I remember a while back somebody wanted a quick way to search FireflyFans.net rather than going to some search engine, specifying fff.net, and doing it that way.

Anyhoo...

I wrote a little plugin for Firefox to do it automatically. Since I don't have any sites to host this on, I'll just give you the text of the plugin.

EDIT: The site takes some of the script and turns it into actual html stuff on the site... when I figure out a way around this, I'll repost the script.

Just copy and paste that into a new text file, and save it with an ".src" extension, minus the quotes. You then drop this into your "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins\" folder, and start Firefox. If you're like me, and can't have a search plugin without an icon, just make a 15x15 pixel .jpg (I used the Blue Sun icon) and name it the same as your searchplugin. I used "fireflyfans.src" and "fireflyfans.jpg". Simplistic, but it works.

Hope this helps.

Shiny I should have learned how to do this a long time ago. I’ve had to search The Signal page the hard way every time I’m trying to figure out which show something was on.

Here’s a zip file with files to add The Signal, Firefly Fans.net & Serenity Movie.net
UPDATE added Firefly Talk & the Browcoat Board

http://www.triggerpoints.net/Junk/FirefoxSearch.zip

Just copy the files to "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\searchplugins\"

I did mention the part where the engine overheats and we all die, right? Don't think I woulda left somethin' like that out.

I'll host it if you want. Let me know via email if you want me to (I just PM'd it to you).

That's really slick!

Thanks for putting those together. I also use several of the official plugins ( https://addons.mozilla.org/search-engines.php) so this fits in perfectly.

The other great site to include would be the Browncoat board...

The browncoat board seems to be down so I can't poke around to figure out if a plugin would have to search the whole domain or if it would have to be set for something more like serenitymovie.org/browncoats/forums When it comes back I'll add it to the zip file.

OK added Firefly Talk & the Browncoat Board didn’t take the time to find any neat graphics for them, but there in there.
