Sorry, all...I am having so much fun at work, I lost all track of time and forgot to post!

Sorry, that's out of my system now.

MSG, I wish I could make things better for you today. I like what the students gave you, though! At least they seem to understand!

SBDB, good on ya! Thank you for the update on the possible-maybe date situation! I hope it goes well after the holidays.

RugBug...aw, hell, no! Where is this ass again?
I don't have money to lead with...I'm not poor, but I'd like to think it is not my most attractive asset. And I don't look for it, either; I look for a person I would be happy with (although my track record for that is kinda flawed )...stupid bone-head deserves the fate I see has been cursed upon him by others in this thread!

MSG, I love your smack-downs! They leave my jaw hanging every time!

NVG, that was a very well-put note. I hope she chokes on it.

Has anyone else noticed that this thread is called "The Jester's Banquet" on the front page but when you open it, the title Nico gave it is "Winnebago Warrior?"

*confused*

MsG- I love Happy Bunny, too.

Tristan- If you liked that one you should check out the response in the " tough guy " thread:) Good to have you here though

Hey where is FMF anyway? I know she has to work, but drat it's really cutting into her Firefly time...She should definitely quit:)

MsG- I just read it and I thought it was excellent. To the point and well worded. I agree wholeheartedly.

Yeah I just saw that. WOW! I felt like curling up into a ball and hiding in the corner while I was reading. And it wasn't even directed at me! Thank god for that!

Thanks. I tried to keep it neutral and all, but honestly I do wonder why they keep posting like somehow we're going to start agreeing with them or liking what they have to say...of course with CMH it's simple a sad need to repeat the pattern of abuse.

Have to say, I was pretty upset with Kaneman that s/he told a new poster "eat sheit" in a thread welcoming a new browncoat. Thankfully, FollowMal came along right after and tenderly told the new person to ignore Kaneman.

What I don't get is that Kaneman had been acting quite civilly the last few weeks, for the most part. Why the turn around?

So there's this trend recently that I've been meaning to ask about. In the words of Joss, "But...these strong women characters..." I am quaking in my Manly-Mal boots here. Between the Weapons of Mass Destruction on display here and elsewhere, and the Vile Threats to Life and Limb against those who stand against us, 'twould seem the Fairer Sex be the one of Chivalrous Valor, and those of us who but scratch and grunt, are to be left to your tender mercies. Am I wrong?

"Well, here I am...Does that seem right to you?"

Tristan- frankly who he is concerns me greatly. I think he needs help in a serious way.
Kaneman on the other hand is either seriously suffering from disassociative identity disorder or is an ass. I posted again with a longer moment in the thread... hope it helps CMH. Really think he is in grave danger of a disassociative episode or a complete psychotic break...

Jonny- hey I grew up with a bunch of guys who are now- 1- a SWAT team member 2- a Navy SEAL 3- a firefighter/paramedic and 4- an Army Ranger So I don't really do cute and fuzzy...but I'm really good in a smack down

OMG, he's at it again. No, not CMH...I'm doing my best to ignore him. I was the one who tangled with him most on the road rage thread. A repeat is pointless. But more power to the rest of y'all.

Nope, I'm talking about Mr. Internet Loser. The latest:

"For a secretary you sure have alot pent up frustrations. You have a nice life and hopefully you can find a man who will put up with you - especially since you are past your experation date anyway.

LMAO - Life is really better when you make alot of money - should finish college - really. "

Hehee. Is it wrong that I'm having fun lambasting him? Am I a bad person for it?

Actually, when you take a step back, lookin' at that man, one can't help but laugh. That guy's a bigger dick than I could ever be, and I do, shame to say, have my dickish moments.

And has the oh-so-creepy CMH been up to more shinanegans since I was on walkabout? Where? Was it funny or just creepy? Has he admitted to being Hitler's illegitimate lovechild?

See? I'm cruel. But CMH, he's creepy.

G'morning imponderables...

*drags self to coffee area, pours a gallon of coffee*

Okay...now that I'm half-coherent...(and in no particular order)

Tristan: Yep, us teachers are sad folk...and do you think I can persuade you to donate any extras of yours at work to a nearby school? *big puppydog eyes* That or send it to mine?
As for the VIC20 and the TRS80, I can beat you on how long...Timex/Sinclair 1000 with tape recorder drive. (For those wondering: It was a "build-your own computer" which was a keyboard with 1K of memory -- you needed to provide your own monitor and tape recorder drive.)

Daylight Savings: As a person who lives where there is none, it doesn't matter to me, unless I'm trying to call folks on the continental US. That's when I need to remember if it's DST or not to arrange my phone calls. (...and I just has a really "interesting" experience this year trying to juggle an issue that spanned 3 countries, 4 timezones, and a burning desire to yank someone through their phone and out through my cell...)

Can't live without: Hrm...*double checks calendar* It's a bit of a toss-up. I'd say my MP3/radio, but I'm living without it right now (idiot me went swimming and forgot it was in my pocket), or my cell phone, but when the Islands did that little "hula" and the network was pretty much down...umm..yeah. I missed my 'net, and tv, too, though....

