I just got off the phone with Magdalena from Australia!

I sent her a Christmas gift/Firefly care package the first week of December and she FINALLY got it! They sure are strict in customs.

She has a wonderful Aussie accent...I could listen to her all day!

She's hoping to get on the computer more soon...she misses all her FFF.net friends.

Nice Australia, I like Austrailia - they have puggles there. And alot of really cool people live there. In my books anyone from Austrailia is cool untill proven otherwise.

Too bad about the customs delay tho - but a firefly care package would be worth the wait.

Australian accents are the best! I agree I could listen to an Australian girl speak all day.

That package took over 2 months!!!

If you go by freighter it usually only takes about 3 weeks. Must have been some hang up someplace. Unless you included grenades in that care package.

Hi Penguin
What is it with the Australian accent ? I spent 20 years in the Royal Australian Air Force and met 100s of US servicemen & women - every single one of them was a credit to themselves and their country. Whenever we'd have a few drinks (as you do), it invariably included numerous requests to say "G'day" or "fair dinkum". Though for some reason any talk about buying a carton of XXXX was often met with a lot of laughter. Never figured out what was so funny about a carton of beer.

Personally I love the Scottish accent, especially from young kids - its brilliant to listen to.

I agree. Australian accents are the best. Especially when you are one.
‘Horary for me!’

The customs thing in Australia is a little stricter over here because were not connected to any major continent. Because were surrounded by sea, our ecological system is a risk from bugs, etc. Just think of the late Steve Irwin. ‘Conservation’.
BTW as far as I can tell… no-one ‘ever’ speaks like Steve Irwin! Ever!

Customs had some problems with the marshmallow creme I sent her. I'll have to remember not to wrap every single item in the package next time!

I was more concerned about the Baileys...they didn't seem to mind that...

See, that is very odd, because I also sent her marshmallow creme, along with graham crackers and hershy's hugs, and it got to her in good time.
Are you sure it was the marshmallow creme?

I'd sure like to see Magda around more.I think her father is hogging the computer.Maybe she could find some way of distracting him. Or maybe someone could start a fund raiser to get her a laptop.

As for the Marshmallow Fluff,I imagine it has all sorts of nefarious uses we don't even know about!

She'll be back to housesitting away from the computer hog in a couple days
I really don't get how he can tell her she shouldn't be on the computer all the time, and yet she has to get off the moment he gets home. Stupid.

I know PR I am counting the days.

Penguin maybe it's the location you send the package from. I sent Magda a present a few weeks after Christmas and it still isn't there...argh!

It's not that it's beer you're after, it's the fact that it's XXXX. Had it been Coopers you were after, they wouldn't have laughed.

MAGDALENA

"No power in the 'verse can stop me!"

Hey... I get to pop in and look - someone called Penguin from Australia...

Oh!! That was me!!

By the way, my dearest Penguin, Everything was so carefully opened and resealed - it was difficult to tell where they had opened all the little gifts!!

And I forgot that Rose's marshmallow cream got through - that was funny since it was declared on the box... they didn't even check it at customs...

Mind you - the Baileys arrived safe and sound and is in my fridge!! Thank you again my wonderful Penguin friend - it was such fun to talk with you and put a voice to the person!!

And my gorgeous LittleAlbatross - I haven't forgotten you - I just keep missing the window of opportunity that you have to talk properly!! You never know when that phone will ring!!

I meant to take a photo of it all coz I had some requests to see things in my Christmas box!! You should have seen me opening it - I felt like a kid on Christmas morning all over again!!

Thank you again, sweet Penguin!!
