I just voted (bump!)

I've realized that I don't even think about it anymore. I just do it out of habit. I can almost tell when an hour is up without looking at the clock. Anyone else feel the same?

I live on the west coast of Florida, the part of the entire south east least likely to be hit by a hurricane. In order for us to be hit they have to go up into the gulf and then change directions, not that that never happens but c'mon its december!!!

UltimatePos_ "position" of delta for Dec 1 to Dec 20 (IE if the vote trend continued forever, what position would your show settle in).

Not much to say for Firefly other than... the more votes we get, the faster we can catch up.

For Lexx... if all the current vote trends hold, they will slip a spot. ASSUMING that the December voting rates hold (and we all know they won't, they will change ;-) ), Lexx needs to pick up about 6 votes a day to stay ahead of Star Trek TNG. They need about 15 votes a day more to stay ahead of House MD.

Buffy is making a bit of a charge right now. Lexx will need about 30 more votes a day to stay ahead there.

And more math will yeild more deltas ;-)

In short for 6 votes a day, Lexx can hold position indefinitely (barring changes, of course); 8 will give it a shot at moving up a spot... and of course, more is better ;-)

Hello BSG! Goodbye "The Rookies", it was nicing knowing you.

In order for BSG to have passed The Rookies and hit 39 like they did, they are getting at least 300 votes a day. If they can sustain that (and no one else rises to the occaision), that's a pace to get into the top 5.

Battlestar Galactica 2004 is in the Top 40!

You can now vote for Joss's favorite show currently on television, Battlestar Galactica 2004! I started a campaign in BSG Fan sites to get the show into the Top 40, and we did it! So please get in the habit of voting for BSG along with your Firefly vote if you enjoy the show! Thanks Browncoats!

That does not negate the fact that we in Colorado have absolutely no need to worry about hurricanes ever, or that living in Florida is... well, not the best idea ever (no offense meant at all by that statement).

Besides, with blizzards, I don't have to worry about property damage, and I still get out of school! And, this much snow is rare for us, anyway.

Many thanks for the offer Razza!
I expect your vote numbers to jump a bit now that you're on the 'Main' board, and near the top of the alphabetical list. Much easier to pick up "Oh yeah, that's a great show too" votes when it's a checkbox vs another screen and typing out B a t t l e s t a r G a l... see? I don't even want to finish it for illustrative purposes.

I was lurking around at Bonanzaworld.net today and here's a quote from their board.

[qoute]As mentioned before we have to keep a close eye on Firefly, the differents now between us and them is 36135 votes. On a daily basis they out vote us with aprox. 200 to 250 votes that means that they can become a serious threat!
[/qoute]

If we keep this amount of voting up we will be past them in no time. I'm so motivated right now plus I just got my Jayne hat cell phone holder in the mail today!!! It is so shiny!

I'm on holiday and haven't got access to my computer and graphs.

So its really nice to come on here and see that we made more than 900 for the day.

Well done, and thank you Flattop. It lessens the seperation anxiety to know I can still see the info I need.

And guys, with all due respect to Battlestar Galactica. I haven't seen a single episode, but I've heard its really good. And with the type of fanbase that could get organised rather quickly. On the scifi board, their thread is the most active. I'm just afraid that they might become a problem in the future, and now that we are nearing the top, I don't feel comfortable assisting a show which might become serious competition in the future. I'd rather postpone that if possible. So I'm not gonna vote for BSG. I'll stick to NCIS.

BSG into the Top 40. As it stands now, they're around 92,000 votes behind Firefly, so personally, I'm gonna vote for them every hour for a while yet. They're farther behind us than we are behind Xena and they're only getting a couple of hundred votes a day.

You are most welcome to do as you wish with the statistics above; I would not have made a point on commenting on Lexx if I had wished otherwise :-) So consider it a standing offer.

