Hey All

I havn't seen a lot of discussion or excitement over the upcoming episode of THE OFFICE directed by Joss, so I figured I'd refresh everyone's memory.

The upcoming ep is called "Business School", and the three plots on there is Michael being invited by Ryan to be a speaker at Ryan's business school, Dwight battling a rogue bat in the office and Pam having her first art exhibition.

Here's a link to a Joss centered promo for it with some insanely funny Jim/Dwight stuff that harkens back the old Buffy days.

And here's a bit form a recent TV Guide about Joss' involvement with the show.

Buffy the Vampire Slayer creator Joss Whedon got a lesson in typecasting when he was brought in to direct the Feb. 15 episode of NBC’s The Office. While much of the focus is on a student art show that includes the work of Pam (Jenna Fischer), there’s also a bit about a bat taking up residence at Dunder Mifflin. “I was thinking I was doing something just about people,” he told TV Guide during a break in the shooting. “Then there was a bat-stunt meeting, an animatronic-bat meeting … I thought, ‘This is what I’m running away from!’ There was only one bat in the entire run of Buffy. We couldn’t afford it.”

I don't even remember a bat on the series. Are there any die-hard Buffy fans out there that remembers the episode and moment where there was a bat? I'm guessing from the comment that maybe the episode was already written up and they just passed it to Joss and said "Go." Not sure how much of an influence will be felt. Like I didn't notice any GHOSTBUSTERS or GROUNDHOG DAY references in "A Benihana Christmas", so...

The thing that really sucks, though, is that I can't actually watch it Thursday night. From the 15th to the 18th, my class is the crew of a short film our teacher is producing called OUT IN THE COLD. And it's all night exteriors. So I'll be going from like 5 in the afternoon to 7 in the morning for four days. So I'm just gonna have to get it from BitTorrents. Oh well.

"No."

You were busy trying to get yourself lit on fire. It happens.

Oh, good - I thought I'd missed it (although I'll probably be very confused, as this is the only episode I might ever watch).

This is exciting news! :)

What I'm really wondering now is if Nathan might get a chance to play in this episode. He says on his Myspace that he really likes the show and would like to star on it.

I am evil, I am sly, and if you get eaten no one will cry.

Not so die-hard - I'm still making my way through the series for the first time, although I'm making quick progress - but wouldn't the ep in question be "Buffy vs Dracula"? Didn't the Dark Master[1] turn into a bat at some point?

Stuart.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I enjoy The Office and I am really looking forward to this episode. Saw the preview for it on last Thursday's episode and it looks pretty funny.
