So Channain and Johnnyreb got me thinkin about who of Serenity's crew I'd like to hang out with the most. This naturally led me to think about all of the other things I'd like to do on Serenity. First off, I'd need to explore the hell outta the ship. So many nooks and hidden places. I have theories about many multiple entries to the ship. I would need to spend time with every member of the crew, and question them good, in my own style. I bet I could get some good info outta Book... Inara too. I would need to fly the ship of course. Pull off some crazy maneuver. What are some things y'all would want to do?

(I bet that there is already a thread aboot this somewhere else on the site, but I sure didn't look very hard for it.)

OK in that Verse that don't exist. I would be making every play to win the heart of that fine young mechanic. I mean Roses, Poetry, Sappy 80's ballads & of course chocolate & strawberries & anything else that girl wanted.

Sorry Simon, you had your chance.

(in the Verse that don't exist)
Otherwise I'll keep spending my "shiny" days winning the heart of my Wife!!!
& of course watching Firefly!!

While Stillshiny was sweeping Kaylee off her feet I'd be hanging on a certain doctors arm.

And when I wasn’t doting on Simon, I'd want to fly Serenity or just hang out in the common room talking to Wash, Jayne or Book. Going on a mission would be great fun too... that is until I got shot like everyone eventually does.

I think the first question to be answered is: what is my job on Serenity. I doubt Mal would take kindly to my freeloading, exploring and eating all their food, if I weren't helping out. Supposing I was, say, the co-pilot, I would get to fulfill fantasy # 1. Piloting Serenity. Then I would explore every nook and cranny. Then I would decorate my room, ya know, make it "man-town central." Then I would devote every waking hour to getting Inara to bend the rules a little. Then, I would lean back, put my riding boots up on the table, light a cigarette, sip some blue sun, and watch the universe go by out one of the portholes. Then I would play with that fold out toilet that flushes when you kick it back into place. That thing is just cool. Oh, to dream...C'mon NASA get the gorramn lead out!

Since no ship councilor exists, I would apply for that job. Everyone on that ship needs serious help.

Ships optician? I could make myself very useful. In my free time I could clean Jayne' guns.

Morbid and creep-ifying I got no problem with.

I hadn't even thought about needing a reason i.e job, to be able to stay on Serenity. Do you think they might need a technical writer, or someone to do their taxes?

Well, lets see. Been on subs, so I can deal with a lot of the mechanical stuff, any electronics they need messed with. Bet I could pilot, if Wash needs a spell, (or Zoe needs Wash to need a spell).

Fair shot with a pistol or rifle. But in up close brawling, not so much. I know how to use a sword. (Pointy end goes in the other guy)

Did a spell once as religious lay leader, so could possibly spell Book too. Ceptin I ain't Christian no more.

Am way too old for Kaylee, Zoe's married, and Inara would not serve crewmembers. Seems a might lonely for a guy. But to be out in the black, exploring strange new worlds and new odors...

A job???? I don't know, cept it never hurts to have someone to help manual labor. I can do that stuff. Of course in the Other Verse I think I'd be mighty adept at mechanicin' (I know it ain't a word) That way Kaylee & I could get our job done twice as fast. So what about that whole "don't need 2 mechanics thing?" Hmmmm. Well, it's my verse so I would also have some skill in the whole fighting thing too. Not to mention the cap'n would see how happy I made Kaylee and that I was good at fixin stuff that was broke, and realize I wasn't no lecherous hump like Fester, and keep me on. Of course I would have to have a secret too. I'd have to think on that one.

Gorramit this is so much more fun than work!

Friday: a holiday in and of itself.

Well, on the boat, we used to watch a lot of movies, when we weren't reading or doing qualification

For those who don't know, training NEVER stops in the nuclear navy. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER. You have to constantly read tech manuals, write up lesson plans, give lectures to the new guys, etc. etc. etc.

But after a point, you do need to take a break. Or else you would go insane. And there are a ton of movies that no one has ever heard of, for good reason.

Gambling is frowned upon, for good reason, and drinking is not allowed. (Although there is always a rumor that someone has set up a still somewhere) Which leaves reading and movies.
