Also, there have been three Firefly/Serenity conventions over the years. (In London.) A fourth one is due in March, in Glasgow. Details can be found here:

There used to be a lot more of us when I first came here, way back when. I don't post much any more. I spend most of my time on this site in the Blue Sun Room reading fan fic!!

I go here http://www.cantstopthesignal.co.uk/ these days simply because there are more Bitish people there!

Hello none the less!

Another random public service announcement.

Got an email from the Prop Store of London.

"For those of you who can make it....we are exhibiting at the Memorabilia Show on Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of November at the NEC, Birmingham, England. Please feel free to stop by and chat with one of the members of our team and browse an exciting range of props and costumes from your favourite films."

They usually bring some Serenity props to display. If you can stop by and thank them for saving Serenity's
props from being thrown out in the trash or being left in a junk yard.

To see what they have to sell http://www.propstore.com/list/cat_id/8/pos//num_display/100/view/0/ob/

Click archive to see "some" of the stuff they have already sold. Great costume reference.

Hey all

I'm from Leicester and I'll be at Memorabilia on Saturday.

Glad the Prop Store is there but I wonder if they'll let me take any photos for reference.
I've been trying to work on the Academy data pads for River that they sell, but have no idea what the writing is cause the previews are too small.

Wear you're FF/Serenity gear and maybe I'll say hello.

Hi All

As part of Memorabilia (National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham UK), "Firefly" props will be on display. This will be the first time that the collection has been displayed in its entirety.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Firefly at Memorabilia.

Joss Whedon’s short-lived Sci-Fi romp ‘Firefly’ may be gone, but it certainly isn’t forgotten. Firefly fandom is alive and well and is due to be celebrated at the upcoming Memorabilia show this Autumn.

The Firefly collection will be on public display this November 25th and 26th at the NEC in Birmingham. The collection comprises many hand props and costume items, documents, photographs and models.

This is the first time the collection has been shown in it’s entirety, anywhere in the world. Items of special interest for fans of the show include Mal Reynolds’ original Browncoat, Jayne’s favourite gun ‘Vera’ and the only physical model of the ship ‘Serenity’ ever made.

Karl Derrick, the collection’s owner and a big Firefly fan, was a major contributor to the Official Firefly Companion book and will be on hand to sign copies and answer any questions visitors may have about the
items on display.

A professional movie make up artist, Karl will also be entertaining visitors to the show (in the Halloween spirit) with a daily ‘zombie’ prosthetic make up demonstration. Karl’s film credits include, Gladiator, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone, The Brothers Grimm, and The Mummy Returns. He has just completed ‘1408’, a Stephen King supernatural thriller, starring John Cusack and Samuel L. Jackson.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If anyone is attending Memorabilia - this is your opportunity to get "up close and personal".

Webwych

If you see Karl, that him for contributing to the Official Firefly Companion book .
