Yep, the only place where the songs blend seemlessly between the James Bond theme, Austin Powers and Zorba the Greek, along with the more traditional fare.

New ponderance is this: Is it just me, or is there nothing wrong with guys in kilts playing Mexican music with bagpipes?

Wow, so quiet in here I'm thinking something bad happened. Did the Hands of Blue turn up and use their rods on everyone?

It does seem that way, Nico. This last week has been pretty quiet.

Congrats, Magda, on the firsties. I just stopped in for a second. I do need to get a bit of sleep. I hope to catch up with the 2 of you later on.

I see nothing wrong with a guy wearing a kilt listening to Mexican music and carrying a bagpipe. To each his own.

Hi, to any Imponderables that will be coming after me.

It was strange, but then again, the New Zealand Army contingent has a reputation at the Tattoo for being unpredictable. I'm not sure what's wierder: that it was mexican music played on bagpipes, or that it worked so well.

In a word ...military responsibilities... (oh... OK... that was 2 words, but who can be bothered counting that high?) he was fast tracked up the chain of command... way fast tracked that is... well one day he was sitting in his sewing room, day dreaming about forming a battalion... and sewing pretty things like totally gorgeous Kaylee jackets!! (see picture thread for photos... )

Next thing he knew he was Colonel of the 76th Battalion... sitting in his sewing room... sewing uniforms for about 40 people!

...I don't think he realised that the Colonels of every successful campaign in history personally sewed all the uniforms for his troops...

I might have a tendancy to agree, YinYang, but I think he's in heaven. It's a dream come true. He's leading the 76th Battalion, and he is totally involved in his passion of sewing costumes. We miss him on the Imponderables, but I really think he's having a great time. He might even have a minute to drop by occasionally.

Hey, all!
I've been missing everyone, so big :hugs: and all around.

Mexican...bagpipe...kilts....huh.

ASAFT, I am still alive. My qing ren has it about right...the 76th has taken off way beyond my hopes and dreams...I know that sounds corny, but it's true. Never knew so many people would be interested! Whee!!!
I love it, love what I am doing to make it happen, and love the fact that it WILL happen. But I do miss the pondering. Between work and the 76th lately, I have very little time to do more than sleep...
It's good to know y'all are thinking about me, though.

YingYang, I may have to steal that sewing emotie!

If I don't make it back on here before then, I wish everyone a wonderful and safe New Year's!

Oh, qing ren?
hehehe

Well, speak of the Devil!

No, I insist - YOU can have the safe New Year's! Mine's gonna be boring enough as it is (or, perhaps less exciting than most people would like).

Oh, and steal away! It's not like I (or the person I nabbed it from on Photobucket) own it or anything.

Hi, Magda,
I think 2007 is starting out great. I've pre-ordered my Firefly Visual Companion volume 2, and the disguised Serenity ornament; I have a reservation for the Browncoat cruise; and I'm making arrangements for Dragon*Con. Could it get any better? Oh, yeah, I could make a trip to Australia.

IMO, the Imponderable thread is propelled by all of the Browncoats that are at work. Our 3 day weekends do have a way of slowing the posts down. I hope folks aren't too hung-over from the celebrations last night.

VERSEEXPLORER

Oh my, Magda, is it so quiet that we have to bump the Imponderables. I thought someone would be up and about by this time.

Hi to Neko and Fitch if you check back.

I'm going to sleep right now, but "Hi" to anyone that might be stopping by this lonely place.

MAVOURNEEN

Moring, VE & Magda!

I've got a busy busy day ahead of me. Just wanted to check in and say hello.

Normally, New Year's is a very quiet time in the furniture business. People look but don't buy until the end of January, in anticipation of tax checks in April.
Somehow, between Ford's funeral today and the New Year's weekend Washingtonians decided to buy a lot of over overly priced furniture! So I'm swamped, at least until tomorrow.

to everyone.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year. Magda, you were thought of on New Year's Eve. I saw the Sydney fireworks live and thought of you - even though you weren't there, I think.

Quick note- we adopted a dog over the weekend. Very sweet & needed a home. I'll post a pic later.

Ooooh - Mavourneen - no I am nowhere near Sydney but in the same time zone and I watched the fireworks at midnight too!! thank you my wonderful friend!!

What is wrong with those Washingtonians? Don't they know you are tired after the weekend!!??

And that's thrilling about the dog!! Is it a he-dog or a she-dog??

es for my qing ren...

2007 ought to be an interesting year.

So, here's a good Imponderable...did anyone have resolutions this year, and how long do you think you'll stick to them?
I did not have any real ones...just going to try to be a better, kinder person. That should last awhile!
