Thank you Bar Bot *accepts the proffered Bailey's and waves to those lurking in the dark corners of the pub* Good night! *pop*

I see, so I am a Bar-Bot now ?!?!?

Someone enlighten me as to what Vegemite is, please.

Afternoon! Yum! Thanks, RiverIsMyGoddess! The mango is just the right touch.

Huh, reading the description, it looks like vegamite is definitely off my diet plan. Can't have salty stuff. But I had been curious as to what it tasted like so thansk for the description.

Ok, so it's not brown, but it's worth posting anyway.

If you find yourself getting too worked up about stuff that isn't real (RP Threads etc), then go outside, breathe in some fresh air and try feeding the ducks. (Because ducks don't care about your politics, religion, skin colour, choice of music or even your haircut. They like everyone, provided you bring them food.)

Mimosa! Orange juice and champagne. Excellent brunch drink.

Vegemite: similar to Marmite.
An Aussie could describe it best.
Sort of extremely reduced beer sludge/soup. Supposed to be quite nutritious if you can avoid instant dehydration from the SODIUM. Used as spread and soup starter. Kind of like industrial strength bullion paste is what I gather.
A delicacy and cultural phenomenon.
Similar to grits in that respect.

We could try a cultural exchange! Vegemite on Graham crackers!

Or not...

Going to bed to go camping tomorrow with son's school. Yes, there will be S'mores.

stupid delayed shipments. It looks like my stuff won't be here until at least saturday.

* kicks the fools who caused the delayed shipment of Nicodemus' shinyness (sic)

* pours a couple of ounces of Bailey's into a shaker, adding milk and chocolate sauce, then shakes it in a flurry of arm movement, straining the frothy beverage into an ice-cold glass

* mixes champagne and orange juice in a tall flute

I got impatient and looked up Vegemite on wikipedia. It looks, uh, interesting, and I am sure it is an aquired taste (very much like beer itself). Still, I won't knock it until I try it.

It's a very aquired taste, and I for one can't stand the stuff.

And as for the delayed shinyness, it just means I'll be getting an even bigger hit of shiny goodness next week, as the collector's tin edition of the Firefly DVD set comes out next tuesday.

and coming up for christmas, the perfect gift to give to all not-yet-browncoats, the single-disc edition of the BDM for only $12.95 (converted to US dollars that's probably only $8, maybe $9)

Putting Serenity into the search box of Ezydvd (one of many retailers), brings up 7 results. http://www.ezydvd.com.au/mech/quicksearch.zml?f=title&q=Serenity&x=12&
y=7

Admittedly, 2 of them are pairings with another movie, but it's still more sales. If I had a PSP, i'd get that version as well so I could watch the BDM on the way to and from uni all the time.

The thing I like best about the 2 disc editions in region 4 is the hour-long Q&A session Joss had with the sydney browncoats after the sneak preview screening of the BDM. For now, it's as close as I'll get to being able to sit in on something like that, as any cons that feature Firefly/Serenity are out of my range (both pricing and travel).

"No power in the 'verse can stop me!"

Hey Nico - i ordered my Firefly companion through Dymocks - they'll order just about anything from world wide and it is cheaper there than through any other source I tried in Australia! Borders have it but on ly in small quantities and they don't hold stock that hasn't arrived so it's a lucky draw there... and of course they'll have woefully underestimated the popularity of the 'verse in Australia!

I'll make a little voodoo doll for you though - so you can do nasty things to the silly old shipping people... just coz - you know - I'm forsaken and all...

Consider it bumped. I'll hopefully be in later for that drink.

There's another way to find stuff. Go to Google, type in what thread you're looking for them type site:fireflyfans.net.

So what you were looking for you'd type "introduction and my story" site:fireflyfans.net and you'd get the links.
