First, I'd just like to say that although I love Firefly, &c. I am new to this boards so: heyllo!

Now for my post:

One thing that caught my attention when listening to the commentaries on the DVDs (if I remember correctly) is that the many themes of Firefly all tend to relate to the little guy standing up to the big guy and getting crushed, and standing up again.

As anyone ever mentioned that this is pretty much what happened to Firefly itself? Firefly stood, soared and was crushed by Fox (we've all heard how much influence Fox exerted on the show, just listen to the commentaries with Joss). Yet it stood again as the movie Serentity!

When and where will Firefly take its next stand?

Welcome TPage!

Keep your eye out for FollowMal and she will fit you with your own Browncoat.

As for your question, I think the answer is Serenity. That was Firefly's next stand.

welcome aboard, Tpage!

You are right, Firefly's theme bears a similarity to how things played out. Still, it's the truest of American stories.....the little INDIVIDUAL stands up to the giant, get's a good beating for himself, and comes back for more, never saying die. We did that once in the late 1700's and the spirit never left us since.

WE'RE GONNA CRASH? I DON'T WANNA CRASH!
