It is with the utmost sadness, sincerity, and malice that I make this post. We Browncoats have played nice for too long, while FOX has played as dirty as they like. I am now calling for us to unite in one unified ban of FOX broadcasting, effective November 05, 2006. I read this today on BlueSunShirts.com:

Quote:

Dear Fellow Browncoats:

We have recently received notice from FOX requesting that we stop making these products, and since we are small and they are mighty, we will be closing this site and moving on to other things.

It has been an honor to produce these goods for you. We have sent shirts all over the world, and in the process had the opportunity to meet many of you in the Firefly community. The fine company will certainly be missed. We will be leaving the site open until Sunday, October 08 for anyone to place final orders. If anyone has any need to exchange or return, we will be handling that for the foreseeable future. Anyone needing any fine quality screen printing, please feel free to contact us anytime.

See You in the Verse………

Sincerely,

Alex

I feel this is the final straw for myself and many other Browncoats. It is time to show them that they cannot stop [s]The Signal[/s] Our Signal.

I think you're a little behind the times, Benjamin. News of the "Cease and Desist" letters came out over a month ago. Various websites decided to close, or modify their product lines. What the lawyers are doing may be upsetting, and may seem counter-productive based on all the work browncoats did for the show, but it is their copyright.

We can ban FOX?

Okay, a couple of points:

a) The copyright people are 20th Century Fox, not FOX Broadcasting Corp. So the people who canceled the show are not the people who took action against BlueSunShirts.com

b) This happened months ago

c) Banning people from watching Fox has been tried 32i9403290 times (almost). It never works. This site has, what, 25,000 or so members? That's 0.001% of FOX's total audience. They don't care if you stop watching.

d) 20th Century Fox own to the show, and is perfectly entitled to stop people selling bootleg items.

Not trying to be a dick here, just pointing out some o' the facts.

Personally, I support the idea that t-shirts are free advertising, but then, I don't work for ye-olde-Fox.
