Sorry about the long title, but it was either that, or "Hail to the King". I know it's a little past Halloween, but I figured that we needed a song from Evil Dead: the Musical. ( http://www.evildeadthemusical.net/about.php )

Old thread can be found at http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=2&t=25003

Firstly, to carry over from the old ponderance, my first real kiss was when I was 15, nothing special about it.

New ponderance, based on the title of this thread. What movie or TV show would you like to see turned into a Broadway musical?

Aside from the obvious of Serenity (or certain eps of Firefly), I'd like to see a Blackadder musical.

Cardassian Demons?

Hey, somebody was asking about you in another thread, hoping you were okay, where you been and all that. I know I didn't get Firsts (congrats CMH) on this one but do I maybe get a prize for finding you?

Heh, yeah, between work and my health I haven't been around much recently. Work is still going at a crazy pace, and my health usually takes a nose dive around this time of the year (I was expecting it, so no worries), so I haven't been able to make it here as often as I'd like. But I'm here now, so hi everyone!

Thank you for starting a new imponderable. Buy the time I get to them they are usually 150 posts long and everything is pondered out.

So what movie would I like to be a musical?

"Lilies of the Field" would work for me. It ends with a song already and that works great for the movie.

California Kaylee!! We have missed you!! I'm so glad to see you and I have been thinking of you and hoping your health isn't suffering too much!! {{{HUGS}}} and kisses Sweetie!

Hey Nico! Why you lurking in Haven? I tried to call you out but...

OK... no point in avoiding it - Nigel Andrew, behind the tuck-shop near the oval... he had this rediculous patchwork leather jacket that I thought was really cool and the cutest English accent ever and I threw bricks at him until one of my best friends finally told one of his best friends that I liked him...

Well it was one kiss... not terribly knee wobbling or wonderful - didn't lead to anything... crush over - however my best friend and his best friend thought it looked like fun and gave it a go and dated for about 3 months...

... and I was sweet 16! (everyone say: awwwww....!)

I think "Fight Club" would make a great musical. The reason I say this is that the book/movie is so guy-oriented that a musical of it would just be funny. Sorry if I'm perpetuating stereotypes, but c'mon.

I just watched Army of Darkness the other day...maybe I should research this Evil Dead musical thing. I can't say as a guy that I have a lot of experience with musicals, but I think I have seen more than the average man, and I'm secure enough in my masculinity to say that...

Oh yeah - new ponderance...

Sorry where was my brain...???

Zoolander! There's so much possibility for choreography, especially with the 'Walk Off'... and so much scope for random cameo's when one star or another was in town for a night or two! What fun!

That's just off the top of my head mind you... I'll have a few others soon - no doubt!

Awww, Magdalena, that's so sweet. I didn't expect anyone would miss me, but it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy.

So far I haven't caught a cold or flu yet (Purell keeping at bay what a flu shot never could), so it's been more of a slow slide into my typical winter health, rather than a sudden flare set off by running a fever. Definitely better this way. I'm hoping that it'll be a more mild winter for me, health-wise, if I can keep from catching anything. Though, I just bought plane tickets for Christmas (officially my last Christmas with my siblings before any of us have babies!), and travel is always a crap shoot as to whether or not I'll catch something.

And oh man, Zoolander would make a hilarious musical. And on that note (har har), I nominate The 40 Year Old Virgin. Great movie, and I think musical numbers would only make the story better.

Oh btw, is anyone here going to Flanvention?

PHOENIXROSE

You think you know--what's to come, what you are. You haven't even begun.

So much to catch up on!!!
My first 'kiss' was when I was about 12. It was just a quick one with this boy who lived nearby. It was really kind of a "I want to see what this is like" moment, but we were such kids. I didn't have another kiss for about four years after that, when I was 16, and that was my first full-blown kiss with this guy in my high school. He turned out to be a lot lot more of a jerk than he seemed, but he was a pretty good kisser.
Bricks: I always preferred a sledgehammer. I've almost always made the first move, just a shy little touch or something, though I have pretty much never been the first one to move on a kiss. I remember when ex of doom and I were flirting a bit, and I just said "Hey, you kinda like me, huh?" And he just said "Yeah..." and it was actually a really cute moment. A couple hours later is when he kissed me. Guess once I hit him the the hammer he realized he could give that a shot. I don't really enjoy dancing around the issue; if I think there's attraction, I try to do something about it. Sometimes it takes awhile for me to be sure it's real attraction, and sometimes I need about a day to work up the guts to say something, but i'm not one to wait around for that kind of thing. Waiting around just leaves you waiting around. I can't easily approach a guy I don't know, though, I will admit that.
And sometimes, sometimes a guy will just start throwing some bricks of his own Can't say I mind that.
Um, okay, on to this thread now? No! I have to welcome Kel's wife to the fold! *waves* Hi!
As to musicals, I'm not a big fan of them myself, so I've got a big old 'shrug' on that one.
*hugs CK* Miss you dear!