MsG...the lazy/cluless teacher's answer: "Whatever that section in the book says." I'm pretty sure that the questions were for the section of the textbook that the students had just read. Typical textbook editors...confuse us.

JQ: Yep, that picture is a rough idea of what the teachers look like when we hear of certain freebies: binders, folder paper, notebooks, working writing implements, acceptable "rewards"...Nowdays teachers are supposed to be a walking supply store for their students.

NVG: *hugs* Sister that needs a lawyer: I hope she figures out how lucky she is to have a brother like you.
As for the email for BabySis's ex: My vote is to keep a hardcopy and if ex continues, to keep the police informed...May as well keep the paper trail so if it comes to having to "discourage" him in a more physical sense...Well, the CYA school of thought always tends to the side of paperwork to line a house.
(Side note: Nice message! Civil, yet "take a flying leap off a nice tall cliff" message.)
*extra hugs tossed in 'cause we know what a sweetie you are*

RugBug: The doofus had the nerve to say that? I agree with the reporting of said asshat. *Note to self: after dealing with NVG's Ms. Inexcuseable, need to deal with RugBug's issue*
*wicked thought/strange thought here:* Since this guy is not too quick on the clarity, I'd vote to mess with his mind a bit...write him one last "Oh, I'm soo sorry that you're an asshat" type of letter, but using such "politically correct" language that would have him eating out of your hand and thanking you for calling him a teeny weeny quarter-incher.

SBDB: *hugs* It sounds like everyone else has provided you with enough info...I'll just stand here and cheer *pulls out the cheerleading attitude and does a "Go, SBDB, GO!!" cheer/dance* (If you haven't guessed it, yes, my students think I'm nuts for some strange reason. Don't know why *insert halo here*)

Tristan! *digs around up out of my pile and under another pile that looks Tristan-like* Glad to see I'm not the only one drowning in it. (I've reached the point that I start thinking about more of my job issues when I lie down to go to sleep! ACK! No more thinking at bedtime!!!)

Okay, gotta read all the fun flamage later. Hopefully I'll be on again to say more.

MSG, I understand your concerns with him. I do think he has issues none of us understand, but I do not think he's headed for a breakdown any time soon. Kaneman/River/whoever else is just an ass. Very apt observation.

RugBug...on behalf of men everywhere, please allow me to apologize for that jerk. We will find him and take care of him.

Neko, I'll see what I can do!
Wow, either you are older than I am, or you were a bigger geek! Sinclair 1000! Damn!

MsG: *applause* It's a lot nicer than what I could write regarding CMH. Apparently anytime anyone says anything negative (even if it's his attitude around others) he turns around an attacks. I figure it's easier not to bother with him.

Tristan: Even if he's not headed for a breakdown anytime soon, he's too close to the scary breakdown side for my comfort. I think I've dealt with only one or two individuals scarier than CMH attitude-wise...(and this is coming from a teacher who has their share of actually going in and breaking up fights in the classroom and outside of one.)...Actually, he reminds me of one student that my team had extreme concerns about regarding his emotional stability.

Oh...and Tristan, I admit it...my grandpa was a ham radio operator (extra class) and liked putting these kinds of toys together. (Might explain a few things about me...) We even had the membrane keyboard until he "upgraded" it to a regular keyboard.

Rugbug: Naughty girl! I'd be tempted to write something to him that messes with his mind even more..."While you may think that I'm some sort of 'Christmas cake'*, I tend to be more like a good wine or whisky**. You, on the other hand, seem to have mixed me up with someone who wanted your attentions. I'm old enough to know that 'sugar daddies'*** are only good when you buy them as candy versions during Halloween, so please take off your mask, put on your reading glasses, and stop playing with your daddy's dating account****...." (or somesuch.)

*looks around for an expiration date on women and men* Only one I can find was the one that will be listed when I expire. (Sorry, slightly morbid humor.)

*In Japan, they call women over the age of 25 "Christmas cake" since the idea of being past the date makes you 'past your exparation date' like Rugbug's idiot claims...
** I've seen a bottle of whisky aged 23 years or so in the barrel (I've heard that they tend to be damn fine drinks to savor)...*sigh* one day I'll be able to afford something like that...(anyone want to share in sampling it with me when that happens? )
***Sugar daddies -- those caramel-like suckers that only appear nowdays at Halloween.
****Yes, I know, I'm calling him a 'child' and yet an 'old man' at the same time.

p.s. Tristan is almost 13 months older than me. I checked! :innocent:

Neko!
I understand what you mean.
Ah, so it was someone else that built it! I was going to be very impressed for a minute there...ok, who am I kidding...I am impressed. I had forgotten about the Sinclair. And what is a membrane keyboard?
Oh, and if you do get ahold of a whiskey that old, give me a call...I'd be more than happy to help!

I don't see anything wrong with the thread having split personalities. Just because the name I changed it to when I edited my post won't stay in place, doesn't make it any less of a thread.

Um, I'm not going to comment on that one person that I ignore.
