after all. More chairs, Semiramis!

bun: Sorry. My bad. Y'all dig in and
slurp 'em up. We'll figure out a way for
you to sit, eventually.

out2theblack, I'd love to share your redtail
story with some folk in the SF Bay Area who
are into raptors, Falcons in particular, and
are currently watching this year's Peregrine Falcon nesting.

Share away , bun !
I'm into the raptors , also ! Occasionally , I see Kestrels , frequently Ospreys , and know where some redtails hunt...Spotted a Bald Eagle nest while airborne recently . Plan to photograph it this spring...

The raptors show the sailplane pilots where there is good lift...I wonder now if it also works the other way 'round...We have at times seen these birds join a thermal where there's a gaggle of sailplanes already circling...

I've got an Osprey story , too . For another time ...

Never gathered that you were in SFO area...Used to live in Vacaville , back when there was a glider field there...Have friends in Calistoga and at other sites in NorCal and Nevada...

Did you see 'Zodiac' ? Brought back some memories of old times , despite the fact it was also morbid and creepifyin' . Good film . Longish , but fascinating .

I'm rather South of the Bay Area, but have
history, family, and very good friends there.
One of the biggest treats on the Net the last
two years has been the Falcon cam (funded by
PG&E!!) which watched the high-ledge scrape of
George and Gracie, a pair which has produced
several young.
There's a big group of human observers who work
and/or lunch in SF's urban canyons and post at
a Yahoo! site.
This year our G & G have decided to set up their
scrape inside the structure of the Bay Bridge,
where no camera can be placed. Some of the
Falcon nuts got into kayaks and went to look,
nearly getting run over by Bay boat traffic.
If birds and people all survive, it'll be fun,
even without the cam.

Am waiting to see "Zodiac." That will bring back
a lot of memories, for sure. Creepy.

Whoa...

Good story...I've heard of those two...

I used to watch a cam that was in NYC...

One of the best glider pilots is a falconer also...

Fascinating stuff...I'm really going to go to 'falcon camp' one of these days...

When you get to see Zodiac , check out the Transamerica building time-lapse...It's great...

A lot of SFO in films lately...The 'Happyness' film with Will Smith , also...

zerokiryu!!!!!!!!
Welcome home!!!!!!!!
You're #25791 aboard our shiny ship and if
you're of a mind to help out in the galley
we'll be right pleased to get you an apron.
Brought your own knives, did you?

How exciting this is. First post.
My first post (not here) I was completely
ignored. Then (same board) a couple of
days later I was flamed beyond belief.
Neither of these things should happen to a
new member, so we here try to spot the
newbs and put up a nice warm browncoaty
greeting.

Somewhere around here is a nice lady named
FollowMal who will offer you a virtual
browncoat if she notices you. And there's
DonCoat, who has a supply of already-loved
coats, just as good, with histories...

Me, I point all arriving personnel toward
the strawberries we try to keep on hand at
all times. Right over there. And beside
them is a jug of Mudder's Milk, the virtual
no-hangover kind.

Then we go up to the galley to question the
buffet and check out the ice-planets in the
cooler.

Please don't step on ShipsCat or into her
dish. She'll help you with scraps if you're
doing fish-flavored protein-molding.

We'll light a few candles for your culinary
school application, too. Let us know what
happens.

Thank you for the warm welcome.

Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, strawberries.

I did bring my own knives and I'm happy to help.

I guess I should explain my name, it's kinda wierd.

I had been using zero for awhile, and added kiryu when I read "Vampire Knight".

I liked his gun.

I'll let you know when I get my letters.

Welcome home, Shukes! Strawberries right over
here by the weight bench and the crate of Milk.

And then upstairs to the galley.

Last year we held a crush -- wild party -- and
mangled a large number of hodgeberries, whose
juice we put to ferment right on the ship.
We are needing personnel to help bottle the
stuff -- would you like to volunteer?

[bold]zerokiryu,[/bold]I have to ask if you were
inspired by Anthony Bourdain. I hear there is an
increase in the number of aspiring chefs since
Mad Tony made his debut.

still keeping those candles lit for you...

Not really, I've just always liked to cook.

I was so excited when I got to meet Jacques Peppin a few years ago.

I mostly like to bake, so I brought a protein cake with chocolatey-tasting frosting.

enjoy.

STRAWBERRYLOVER

Another noob here!

I just discovered the world of Firefly this past month. I fell in love fast and I haven't been able to stop watching the show. I've probably watched every episode at least three times -- some, like Jaynestown and Ariel, probably six or seven times by now.

IMO, it's probably the best show I've ever seen. The writing just sparkles with soul and wit and the characters feel so real. Joss Whedon is some kind of genius.

So, a little about me.

Age - 24
Lives in - South Carolina
Married and kids - No and no
Found Firefly/Serenity? - About a month ago. I'm a late-comer, but I'm now a loyal browncoat!
StrawberryLover? What’s that name about? - Well, my first pick for a name was "Bendy," after my favorite quote in the show. But Bendy turned out to be taken, so StrawberryLover it is. I love all the characters, but Kaylee is so adorable and reminds me of one of my best friends.
Works for? - A newspaper
Looks like - Um... a 24-year-old Asian chick? www.myspace.com/sheirna for anyone who's curious.
Aims in life - Win the Pulitzer. Meet Joss Whedon and the cast of Firefly. See Firefly get picked up again, hopefully by Sci-Fi or another network other than F*X that knows a good show when they see one.

^^ Could you just imagine having Battlestar Galactica and Firefly back to back on Friday nights? Omg, that would be my must-see TV night.

Oh yeah, my favorite characters are probably Jayne and Mal. Jayne has some of the best lines in the show and Mal... Mal as a character is so complex and beautiful that you can't help but be drawn to him.

so he doesn't object too much.

Zero, definitely a high grade for this cake!

StrawberryLover, have a slice of this yummy
thing and lets put some of these berries
over it. Ahhh. Yesss.
And the Milk. Always a gulp of the Milk.

you here among us.

Fie, I say.

Save that letter, dear zerokiryu. When you
are famous you can show it to people and
laugh at what fools they were at that
school.

BROWNCOAT2007

Hullo folks!!! Had an older profile, forgot the password and email address for it =( It feels good to be back in the uniform *snuggles into his duster*

Well.... lets see, info sharing time I guess

I am a 19 year old male college student, who happened to run across Firefly while it was on the air =)

Got totally addicted to the series, had a full collection of Firefly series on VHS (taped the show, don'tcha know)

Parents bought me the boxed DVD set for christmas the year it came out

Went to Serenity in theatres with my Pa on opening night, then went again later in the week with him (my first conversion )

Have seen Serenity in theatres about 7 or 8 times all told

Bought the Serenity DVD the day it came out and am planning on getting the Special Edition soonish

Still need to get my hands on some shiney Firefly merch (posters, the "Those left behind" graphic novel, and most definatly need the soundtracks, only problem is, no one near my home town carries the stuff )

Now in the process of trying to convert most of my dorm floor and that about sums it up

Thank you all for the support.*Tear*

But I'm not gonna let it get me down!!

Enough with depressing news.

What creeps everyone out the most.

For me it's any film by Takashi Miike.

So far 2 of his movies contain at least 1 dead fetus, and I've only seen 3 of his films.

But the movies are SO COOL, yet very, very creepy.

Oh well, at least my fingers aren't as sore from patching up the holes and tatters.
