I recently have been watching a few other programs and movies that happen to star our Big Damn Heros. They have appeared in a number of shows, and some of them are pretty good. So, I thought I would write a few short reviews for a few of the shows. Feel free to add your own reviews of other shows, or these shows.

Wonderfalls
Jewel Staite shows up in a few episodes later in the series but actually was never aired on TV originally. This show in many ways parallels Firefly. It was showed on Fox, but only 4 episodes ever aired. Tim Minear was the executive producer and also wrote a few episodes of the show. It has a theme song, that at first I didn’t get, but now can’t help but singing along. Just like the theme to Firefly, I didn’t get it right away, now I can’t help but sing along. This show is one of the funniest TV shows I have watched in a long time. I bought DVD set and couldn’t stop laughing. Jewel does an amazing job later in the series, but you will get hooked in just the first few episodes. Once again showing that Fox really has very little taste or understanding for the really great shows. I highly recommend this show, especially if you are looking for a good funny TV show to watch. You can find the DVD Set at Amazon.com.

4400
Summer Glau makes an appearance in the second season of the show, playing a mental patient. The show itself is quite good, and is based around the idea of 4400 people who were abducted during the span of 50 years and then were all returned at once. I watched the entire first and second season and quite enjoyed the show. Summer does a great job in her role in the second season; she also reappears in season 3. Season 1 and 2 are available on DVD, season 3 should be replaying on the USA Network, and season 3 should be available on DVD in May. I recommend giving the first season a shot, it is only 5 episodes but will give you a good taste of the show. Season 4 will be starting over the summer. Season 1 and 2 are available on DVD on Amazon.com and the Official Website: http://www.usanetwork.com/series/the4400/

Slither
Nathan Fillion stars in this movie and plays the role of a local sheriff. This movie as a whole was not very good, but for a “zombie” movie it wasn’t half bad. Nathan does manage to save the movie, and if you watch it you can see a little hint of the Mal showing up in his character. The movie centers on a little town that gets infected by little worms that basically turn people into zombies. For a zombie movie it is pretty funny and worth watching, thankfully it does not take itself too seriously. If you like zombie movies I highly recommend renting this one, but I would not run out to buy it.

I know our BDH have appeared in a number of other shows and movies since Firefly and Serenity, so please feel free to write your reviews and recommendations here.

If you are a Nathan Fillion fan, I recommend you run right out now and buy the DVD. He is great in the movie and the movie gets better every time you watch it. First time, I was too scared about what was going to happen next that I missed a whole lot of the funny--especially the Nathan funny.

Packed with DVD extras and Nathan in almost every single extra. And you will learn why Nathan fans think "I'm Bill Pardy" is such a funny saying.

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Doesn't Alan Tudyk have a movie coming up? 3:10 to Yuma, which is a remake, and IMDB says it's set to come out sometime this year.

Adam Baldwin is in Daybreak, which was cancelled, but has Internet episodes on ABC.

Summer also had a recurring guest spot on The Unit.

Anybody else want to look:

go to http://imdb.com and search for actors' name or Firefly or Serenity and click on actor and it will show you want they have done and what they have in the works.

Thanks for the list of all their other projects. I'll definitely have to take a look at some of them. I actually checked out IMDB.com and that was how I found that Jewel was in Wonerfalls. Next on my personal list is the Unit, but now I will have to go back and watch Slither again for extras. Anyone seen enough of these other shows to write a short review for them?

I loved Wonderfalls, own it on DVD.

I ran right out and saw Slither at the theater, but waited to get the DVD for Xmas rather than buying it myself. I like it more now than the first time. Although something has to be said about seeing Nathan on the big screen no matter what the movie is.

I saw only the pilot of Daybreak, and wasn't impressed. Adam was wasted.

I saw Summer's ep. of The 4400. I thought it was a good show, but not something I could get into.

I've still never seen Gina's show, if it's even still on.

Looking forward to Nathan in Drive. Love Tim Minear, too, so I hope if the show itself doesn't hold my interest, he'll at least make sure there's snarky goodness for Nathan. He's good at that!

Wonderfalls is a fantastic show. I watched Slither again and will change my opinion from before. If you are a Nathan Fan it is a definite buy on DVD. I just found out that Summer was in the 4400, but I didn't know where she appeared in the show. So, I watched it from Season 1, and I think it is really one of those shows that you need to watch it from the beginning to get into it. It is a lot like Firefly where much of the focus of the show is actually on character and relationship development. I still recommend trying season 1, with only 5 episodes and for $12 on amazon I think it is a worthy investment.

LOL I was gonna come back and bet that you'd do that.

My husband and I went to see this in the theater and laughed and enjoyed it immensely, and when it came out on video knew we just had to have it. Besides being a Appreciatin' Nathan crew member, I'd already heard about many of the extras, and knew why the extra "I'm Bill Pardy" is so very worth owning.
