Yep, just popping in to start a new thread, although I'm trying to return to my former posting frequencies.

No pondering or anything deep and meaningful to start things off, just a picture.

See, that's why I don't drink it. It lies. The stuff smells so gorramn good, but once it hit's your tongue you realize you've been had.

1 It's mine, I tell yas, MINE! *squeezing the life outta the hug*

4 NVG, could you give PB and BV some extra hugs this week for me? RIMG, Mav, LA (if you read this) could you hug your lil' ones too? (Yes, I need hugs today BADLY, but I'll settle for someone to substitute for me.)

(you really don't want to read how bad today was.)

Awww, why is Neko upset ?!? I really wish I could do something to change it for you doll, whatever it is.
I love green tea ice cream, one of my favorite sushi places in Atlanta has some of the best I have had.
You can have as many hugs as you like, and they can all be yours.
I'd love to hug 'em Neko, were they not in Oklahoma. I'll send them and you virtual hugs and you can sort it out with them how many you get. :)
I really do want to know how bad the day was, if you feel like talking about it, I am a damn good listener.

Since we seem to be on the topic of coffee, I'd like to take this chance to say that coffee makes me sick, even iced coffee gives me gut cramps. So I'm sticking to tea.

mornin' Rose *hugs*

Let's see if I can remember it:

NVG was contacted again by She-who-must-not-be-named, discussion ensued over her actual intentions in contacting him.

Whitefall's feelings for the ?lighting director? and their subsequent delivery to her were discussed, and condolences offered when he heard back.

Neko had a bad day.

Nico got woken up because of a crazy lady.

Green tea and coffee were discussed.

That is most of what I remember at this point, I might go back and scan to see if I forgot anything major.

Coffee.... Been drinking it since I was about 15. I can't get going in the morning when there's too much blood in my caffeine stream.
Down to one cup a day most days. The joke in the Navy went "Name the food groups." "Caffeine, nicotine, alchohol, fat & sugar".
Some coffee is better than other, and I've occasionally splurged on a $3 cup from a shop. Don't bother. Go into the greasy spoon down the street and get a cup there for $1, and free refills.
I bought a commemorative coffee mug back in early 1991, shortly after Desert Storm (Gulf War I) started. I washed it when I took it out of the box, have used it pretty much daily since then, and never washed it again until August 2006 (Never use sugar on Friday unless you rinse the cup afterward). I've started working on relining the cup.

Ugh, green tea is the worst-tasting tea in the world! White tea, from the same plant and even more loaded with anti-oxidant goodness, is much better. Fruit teas are better still. My favorite teas are ginger peach, summer currant, and raspberry in any form. Can't stand green tea, though.
Coffee I do like, but I don't drink it anymore because it counters too many of the healthy things I put in my body (read: homeopathics)
*edit* And I try to stay away from all those food groups. Betting a lot of caffiene (or more accurately, guarana) will be taken in at DC, though...

Good morning to everyone. I'm actually grabbing A cup of coffee. Didn't sleep too well last night and must endure. But it sure makes it easier with y'all around.

So here's the lowdown on some recent news. I did meet a nice girl a few weeks back but failed to mention her because she was in a longtime relationship. WAS. My buddy John at Outsiders mentions to yours truly the other day that she'd broken up with the boyfriend a week or two ago and needed to be around a good guy. I'm thinkin' John considers me to be that good guy.

She's working on her teaching certificate, works with the same type of kids I do in the county system, and loves paintball (I woulda said ballin' but I know the way my mind works and can't put it beneath y'all to think the same).
Moving ahead, she'll be in the field this weekend and I'm considering askin' if she wants to hang out some evening.

Thought y'all would like to know.

I tried to drink green tea. Then I discovered white tea and stopped
How am I? That's an interesting question. In many ways I'm good and in many (not unrelated) ways I'm not. Lemme 'splain:
I read a book last week about parasites and how nasty and, worse, how common they were. I have been taking very gross herb tinctures to kill any I have. They have been dying and putting off toxins. I feel much lighter, more more energetic, and very very sore, achy, and not really 'all there'. Example: I got off work, drove home, realized I had left all of my foodstuffs and drinkage in the breakroom fridge, had to drive back and nearly ran out of gas. Also my typing has been crap lately and I keep having to go back to make sure everything is right. Twice.
Also have been slightly discouraged about my future, but working on it! Stuff to look into and things and such

Where'd you get such a great picture of me, MsG?
(I wish my hair were really that long, but in reality I've got more curve, so it evens out.)

Whitefall, my dearest sweetest Whitefall, I give you hugs

NVG, who I've not seen in forever, I concur with Mavs

*edit because I'm taking so gorramn long to type anything* Mircea, I recognized the quote right away. I have the complete collection and am currently working on putting every strip into a photobucet account so I may post them. They might shut me down, but I want to post Calvin sometimes, so I'm willing to risk it (and I do own every strip, and so does my dad, which is where I read them first. Not like I'm stealng them...)

Your not going all germaphobic on us are you?

