Hey all, not sure if this has been addressed but was wondering why Greg Edmonson (who did a fabulous job composing Fireflys soundtrack) wasn't chosen to compose for Serenity? And David Newman was?

Thanks!

It's even more complex than that - the original composer for Serenity was Carter Burwell who left the project due to "creative differences":

The fact is Greg was always unlikely to be the composer as movie studios demand movie composers to do movie soundtracks.

Especially since this was Joss's first movie. They certainly didn't want it to be the composer's first movie as well.

I like the music, and I'm not complaining, but It could and should of been better.
