Goodnight, DTH! Sleep well!

LA29, you heard right. Not a Buffy Fan. Slight Angel fan, though. Never liked SMG as an actress, kinda ruined the series for me. I have watched almost every episode, and I do enjoy most of the characters, but just not a fan.
Does this mean you don't love me anymore?

Noooo Tara was the worst. Not only was she a worthless character but she also kicked Seth Green to the curb. Oz was a great character.

You should have seen me and my friend cheer when Tara died. Only to find out that just her brains were sucked out and Willow would later put them back in. At which point we sighed. Then she really died. Hooray!

Sorry, she just offered nothing to the show IMO.

Howdy, Ponderers!

Running away: Ooohh... sounds good to me. May I go, too?

DTH...in comparison to most of North America at this time of the year, Ireland is warm and sunny. Scary, innit? Have a good night!

I've found a way to make myself feel warmer. Convert the outside temperature to degrees Kelvin. Tonight it'll be a balmy 266.483 degrees. (try it here: http://www.emcarthur.com/convert/tempture.htm )

Bad Relationships (others): Depends on the friend. Some of my friends you can drop gentle hints to. Others...well, let's just say anything less than neutral would be considered vilification and ignored and said individuals then refrain from talking to you until the inevitable train wreck occurs at which point the first thing you hea from them is "why didn't you tell me "X" was such a 'fill-in-the-blank.'" Can ya tell I've hit this road before with a big thump?

NVG: Glad you're feeling better today!

And a cute puppy piccy, just 'cause.

Hm. I guess I kinda liked her.

I was always under the impression that the character was really just a device to initate a new path for Willow's character development. As such, there was value in her presence, but maybe greater value in her death.

But what do I know.

...

And now that I finally have a question to pose to the "Imponderables," everyone leaves. Ain't that just the way.

Didn't like her either. They should have let Amy be Willow's gf. She was a far under used character. Plus she was hot.

Zeek, I know you've gotten a lot of advise about a friend's bad relationship, but here's my 2 cents. Your friend seems happy with the situation. Leave it alone. If you care about the girl, give her a copy of the book "He's Just Not That Into You." If she doesn't get the picture, oh well, you've done your best.

Hell's Kitten, I'm planning a trip to Australia. If you and your friend decide to go to New Zealand let me know. I might be taking a cruise from Australia to New Zealand. It would be fun to get together on the other side of the world.

DTH, I'm on a roll. After Australia and Dragon*Con, I might be heading to Ireland. You never know. Is it nice in the summer, spring, and/or fall?

RIMG, old thread stuff. MsG, has all of those wonderful cat pics. You mentioned that you couldn't see the pics at work. You could only read the captions. Since you've been a little down lately, I was recommending that you go home and check out the last Imponderable thread with the cat picture labeled "Invisible Bike." I thought you would enjoy it. (Although if you do find an invisible bike at your house, I would love to see a pic of you riding it.)

Jeez, Dayve. You've gone all soft an' mushy on me. MsQ and I were just discussing our lack of ornamenting this year (as last year). And we're okay with it. (I have SO much stuff to catch up on re: Browncoats' Blue Christmases) I brought home a large StoveTop Stuffing Christmas Display (Gingerbready Cardboard with pictures of Xmas food in the windows-disposable kitch!) from job #2, and that's our version of a Christmas Village--we have a real one in storage--and the only thing we're going to do. It says Christmas, it says whimsy (not to be confused with our Whimsy), it is certainly unique, and it's ours. 'Sall we need.

More in a bit to address the Melancholia.

To you and DTH - Pregnant lesbians and speechlessness...Oh c'mon. Indeed it's fine and dandy. Two moms could be better than one. But regardless of anyone's viewpoint on the subject (especially Dick!), nobody's going after the obvious Christmas joke here...tsk, tsk.

Don't know if I've ever given anyone here the true impression of MsQ, not MsG--pay attention, spelling counts!--and my relationship. Everyone knows about their twinhood, but what Firefly characters do we remind you of? Well I'm guessing there's not enough info so let me answer that. Zoe and Wash. 100%.

Point is MsG may have a point. My thought is unless there's a peril involved in a relationship, that it is truly toxic or actually harmful, everyone has to find out their own truth. Or else it's not really theirs.

As his friend, Zeek, how comfortable are you with your relationship with him? Is he that shallow, or insecure? In either case, he might need some helpful friendly advice on just getting through life in general let alone how to treat a woman.

