Morning, Guys.

Coming to you live not from my desk per usual, but at home. School is out this week, as is day care...so I am "forced" to take a day off. The agony!

He's knee deep in his newly beloved Game Boy, so I have a minute to check in.

Mav's giftage: Done the Impossible dvd, Celtic design silver necklace, a big ole honking flash drive, a framed watercolor from my father in law. I'm a Happy Girl.

I trust you guys had a good Holiday -

I'm waiting for whedonesque to come back online. They're having server problems, and when they do come back, open registration SHOULD be right now. Damn them and their closed registration...

well thank you for the compliment... at least I think 'Guh' is a compliment... right?

Hello Mavourneen - how did your Tidbit enjoy his Christmas?? I did think of you!!

Hello Qing ren missed you! Hope you had a ball and didn't meet too many redheads of the green eyed variety during your festivities...

ah gifty goodness

Yes Mav school is out!!I've no where to be until Jan 2nd:) Feel the joy:)

Mind you I've enough laundry to choke an elephant along with needing to ready the guest room for next weekend and all so I'll be busy today some. Lil sis, brother in law, and baby Annie are just on the plane on their way to their annual Hawaii pilgrimige ( they always go the day after Christmas)

The babies loved their gifts. When Annie unwrapped the mini stalls with toy horses and books her whole face lit and she screamed "neighs, neighs!!" ( she calls horses neighs) and played with them endlessly.

Wyatt didn't want to put his talking dump truck down to open his other gifts so he had to open them one handed

As for me, MisterG bought me CSI Miami season 4 and CSI season 6. My parents got me NCIS season 2 and CSI New York season 2 so I have big plans for this week of freedom!

Magda- oh big hugs and loves big sis

Morning, msg & magda!

I'm familiar with the phrase "enough laundry to choke an elephant." Oh so very familiar. Dishes are running right now. When they are done its laundry time.

Magda- Carson LOVED Christmas. We visited multiple houses to see family and the child gorge himself on cookies & chocolate, and delighted in playing Santa by handing out gifts for everyone. Of course, his most favorite was the Game Boy.

Husband is taking off tomorrow, so there will be a Pokemon bonanza at my house tomorrow between the two of them. Then, daycare comes back for Thursday & Friday.

I KNOW you're groovin on life today, msg. No school. Decompression time!!! Enjoy those dvds.

Oh, yeah. Forgot to publically comment on JQ's generous offer to T between me and Mags.

I officially defer that to the delightful Miss M in Australia. Not that you aren't the cat's meow, Tristan...but I do believe a girl's gotta make a choice!

Ooooooh - I wanna do that too... at one time I thought about being a teacher just so I could get all those holidays they get every year... isn't that shallow of me... mind you - I think I was 16 at the time and the fact that I loathed school was the main reason I didn't go down that path...

So when you win the lottery RIMG... does my airfare to the US get included in that?

Oh - it is so good to see you all again!

EIDT: You all posted at the same time!! I love the sound of Carson's Christmas Mavs... my 4 year old nephew loved being the giver-outerer-of-gifts in my family and he would give me a kiss every time I handed him something to pass on to someone else. He is delicious - you can see him in the picture thread...

MsG!! I wish I lived closer - that sounds like just the ticket for a few days of unwinding - kicking back with my Li'l Sis, Horatio, Mack and the ever adorable Tony Denozio! We'd have to wear wooly socks and drink hot chocolate, too!!

MSG - they were incredibly happy with their toys. Zachary got Woody and Slink from Toy Story and did not put them down all day. My trunk is still full of their toys that I didn't get to unpack last night. They were sick the whole weekend though, and Aiden was up most of the night Christmas Eve tossing and turning.

Morning, all!

RIMG, thanks for the new home!

Mav, I wish I had another day off...almost did not get up this morning.
As for the cat's meow comment I understand choice. Thanks for that, though.

Qing ren!
No, no green-eyed redheads. But I did get along famously with my 4-year old niece-in-law. We nerf-gunned our entire family in the entertainment room of my brother's house. She's a pretty good shot, too!

MSG, sounds like you had a wonderful time! I can understand Wyatt not wanting to put down his dump truck. I remember a few Christmas-times when I put down a toy to open another, and ended up forgetting about it...

RIMG, that is a brilliant idea! I'll have to start playing the lottery, but I like the way you think. A Big Damn Cruise...I have checked that out, and it looks like a lot of fun!
I'm glad your Christmas went well, too...I'm sorry the boys weren't feeling well, though. I hope they are getting better?

Sleep well, qing ren!

Tristan - I am actually seriously considering the Browncoat Cruise, the only downside to it being the fact that it (like a bunch of my favorite fanfic writers) is on the left coast. T'would be a hell of a road trip though, then a fine time on the ship as well. Someone else mentioned to me trying to work out a similar event here in the east.

