Lots of other guests. Heroes Eureka

They have shiny pics!

They don't have their schedule posted. I wonder if they are going to screen Firefly or Serenity.

Remember we want to read your "War Stories"!

Posted a long review at SerenityStuff, here's one of the BDH parts:

Quote:

Teres’ dolls went over well, I’d say. Adam played with his a bit, after being reassured that it was formerly a soldier doll and not a Barbie “since Kens aren’t very manly. Got to be manly.” Christina kept taking pictures of the little Saffron with her cell phone, and told Ron “she had to add to the boobs to make me. To a Barbie! That’s scary!” And Ron just laughed and laughed.

Lines weren’t nearly as long for the BDHs as last year — good for me, a trifle worrying otherwise — but apparently they were properly thronged Friday and today the photo ops were pretty busy. There was time to chat briefly with everybody and, as usual, they seemed sincerely happy to be there and took time to talk to everybody that came out. Adam solemnly congratulated my son James on his choice of attire (Jayne hat and Little Damn Hero Jayne tee shirt). I got a straight-forward handshake until I thanked him for what he and the crew did for the Flanvention and he went all noble and modestlike and said “Just wanted to make sure they had a good time… probably a better time than they would have had, which was great.” Christina loved my “YoSaffBridge Husband’s Club” tee and wrote down where I got it so she can go get one herself (BlackMarketBeagles.com, hi Adam!) and we talked about a possible future project. And Ron was clearly delighted anybody wanted to meet him. At one point his phone rang, whereupon he bellowed to the room at large that “my phone is ringing!” I wondered aloud if he always answered the phone that way; Christina said she hoped so.

Glad our BDHs had some fun, and 'coats showed up

neat idea. Go, blackmarketbeagles.

GORRAMIT! And to think I forgot to check who the guests were this year! I went last year and Alan was gorram AWESOME, and Summer was sweet (shy as hell, though, but then, I squeaked with excitement when I met her, so that may have thrown her a bit ). I didn't know any BDHs were going to be there this year though, let alone that it was this weekend! Damn. They sounded like they were a lot of fun, too. Plus, I could have gotten more cast sigs for my Serenity poster that I have yet to frame still.

And somebody from Eureka was there?? And Heroes??? Goddamn! Two of my other current fave SFs! Grr. Stupid, forgetting it was this weekend and that as much as the rest of the con tends to suck (well... OK, I give the dealer's rooms props for having some decent booths for us PVC figure collectors and comics collectors, but really, every decent con has one of those!) they always manage to have good guests!

What's REALLY sad is that in mid-Feb., I'm going to MegaCon, which is in same area, but apparently has ZERO BDHs this year! I've been so concerned with prepping for MegaCon that I forgot FX Show even existed!

That's the only problem with living in the Sunshine State; too many gorram cons to keep up with! Hell, too many just for anime/manga fans, let alone general SF and fantasy and comics fans and those combined!

...

Damn.

At least they had fun though. :)

I missed meeting Christina Hendricks, but my husband and I did meet Adam Baldwin and Ron Glass. Ron is extremely down to earth, very nice guy. He and my husband chatted for quite a few minutes before he signed a picture for my hubby. We talked to Ron Glass first because I was absolutely petrified to even approach Adam Baldwin. Here I was, looking a 15 year crush in the face (and by the way, ladies and gents, pictures do not do this man justice) and having NO idea what to say to him. After I got the nerve up to get up to the table, with my husband there for backup, I managed to fumble my way through the whole "I've been a fan forever, I'm not worthy, please let me shine your shoes" starry-eyed thing, whereupon I discovered that Adam is one of the sweetest, kindest and most understanding men I've ever met. I think he knew exactly what I was going through, and after I got a picture signed, I just couldn't speak any more. My husband said "Are you okay?" and I said "Nooo.." with tears practically in my eyes. Adam said, "D'awww, c'mere.." and gave me a hug. I was so overwhelmed all I could do was whisper "thank you". Even thinking about it right now I have tears of happiness in my eyes. He is a fine example of a true gentleman. I just wish I could have had the nerve to go talk to him again during downtimes. Just call me a fan for life. Thanks Adam, you made my year and then some.

I forgot to put this up earlier, but here's a link to the picture of Adam and I (this was before the hug, so I still have a tiny bit of composure).

That's a great photo! Thanks also for posting a con report. I was so happy to hear that Adam is so nice in person. Hope someday to meet him at a con.

Thanks to all for the con reports!