Ha ha! No. He's married and with children. I doubt he'll actually run away with me. And I don't mean that as romantically trashy as it sounds. He's a co-worker and I therefore don't see him as human. But in a good way. I should be quiet now.

But, yes! New Zealand! I truly loved my way-too-short time in Australia and New Zealand, and would happily go back any time. It would be a crime to go all the way to Australia and NOT visit New Zealand. Really.

There are so many places I want to go in 2007, I don't know that I'll have the time to go to them all. Unless I quit work. Which will probably happen sooner than later. Yes. Quit! Woohoo! Run away! *glee!*

...

Why is there no "Run Away With Me" thread? Hm.

EDIT: Random thoughts keep popping into my little brain. I was in Ireland once! On my way to Moscow. Shannon (sp??), Ireland, to be exact. An airport, to be exacter. I saw pretty flowers and a very old woman with purple hair. I have a picture of her somewhere. That was the extent of my stay there, but at least I got photos.

Not sure why either since the use of the adverb "sneakily" would be modifying a verb such as "flees" and would improperly used to modify a noun like "fleas" which has a verb form, "to flea" as a dog, but actually means to "DE-flea" and so is of dubious origin.

MSG...does there have to be a reason stated when asking someone out? Mine are usually along the lines of "I am captivated by you, under the spell of your beauty...the sparkle in your eyes and the way your lips gently curve when you smile upon the world strike deep into my heart. I desire to be near you, to hear you speak, see you laugh, breathe the same air as you...I throw myself at your feet as a slave to desire and longing". Sounds like fun - running away with Frodo to the New Zealand in Jonny's head. What beautiful scenery! It's absolutely gorgeous. Wait what's that? Adverbs neatly connected to their verbs? All verb tenses conjugated in order. Nekkid buxom women climbing the lush mountain. I think I'll leave Frodo free to roam the NZ in Jonny's head. I'm going to check out the real NZ.

Hey - do you all realise there way a coup in Fiji this week?? As an Australian who lives in the region, and who has sevral girlfriends planning a trip there in February may I say - You do not want to go there at the moment!!!!

Come to Australia instead - it is nice, friendly and on fire... I mean it is nice and friendly! And it is just a couple of hours from Middle Earth - but not so close that you have to watch your step for all those annoying little Hobbitses...

Edit: Damn I need to be patient and read to the end of the thread beofre I post - I might even refresh the page a little more often in the future!! Hi Nico & VerseExplorer! I'm trying to keep myself safe, but these scrub fires keep igniting.

Today's useless trivia: When exposed to a heat source (flames, glowing coals etc), the standard bushfire-fighting foam (that gets added to the water we spray on the fires), releases a sickly-sweet smell.

Oh, that's right you're in Minnesota. They talk funny up there...
Lord Of The Rings. First RIMG almosts outs you as a non-geek because of the Princess Bride thing, and now...this! I don't know. I think I need to re-evaluate things. Acid test: what kind of comics do you like?

*giggle* I was kidding. I was made to suffer through those three grossly over-extended movies. I only wish Sam and Frodo could have sat on that rock in the lava ocean holding each other tenderly for another couple hours.[ /sarcasm]

Comics? The Sandman (Neil Gaiman's version, not Golden Age) was the very first comic I purchased with my allowance, at the recommendation of my wise older brother. He am smart. After that, Wolverine was my second love. Hard to imagine, huh? *snikker* I'll fast-forward through the ages to present: I will buy anything written by Warren Ellis, Neil Gaiman, or Joss Whedon; many things by Alan Moore, Garth Ennis (Preacher!! coming to HBO ), and Grant Morrison; Matt Fraction's Cassanova is fantastic; Anthony Johnston's Wasteland is absolutely phe-nom-en-al; Hellblazer; um... mainly independents with some classical tights-and-capes comics (like Bendis' Daredevil) thrown in for geek's sake.

So, how's that acid test looking?

It was touching...And what was with the never-ending ending? Weren't there like 5 different places that the movie could have stopped with nothing really lost...

Damn. Burnt my litmus paper. Sigh. And double sigh. Though you frequently boggle my unbogglableness with--what shall we say?--a mature-ish take on life and its weirdnesses, I see we are of a different generation. I have indeed heard of several of the people/comics to which you refer (Joss Somebody is unfamiliar), but alas I've not read any except for Wolverine and perhaps the fast forward part (couldn't keep up). At least I now have a good recommendation list to forage through. Thanks. I'm a gold, silver, bronze age fellow, myself with an almost exclusive Marvel Comics bent. Pathetic, no?