WHITEFALL

Well all, i've not been around, and i'm not sure that's like to change... just sooo... much... to do. I just wonder what it was like, the weekends use to be a time when i could absorb excess work, and there was still time to spare. Now, not so much... but its always good to see our little corner of the verse marches on.

Ok, so no surprise here, but I've never kissed anyone, seventeen that I am. But I honestly dont believe in the idea of dating: I feel you can have vastly more meaningful relationships as a teenager if you dont even pretend to understand your hormones and just ignore them, and just be folk. So, never been kissed, but if I counted up how many people (when I say people I mean young women and the occassional young man-hug) I hug on any given day.... I think that more than makes up for this famous "first kiss" business, especially as it seems they all end badly.

Hmmm.... musical? Well, I'd love a Firefly musical, or any sci-fi musical for that matter. Lucky for me, Rent is already a musical, so no trouble there... Hmmmm... I think monkey island (adventure game) should be a musical cause its so darned funny.... hmm... and also, I'm reading Beloved, and parts of it look like they were writen for someone to add harmonies and make them songs. Eh, crazy me.

Love to all ya folks.

heya all!!
man, i don't come around for a couple of days and you all go crazy with the posting!

ummm...ok continuing on the older imponderable- i've always been really shy when it comes to making the first move. my first really real important kiss was with my very first g/f when i was 19. we went to the movies and i was really nervous cause i'd never actually been 'out' with a girl in such a public place before. so we're sitting there and i'm not even seeing the movie, i'm just saying in my head,'gah! i have no idea what i'm doing! i hope she kisses me soon!' and...welll..we ended up making out for most of the movie!

l LOVE musicals!! they are the best. and i would love to go and see the monty python musical. but i would love to get a x-files musical made. how funny would that be!

Oh Whitefall! You are a man among ... er ...teenagers I think! And I am sure that will change dramatically one day coz I have seen your picture - it is nice though to wait for someone special... don't rush it! And most girls worth a grain of salt will think it's more special that you waited too... I wish I could say my first kiss was with the love of my life... but then I'd have been 28... at least...

ShinyKitten!! Your story gave me goosebumps! I know that feeling of 'go on... kiss me... and then the joy and relief when it happens! It must have raised the stakes somewhat, too, to be with your first girlfriend! Most of us never think about the added soul-searching that probably goes with a same-sex relationship! You are just so gorgeous! And the X-files!! Yes - I'd pay to see that - I can't wait for 'Spam-a-lot' to come to Australia next year!! Am I coming up to Sydney or will you have to come down to Melbourne for that one?

Did somebody say Canadian demons?? But I didn't kill those men. And I didn't shoot the deputy either.

My first REAL kiss lasted twenty years. Took a while to work up to it, but man was it worth it. I'm the flirt and extrovert, she's the quiet stable type. How we ever hooked up is beyond me.

I have to say I love these threads, way to fast for me to keep up, but excellent conversation.

first kiss was, erm, either sixteen or seventeen, and there was an element of coersion from my mates, although I don't think I really held it against them was pretty pleasant, wasn't blown over, that was my second kiss did that (wasn't 20 years, but it did last the best part of a day and a night) but it was pretty enjoyable. bit off topic, but i think the best kisser i ever kissed, so to speak, was actually another man (i was very drunk, and feeling experimental, aside from him being a good kisser, it really wasn't for me) just a little aside to add flavour to a dull comment from myself ^^

oh, other news, i should be back online regularily as off either next weekend or early next week ^^

Hello to you all, fellow imponderers. HOw's the weekend treating you ?

NIco -Thank you so much ! I had no idea this existed & my husband works literally a few doors down from there . I'm going to make him buy me tickets. And I need to keep more up to date about what's happening in this city ,seeing as you're halfway around the world & you knew about it before me.
Now to the task of finding a babysitter.

And with the musicals , I'd have to go with Steve Martin's -The Jerk - it would be so funny. But thinking about it,most of my favorite stories have been made into musicals already. The Color Purple, Spamalot ( give me anything Monty Python ) Hairspray. Titanic, and even Lestat ,although thst's a book, can I count it?

Gomithrous: Thriller was nice but it was not in a mall (which scare me *shudders*) and none of the zombies got killed. Choreographed zombie killing is what I'm after as well as the dancing.

Ooooooh - some of my favourite people are about!!

Hello MsG Li'l Sis!! You know we are on! So cool to find someone to do my party trick with!! LOL!!

Hello sweet ShinyKitten!! Have you guys had a thunderstorm yet?? I was willing one - but the last time I sent a 'storm' up to Sydney it also fizzled... (Disclaimer: I do not follow ARL, it's just that my sister lives up there and I have heard all the jokes already )

...ahhh - were we supposed to be pondering something?

VERSEEXPLORER

Hi to any Imponderables that are still around!

Magda, nice to see that you're back online. I love Merlot, too. I just read that resveratrol in red wine will help to extend your life. Although they say you need about 100 glasses of red wine a day, so I'm trying to get my quota in for today.

I love all of the musical suggestions. I'm trying to decide if I have any favorites that would be fun as a musical.