Re: BSG, well, Razza says they averaged 208 coming up the nomination pike; if there's a one day lag between "making" top 40 then being on the top 40 list (entirely understandable, they have to have some cut off for making the switch), then that would account for the jump I saw (416 votes over two days would take them from just making the top 40 to 'starting' being on the list in position 39). In that case, the 20 day time frame would mean they have a Dec 1 to Dec 20 "equivalent" of 4160, which would put them "currently aiming at" 7th position... so yes; you need to start outpacing them at some point. Of course, with a 40,000 vote lead, and their "gain" rate of about 20 votes a day, you "only" have 2,000 days to figure out where to find those votes :-) Of course, I'd also guess that being in the top 40, they will start picking up a fair number of voters who will be willing to vote for them if it "only" takes checking off a box; so it will bear watching.

(BSG fans out there: the above is simply friendly advice from one fellow Sci-Fi fan to another; at the moment I've seen neither show (I saw some of the original BSG series, but not the new) and I cannot comment on the relative merits of the shows. I do intend to try to catch both on some media somehow (which is part of the idea of pushing our shows onto the top 40, so folks see them and consider watching them, eh?) and, once I have an opinion about them will consider voting for them on their merits. The above parenthetical expression is relative only to myself and does not represent the opinion of anyone else (unless, of course, they say they agree with me :-) ) And you are welcome to share the stats above with your folks, pointing out that a 208 rate will land your show around 7th, ultimately, unless (as always is the case) things change.).

====
And this is the Firefly "vote" thread...in case any thought I might have got so wrapped up in statitics that I forgot to vote... well I didn't! Vote! Bump!

Bump

and.....

Just for the record.
I'm not against voting for BSG because I think its not a good show.... Although I haven't been able to watch it, I've heard great things.
I just think that if I vote for BSG now, I'll be sorry in a year's time. I haven't heard about the cancellation rumours, I've just heard about the die-hard fans. And if we can move from seventh to third in such a relatively short time, they might be able to do so too.

They moved the options around, nearly voted for Farscape. Firefly is on the far left not too far from the top.

Milk:

I think a lot of BSG voters were already voting for Firefly. I know I was! It is Joss's favorite show currently on TV afterall! I think you should only vote for shows you actually watch and enjoy though, but that's just me.

Still voting.

Still voting for Lexx too. Just because this new show has come along is no reason to abandon old allies. And I've started nominating The Ernie Kovacs Show. If that one makes it into the top 40 we'll know that the old folks are online in force.

Hello!
I'm another fan of Lexx and I'm voting for both Lexx and Firefly! I won't write here very often, but I just wanted to show you my support and to be a little prove, that the deal between Lexx and Firefly is fair!

FLYVOTE

From a Bonanza board:

Quote:

I still don't see how Firefly gets so many votes. Every fan they have must vote a lot every day.

If that were the case, we'd be in 1st place by sundown. I only wish every FF fan registered to fff.net would vote 10 times a day for 10 days.

That's all I ask...

Except BSG; whose stats are relative to Dec 21 (breaking into the top 40), other ave stats relative to Dec 1.

Ok, top10 + BSG. It's always a mistake to project with inadequate data; but, having inadequate data I'll project anyway. Assumptions: BSG continues it's one day trend of 433 votes, and all other stick to thier 20 day averages...
BSG will hit the top 10 in about 137 days; at that time, I believe Queer as Folk will be in 10th place. If they maintain such a vote pace, they will ultimately be in 4th place (assuming nothing else changes;-).

It appears that FLAtRich is tightly connected to the tv_vote board. Was wandering thru the Google group board, and found this (and don't recall anyone else posting it, if you did "my bad" :-) ).

I was just over at fireflyfans.net of which I was once a member, (but I
can't remember what email address I used or my password so I can't sign
on there without opening another membership) and I can't post there so
I'd appreciate it if someone would tell them our official TV_Vote
Response to the statement "just remember I think the latest this poll
will last is the end of this year" is tsai boo shr, that's tsway-niou!

TV_Vote will go on forever and ever and ever, boys and girls! We've
been up for 6 years and we have no immediate plans for retirement.

So keep on voting!
