I went for a jog on the beach today and at about the halfway point 45 mins into it my inner thighs started to become very sore, by the time I got back I was in agony and walking like a cowboy. Any fitness freaks out there with any tips on how to stop this occurring in the future?

Three ways; One, go to an Army surplus store and get some grey running shorts with the "draws" built in. You can were them under a pair of sweats if need be. Two, don't laugh but thigh high panty hose work great and they prevent blisters. "Like woman, I am a mystery." Three, I'm sorry but you just might have to get used to it and aply some antiseptic ointment when you are done running. Hope this helped.

I dyed my Broancoat black for those whom have gone befor.

Same thing happened to me when I started exercising again. As I've lost weight, though, that's pretty much stopped happening. Stick with it!

There's a product that they sell at running stores called Body Glide (maybe one word) that goes on like a deoderant stick and keeps things lubircated, but not sticky or slick.

I can't believe I'm about to type this, but it also works well on nipples for long runs in the cold. Nothing worse than a chafed nipple. I'm fairly certain that Jayne has said that some time in his life.

The best thing that works for me (DONT LAUGH)
Its a spanish remedie. Cornstarch buy a box its really inexpensive. Use it like talcum powder.

I swear better than any lotion but if that sounds to weird the try baby diaper rash ointment.

Thanks for the advice, support and responses. I thought for sure I would get flamed on this post but I knew Browncoats to be a diverse bunch with eclectic knowledge.

P.s. I went for another run today wearing briefs my wife bought for me that are kinda like shorts(not sure what they are called) and I made it the whole way with no extra chafing.

Diaper rash ointment does work well. It's a lubricant and protects from chaffing because it's waterproof. Just ask any Mom or baby.

Yup . The nipple thing . An ancient Air Force Colonel that I know used to just put one
Band-Aid over each one . He used to catch a lot of ' special hell ' for it ; folk called it
" the world's smallest bra " , but it worked !

Yes. Don't shave your legs. I did that once for a girl who thought it would be sexy and when I was jogging two days later and I had stubble growing back I tore the crap outta my thighs. Damn... it hurts now just thinking about it. I feel your pain.

Short of that, baby powder works for babies. I can't see why it wouldn't work for you.

I'm not laughing. I've used that, too.

Yeah cornstarch is more absorbent and translucent than baby powder so you won't have the white powder thing to worry about...use it all the time for setting stage make-up and preventing chafing with costumes