I generally play the lottery here regularly, buying a ticket or two (sometimes scratch-off too) when I get cigs. I taped lotto tickets to the outside of everyone's presents for xmas as well, making it at least a chance that I gave them a huge cash gift (hell, in Georgia, it all goes to a good place anyhow, one that I benefitted from myownself).

Hey the lottery is a nice dream to give everyone for Christmas, plus it sets up that lovely imagining of what you'd do with all that cashy money:)
Sorry the little ones were so sick and all. I am allergic to Christmas trees and spent virtually every Christmas break with brinchitis until we figured that out... so I can sympathize.

Tristan- yeah the little bullodzer makes all kinds of ounds and talks every time you push down the scoop and he loved it.Annie insisted on packing her neighs to take to Hawaii. It's just so much more fun with babies:)

What a good morning. It might sound strange, but I feel like I came home for some reason.

As for the drunken present wrapping, it was more work than fun. We didn't start until 1:00 in the morning, I was already tired, and I left the beer in the back of the truck so I essentially had beer slushy. Okay, that part was fun.

Tryin' to catch up on work here. We get another three day weekend so's the is alot to do.

Thanks Tristan. I gotta run out soon and grab the camera to post a few pics from this weekends shooting sessions. Be back in a bit.

RIMG, that is something I respect about GA...the fact that they have a lottery, and at least some of the money goes towards education. Alabama tried to get the same thing going, but apparently it's right up there with gambling in most people's eyes, so it got shot down.

LA29, ok...West Coast embarkment, stop in FL to pick up some lower Easterners, a few stops along the East coast, New York, then we'll hit Ireland to pick up the Browncoats there, England, mainland Europe...then we can sail to New Zealand to start our Browncoat community, like Hell's Kitten suggested! We'll of course have to pick up the Aussie 'coats, too!

MSG...oy! I am sorry for all the allergies! Glad to hear it's not all that bad, though.

LittleAlbatross29 is driving to Australia. I'll pay my share of the gas if I can come along. I should buy one of those underwater cameras so we take some nice photos of our journey.

I have the whole week off and will spend it telling everybody what I will do and then not do any of it.

Actually I did the big laundry push already. Grabed everything not bolted down and went to the laundromat.

It sounds like everyone survived their holiday. That is good. My own experence has taught me to be extra careful.

Beer slushy. Sounds like something we would have Milwaukee. We have beer everything else here. Never boil a bratwurst in water if beer is handy.

NV- awww baby V is so precious. She's just gorgeous. I hope you have a really big bat for when she gets older 'cause you're gonna need it to beat the boys away. She looks like she was having a fun time though and what a cute little bow as well. Aren't babies just the best thing ever?

LA- this road trip's sounding better and better...

99 hand Grenades on the wall,

If one of those Grenades should happen to fall,

Hello MSG:

Baseball bat. I think my dad wishes he had Vera when my sister entered highschool. We never knew who was going to at the door when she went out. When my dad would find out these guys were from other highschools, he would ask her how they met. LOL.

She would reply "basketball games". Da!

My dad was happier when she turned eighteen and his legal obligation ended.

Bats are for baseball players and guys that can't shoot. I wanted to engrave her name on the side a less expensive 1911 when I get the coin to but a cheap (and replaceable) practice gun.

I love the hand grenade song K.

Someone I've known for a long time told me she is pregnant. She is one of the sweetest women I've ever met and tried having babies with her ex husband, but was never successful. Since this is supposed to be top secret, I won't say who it is, but that I am very happy for her. I get to be happy for other people more often than not, but this one is a good one. Just thought I'd share.

HUGS NV yeah hoping I have a secret too, but I still have 4 more days to wait to find out...SIGH!!! Still that's great news for her. I bet she's super happy!

Traveler- how exactly does his obligation end?? It's not like some sort of time bomb or prison sentence. You're still the parent forever and then some... or do you mean he felt she was grown up enough to make some choices for herself and that he didn't need to worry as much and all:)

My father lived by a set of rules I or anybody else ever understood. I have no idea where he developed them. I think he choose what ever was convenient to his needs. So the rules changed as his desires required.

I am planning on going on the Browncoat Cruise if anyone wants to join me. http://www.browncoatcruise.com/lib/news.html

I want to join the Imponderable Cruise, too. I could probably make it to a port, or if MsG and LA are in the area, you could drop by on your road trip and pick me up.

I've got positive thoughts heading your way, MsG.

NVG, cute munchkin and Monica looks great next to the bag.

Traveler, from your stories life with your dad must have been very difficult.
