Who here's going to do it when they make it?

I have quite an addictive personality and I love games. I try to keep away from them as best as I can and my geetar has done wonders with that. Some people I know are trying to get me to do the WoW thing, but I won't even look at it. If I didnt' have a definable ending to a game I'd probably go even more insane.

Just wondering how many people in here would think about doing it.

Massively Multiplayer Online Game?

I'm not a fan of those types of games, I tend to find them incredibly tedious, I played Ultima Online a few years back, "chop wood for five hours straight to get +1 wood chopping skill and +1 strength" and your character is still too weak to do anything.

If done right (i.e. a bit of privateer or X3 style ship play, but with the abillity to walk around the ship, planets and bases) it would be great.

But I'd be very surprised if it's done right. I may take a look.

More insane ramblings by the people who brought you beeeer milkshakes!

I am definitely going to play the Firefly MMO. I also play WoW and it can be quite addicting, but with school an' all it's hard to be on WoW all the time. If you get into these kind of games you need to limit yourself, my parents cut me off when I've been playing too long. With enough self-control you could probably set up a timer.

hero .n. (pl. heroes) 1 a person who is admired for their courage or outstanding achievements. 2 the chief male character in a book, play or film.

I would try it. but that's it unless I get at least 2 ppl telling me how great it is.

Why is the rum always gone?

I loved Star Wars Galaxies when it first came out. I loved it when they added vehicles. However, they kept on changing and "improving" it until they "improved" it into a failure. The game totally blows now and I canceled my account about a year ago. It was the only MMORPG I've played. I probably will take a look at Firefly though. It depends on if it's done right, like someone else said.

I've just started playing Guild Wars(and I've watched people play WoW) so I like Guild Wars, and WoW seems to be the same thing, but the scenery/characters are butt-ugly. =P Despite keeping away from the online world of gaming, aesthetically pleasing and cool spells work for me.

TRAVELER

Hello SixstringJack

I don't game on line. I buy games I can play alone. Most tend to take a considerable length time to complete.

I just finished Total War Medieval by Activision and that is why I have not been on the site for some time. The game takes a long time to reach the end.

Here I am. I have finished the game and have returned to discourse with my fellow Browncoats.
It feels good to type in messages to my friends here.

Everyone has an addiction. Some are worse than others. If you feel out of control, then I say don't do it. It is your choice.

I'm not a big fan of MMORPGs, I usually prefer FPSs or other skill based games, but I'm willing to give the Firefly one a shot.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

I am definitely interested, but have never played any sort of MMO game before. Never felt a need to until they announced this one for Firefly.

I want to try it out when it comes out to see how it looks and plays. If it is fun and not too tedious I will play it, but I am going to try to keep a limit on how much I play.

I'll definitely play it at least to give it a try and show my support. I've played 3 others in the past (EverQuest, Earth & Beyond, and Anarchy Online) but if you have a busy real-life, it can be tough to really get everything out of them that you could. It is extremely important with these games to rein yourself in to make sure you don't over-do it.

I've known people who nearly lost their jobs over these games, and others who have happily played them occassionally for years. Its all about playing the game the amount that is right for you, and finding a game who's play matches your personality. I tend to be both, I'll play every once in a while, and then play a huge amount over a few days every month or so.

Personally, I hate multiplayer pvp and prefer games where your goal is to work with others to overcome obstacles. It leads to great interaction with others and developing great friendships. When I quit EQ I really didn't miss the gameplay, I missed all the friends I had made online.

If the Firefly MMO happens, and has interesting gameplay that can have something to offer both the occasional and the obsessive players, it will have a chance and I'll give it a shot.

Yeah, I will play it. I've played a few MMOs over the years. They are fun, especially if you find yourself meeting a playing with people similar to yourself.

Looking forward to the Firefly MMO - even if all it becomes in the end is a glorified chat room like SWG has turned into.
