Joss's raving about it got me hooked last year. Still love it, but am bummed that the 20-episode-only pick up could mean the end of the series. I read that having Gilmore Girls as a lead-in has helped with the ratings, but GG's ratings have dipped a bit this year due to the breakup of Luke and Lorelai. I'm no shipper, although I love both characters, but I wish Rob Thomas had not decided to breakup Logan and Veronica just yet. I'm afraid it'll be final nail in the coffin of the show for sure, considering the popularity of the couple.

Weird how the breakup of Buffy/Angel in BUFFY'S season 2 is supposedly what sparked the initial increase in ratings.

Hey - I love this show too - and we are just getting the 2nd season here in Australia! I am having trouble following it all becaue in true Free To Air TV channel style our network keeps changing the timing week by week so I am hoping to purchase the DVDs... probably after I visit the USA for Dragon*Con next year!

I used to enjoy Gilmore Girls too, but it is also being changed around here - and it's on a different network too... I haven't watched it for ages...

I love Bones too - anyone else enjoy that?

I thought I couldn't bear it when Angel walked off at the end of the 2nd (or was it 3rd) season of 'Buffy' - but I came to love 'Angel' as much as, if not more than, 'Buffy' in the end... They seemed to fulfil different needs in me at different times...

I did enjoy BONES for awhile but it started to bore me toward the end of the first season. I stopped watching altogether when it went on hiatus for baseball (or whatever) this year.

Anyway, love VERONICA. Probably even more than LOST, my other currently-in-production favorite show. Why-oh-why do I gravitate toward cult shows that are surely going to lead to heartbreak?

AAAAAHHHH!! Just read Ask Auseillo at TVGuide.com. Apparently the finale for this seasons first mystery was a ratings win for the key demographic...so much that he's of the opinion that the show has a chance after all of a fourth season!!!!!!!

No, I don't need to be reminded of how high ANGEL'S ratings were (for a cult show on a low-rated network) when it was viciously cancelled.

I love Veronica Mars. I am excited about its ratings thus far, though I am slightly disappointed with the season so far over all. I know, I know, nothing will be season one. But... well, I am still a little unsatisfied.

I was actually quite pleased when Logan and Veronica broke up. Don't get me wrong, I was cheerying like a little shipper-girl when they got together, but the romance hasn't been handled well. It got tiresome really quick.

Select to view spoiler:

Hopefully, it will be handled better after the hiatus. Ausiello has reported that they will get back together.

What worries me most are reports that they are thinking of doing away with the over-arcing mysteries. :-( I love the overarching mystries. Rob Thomas, you must keep them!

Ironicly, the only episode of Veronica Mars I haven't seen is the season season episode that Jodd guest starred in.

Arcadia (aka Greyfable and/or Katie)
www.stillflying.net -- picking up Firefly were Joss left off. We will hold 'til he gets back.

There's no place I can be since I found Serenity.

Veronica Mars is one of my current favorites, along with Lost and Heroes. I am not a LoVe shipper, but I do like Logan as a character. Rumor is their relationship is likely to be back on again soon, but as he said at the end of the first season their story would be epic, and that usually means a bit of heartbreak from time to time.

The second mystery this year will of course be who killed Dean O'Dell, but because of the shortened season the last few episodes are reported to be self-contained stories, not a multi-episode arc. I'll be watching as long as it's on the air.

One factor that might work in its favor for a fourth season is that it is produced by Warner Brothers, which is co-owner of the CW network.

can NOT stand the Gilmore Girls. I find them annoying. #1 watches it religiously.

I will say that he also watches Veronica Mars and has sucked me in. He is tivo-ing the reruns from this season to get me up to speed.

TURQUOISEBOAT

Yeah, I like this show. I saw one ep. from the first season during a summer vacation. It was Mac's character that drew me in. I didn't get to start watching regularly until this fall. Talk about phrase-ology. This is the kind of show I like watching more than once. I never get everything the first time through; I'm slow on the uptake, you might say.

As long as they keep Logan's character on the show, I'm cool with the break up. Bring on the dark, wandering sides.

I'm assuming this show normally deals with homicides and all kinds of television-y dramatic stuff. When this season started it seemed like it wouldn't really need the now blossoming murder or suicide plots.

For some reason the first year of college in t.v. shows works for me. Season 4 Buffy is tops. But, how does one young detective find time to solve crime, maintain a flawless skin tone, and bake a mean meatloaf all in one day?

One of the reasons Rob Thomas said that they would be moving toward more stand-alone episodes is that it would be more difficult now to involve Veronica in a major crime that impacted her personal life as much as Lilly's murder did in the first season and the bus crash in the second.

Now, maybe if someone killed Sheriff Lamb. Then again, Veronica would probably only want to find out who did that just to congratulate them.

I am, for the record, saying that I don't care how the stories get told anymore, just as long as they GET told. Personally, I prefer longer arcs rather than stand-alones, but I'm all for anything that will keep the show on the air.

As for Logan & Veronica...I love them as a couple, and NOT as a couple equally. But I have to say I did enjoy the end where Logan intentionally got himself arrested in order to beat the crap out of Mercer!!!

Um, how about Lamb's forced to step down by some form of public humiliation and he's forced to be the sideman to a new sherriff, in the form of Captain Reynolds?

Count me in on the VM bandwagon. Unfortunately I don't have cable, so Season 3 has to wait for the DVDs to come out.

I guess this means I am not as big a fan as I am of "Firefly", because if "Firefly" had jumped to a cable channel I would have been at the door of my local cable company five minutes after the announcement.

Cliomuse, VM is on a broadcast network, The CW, not a cable channel. It is quite possible that they don't have an affiliate station in your area, so there is no guarantee it would be on a cable system in your area either.
