PHILOMEL

Probably Kaylee. She's still innocent, loves life, and has a very free, open attitude. Besides, all the other characters have suffered way too much to actually want to be them :-).

Phil.

KOFFEE

I would have to say Kaylee. I love that she always has a smile on her face. I try to be that way at work most of the time. Believe me, when I'm not in a good mood, people notice because I ain't smiling anymore. Plus she is innocent in appearance, but not so much in reality...."Have good sex....."

HKCAVALIER

I'd have to say I don't really want to be any of them, but I'd like to know several of them. If we could get Mal into a quieter lifestyle I wouldn't mind having him around. Seeing as we don't really know that Book's an ex-alliance spook, I can pretend that he's just been a really cool guy all his life and say I'd like to be him. The character's I identify most with would be River, Wash & the Ambassador because they're the sensative/funny/artistic characters in the show. Actually, now that I think of it, being Wash would be very cool, 'cause he gets all the best comebacks and he shares his bed with Zoe. My choice is clear.

HKCavalier

Hey, hey, hey, don't be mean. We don't have to be mean, because, remember, no matter where you go, there you are.

Zoe, definitely. I'd love to be able to kick that much ass and be married to the love of my life. Plus she's all kinds of hot.

I'm with HKCavalier on this - I wouldn't want to be any of them, but I'd love to ship out with them as a new member of the crew!

*happy sigh*

Wash,
Actually Mal, but that would be pretentious.
Ah heck, I wanna be Mal, have my own ship, keep flying, even if one has to depend on the pilot and mechanic and first officer who is smarter than you are by far.

"Wash, where is my damn spaceship?"

I would want to be Jayne, because he doesn't have a job on the ship. He can sit around and sharpen his knives while everyone else has a job to do. The only time he's called on is when he has to bash skulls, and that's not bad either.. and he gets 10%!

I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We've created life in our own image.

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Definitely Mal.

I can identify w/ the character of Mal on many levels. To me, Mal has a lot of depth, depth that I think Joss and the writers had just started to scratch the surface on when Fox in their infinite wisdom (please note HEAVY sarcasm) pulled the plug.

The feeling of betrayal, loss, and lonliness that Mal feels is well portrayed by Nathan. You get the feeling that Mal is a fiercely independant spirit that is out there on the fringe of space, looking for something, but just what it is, he does not know yet.

Brooding, scarred, and defiant. Very cool character.

"Brooding, scarred, and defiant. Very cool character."

And there is that Peter Pan playfulness, even in the middle of a war situation (See "The Message" "They don't like being shot at. I figured that out myself." scene) that is very cool.

Its kind of a weird mix. He's as grown up as he's got to be for the time and place. When he can, he's a big kid, despite the war and all the bitterness. Maybe that is why he hires Kaylee (besides being both prettier and smarter than the old mech). It helps him keep in touch with that part of himself.

"Wash, where is my damn spaceship."
