If the the series is finito and there are no current plans to continuing the series, why is Universal hyping it on their UHD channel? What I mean to say is, I see Firefly commercials almost as often as I see BSG commercials... and BSG is still on the air.

Also, I've seen more activity concerning Firefly recently. Some of it is obviously started by fans but other stuff... not so sure where it is originating from (above paragraph for example) and what is motivating it.

I check here once a week to see if there is anything new but have been disappointed each time. Oh well, at least I get to watch Firefly in HD for the time being.

This sort of thing kinda bums me out too. I mean it's great that they're hyping up Firefly and all, but then it's also just a reminder to all of us how we haven't really seen a whole lot of progress to getting it back on the air. It really just isn't fair that we only got one season of Firefly and really crappy shows get like at least three. Oh, and also the fact that horrible movies like "Saw" get TWO sequels and there's a new movie with a trite, tedious, overdone storyline coming out every week! Sorry if that got a bit off-topic, but I'm just feeling sorta pissed. Why can't people just recognize something when it's good, and not be so closed-minded to think that different things can't do well?

I noticed the adds while at a friends house who has Universal HD. I thought it was pretty shiny. Hopefully it will bring new folks to the fold. As to why, perhaps the prog. director is a browncoat and conducting there own hyper-liminal marketing.

Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, but it might also be that they want their money's worth for a show that's airing in HD (that's not cheap), and thus the commercials.
But agreed, it's shiny. New folk might show up. It's definetly a step in the right direction getting hype like this anyways.

This is my point exactly. I really enjoy Firefly, so dont misunderstand me on this, this is my business side speaking:

I dont know how much it cost them to remake it in HD, but I am sure it wasnt free. Also, they are taking a spot off their HD channel (which is a paid channel meaning fewer viewers), which could be used for something that is still on the air.

Dont want to jinx the situation, just sorta curious. And yes, I know what curiousity did... I havent used all my nine lives yet.
