Jewel Staite has landed a new recurring role on Stargate Atlantis, according to her latest update on her Web site.

According to fan site SG1-Atlantis.com, Atlantis actor Joe Flanigan told fans at last weekend's London’s Expo event that Staite will appear in a whopping 13 to 15 episodes in Season Four.

Another BDM in a Stargate related role. At this rate, Firefly will eventually just take over stargate and will have our show back. See, we don't need to start a new series if we just take over an existing one.

I'm just messing around, congratulations Jewel.

13-15 eps? Wow. When I read Jewel's blog she made it sound like a couple of episodes. This is so cool. She must have made quite an impression on the producers to get a run like that. Heck, she'll beat out Morena for number of episodes. Or maybe the SG-1 producers saw how awesome it was to work with a Firefly actor that they had to sign another one right away.

I wonder who she'll play. Maybe a villain. Though I hope not. I hope she plays someone important (and human) who we'll see a lot of.

I think Farscape has dibs on this plan.

Arcadia (aka Greyfable and/or Katie)

It's always nice to see our faves get more work - especially considering how cutthroat Hollywood can be! Hooray for more parts!

And the previews of wash in CSI this Thursday are CREEPY HOLY COW. Wash as a child molester??? *shudders but still plans to watch*

I remember seeing a previous thread about this, and somebody said she was supposed to play a doctor or a scientist. So no wraith makeup this time around.

Everybody always has the advantage over us, but that's what makes us special...and Browncoats.

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Wonder why it took Gateworld so long to report this. Jewel posted the news about this role on her blog over a month ago.

EARLYWARNING

What are you talking about. Atlantis is on the Movie network every Monday. Fox every Sunday. And a Global or A Channel, channel practically every day. The pilot had been on about twenty times this summer.

That's really weird, as (I believe) they film in Vancouver. Sorry Canadian Browncoats!

Don't get the Movie network.

Nope, not on my Fox affiliate (out of Rochester).

Not around here. Only channels I've ever seen it on were Space (which aired Season 1 last year, then dropped it from their schedules), and City (which aired S1 last year, and is now. . . re-airing S1).

I don't even know what season they're up to in the US; I'm still waiting for the S2 DVD set 'cause that's the only way I'll ever see it.

Same thing happened with SG-1 at first: Global had the broadcast rights but were apparently only airing it in BC (or in three-year-old reruns, shown out of order and only when they had a hole in the schedule). They wouldn't let anyone else air the show until a couple of years ago (Space finally starts S10 this Thursday).

I'll believe you if you say it's on in Vancouver or Toronto, but those cities are their own little worlds with their own fully self-contained TV networks, unavailable anywhere else in the country.