And if you hate the taste of coffee, then don't drink Starbucks. Or if you have it where you live, Scooters. Scooters coffee is literally on every street corner here in Omaha. Worst coffee house coffee, ever. Starbucks does have good iced frappuccino though. Put enough sugar into anything and it will taste good I guess. If you have to go to a chain coffee house I would suggest Caribou. Otherwise stick to small local brew houses. And if you make it at home, put more coffee into the filter. It will actually make it less bitter. I haven't mastered making coffee at home yet so I usually buy mine and drink it at the spur of the moment. Maybe it is my $12 Westinghouse coffee maker.

Parasites aren't technically germs so... no!
They are horrible things and some (many) of them are microscopic and they are fought by the immune system and they can cause health problems, but they aren't germs. They're nastier than germs, almost. I hate them. I especially hate that their death is toxic so I can't even painlessly kill them. But once I found out why my digestion had been so sensitive, I knew I had to make them die!

I should really go to bed...

Hi from your caffeine-based-lifeform of a coffee addicted internet friend. Work overnights at one radio station, take classes during the day and work at the college station every afternoon and you too will learn to drink coffee for the rest of your life. Black. With lots of sugar when available. The hummingbird diet.....

Hey all. Won't be around for long, but I'll try and catch up with y'all again.

I'm starting to wonder if I live in some magical land where Starbucks is really yummy or if I just have terrible taste in coffee. I'm starting to think it's the latter. Maybe it's because I drink mocha? I really like Starbucks though! It's almost as good as O'Briens, and they're my favourite. Their hot chocolate is great too. Especially the signature hot chocolate. Mmm...

Nice water cooler

And hello to you all, I've missed you guys ..at least those of you I haven't seen in the pub recently ..

DTH - I think I must live in the only place on earth that doesn't have a Starbucks ! There are a couple of small coffe places ,but they aren't accomodating to children,so I must avoid them. Which leaves me with Dunkin' Donuts..
Which is where the crazy homeless person followed me from today & where the police came runing out of to stop him.

It's been a fun day here in crazyperson land ..

Hiya guys! Oh, are we dropping the imponderables entirely out of the title??

I love coffee. Coffee is my friend.
PR I agree with you about green tea though...it's not strong enough for me. If I drink tea it's gotta be something with more body like earl grey or something. It's even better if you add honey to it.

Tristan..I think that you should try talking faster...

DH I do really love mocha too, but I always have to get it with skim milk or I feel like....y'know unhealthy. Starbucks coffee though is another story. I don't like it. It's too strong even for me!

And I can't say that I have any strong feelings about parasites unless they're making me sick.

It's like you people sniff each other out!

Hi Asorta! Not sure where we're headed with the Imponderables part. We'll figure it out eventually.

if you're after something with body, get on the assam, Earl grey is a little light to have real body, but it's a step in the right direction from most green :winks: (although there's of green out there that DOES have real body, but it also retains that slightly smoky flavour, which isn't quite the same)

PR, check out how the marsian's died in War of the Worlds, you don't wanna live a completely nasty-free life, or it only takes one slip to do away with you

must confess to having ROFL'd at parasite's making you think of tax returns DTH

No STARBUCK$?!?!?1?!?!

I'm in a town of 5,000 and we have a Starbuck$. Not that I'm much of a fan. I prefer going to Jittery Joe's in Athens, or that other place where the pagan group has the meet ups.

Oooh, I remember that....maybe getting sick isn't that bad. I'll be sure to get sick next time I want to raid another planet. Yeah, and that book was way better than the movie by the way, so I hope that's what you were referencing. It bugs me when they take a classic story and then feel the need to change it all around. Do they just forget that the reason it got so famous was because of the story?? Come on people! Right, ahem...sorry for the little rant there.

You don't have a Starbucks?? I didn't think that it was even possible to have a town without one! Although it is true that locally owned places have far better coffee than the chain ones

Oh and good luck with the Firefly club Whitefall!

I know ,it's pretty sad that in the whole borough of Brooklyn there's only 1 starbucks ..and that one is a bout 1/2 an hour from here by train.Same for the Pagan meeetings..I live on the outer rim as far as NYC goes.

I wish I lived in a small town..

JQ - are you implying that I might be a crazy myownself ? 'Cause you might be right ,you know !

ASOFT _ I could go on forever about the lack of maintaing the stories from books to movies..take LOTR for instance...

Hi there Odds

Of course they don't care about the story Asorta. They only care about appealing to the nitwit masses who only want flashy fx and simple single sylablle dialog. The "writers" don't want to work hard to make a good original script they just want to rip off someone else's hard work. And the people they write for don't want to be troubled with plots and characterization. Its just too difficult to follow.
They say thinking is like a drug, its addictive and once you start you'll never what to stop. I just wish it was like a disease and was contagious.

Sorry, I just felt like ranting. I'll stop now. Honest.

I think nighttime is dark so you can imagine your fears with less distraction.

No you're not crazy LA, nope not at all. *cough*nutcase*cough

Mirca, you're very right. I've pretty much lost my faith in the movie makers ever since I saw Saw 3...and why doesn't Serenity have a sequel yet???
