Hey all you Canadians.
Space is airing the two-hour premiere tonight starting at 7 p.m. Alberta time.
(That's 9 p.m. for you Torontonians.)
Check your local listings to make sure!

Trasie
(who, although she is gaming tonight, will do a jig when the VCR starts up)

It was as great as it always is.... only bigger!
Sweet to see on the tube again. And hey, in the proper order even. It feels like it has a second chance at life. Ahhh.

Remember, you only have to scare 'im.

Pain is scary.

Anyone know how well Firefly did in ratings? Or is it even possible to know that since it was on at different times depending on your time zone (6pm here - I burned my dinner trying to watch and cook at the same time). I don't know how they track ratings in Canada, is it the Neilsen system?

In Canada, only CTV and CBC ratings are tracked by Neilsen Media Research. I have never seen ratings published for any other Canadian broadcaster.

I think the "digi-stations" like Space count their success by how many subscribers they have.

Speaking of Space, why does they're Firefly page ( http://www.spacecast.com/shows/rerun/firefly.asp ) show that they are only 12 episodes? There were 15 ("Serenity" counting as 2 eps).

I am troubled

In Canada we also use the Bureau of Broadcast Measurements (BBM) http://www.bbm.ca

Space has picked up the entire run of Firefly including the three unaired eps. The web listing is just a little out of whack.

You know, it only took about a minute for me to think to myself "God I really miss this show!"

The quality of the writing, the humour, the depth of the plot lines are all unequalled by other shows.

And a BIG thank-you to Space for:

Picking up the series in the first place
Airing shows in the correct order
Show them in wide screen format
Showing the un-aired (in North America) episodes

Thanks Zaphod! I've always wondered about that.
