Another one that I do a lot is just slip quotes into conversations...however when I do this around people who don't know what firefly is, I tend to get some funny looks...oh well!

Well, since I don't curse the use of ruttin' and gorram have been invaluable to me, as I am always looking for more words to make it, you know fun and interesting. And I've taken to hitting people with open hands, more and more often. He was right, it is pretty funny.

Phrases or a way of speaking. I'm not sures of a what else I pick up. But I've gotten into the bad habit of naming my things after the cast (like Jayne does with his weapons).

hm... well since I watched serenity and firefly I always put my thumb into my front pockets and then the rest of my hand hangs over my pockets (mal has done it).

I'm actually chinese, but Mandarin and Cantonese are second languages to me. Nobody finds it wierd when I do swear (I do live in asia), but I would be like "gorram" (and then people stare at me). I also quote the show a lot, and talk about Firefly a lot (hehe). I have become addicted to a certain fan site forum *cough cough*. Also, everywhere I go I get new ideas on what graphics to make for firefly and serenity.

I also talk in a western accent (which people in school are like "Holy crap you have a good accent", just cause of firefly.)

"Dear Buddha, please bring me a pony and a plastic rocket..."

hehe, I do the hand thing, too.

Oh, something else I noticed - when I'm deep in thought, embarrassed, or spacing out, I tend to rub my collarbone with my hand like Simon in Objects in Space.

Only, I use my left hand 'stead of my right. When I realize I'm doin' it, I usually switch.

Now, you've got my interest. Lots of people have names for cars, but what are you naming, and what's their name? I'm mighty curious.

definitely shiny, and eating strawberries slowly. Lots more that I don't realise until my daughter looks at me (in that special, teenage, Mum you're embarrassing me way) and says - that's a Firefly reference isn't it? God you're a geek.

It's so unfair. I'm a browncoat. Geeks are a different colour all together.

Nothing much, I just keep saying "gorramit" ALL the time. With friends who know the series its "gorramit Mal!" but others are often confused by my gorramits. It's become a regular part of my speech now I dont even think about it.

Well, it's usually me saying that to you, isn't it.

Anyway, I've taken to wearing my brown coat a bit. The biggest thing is quoting things. And I'm not just talking about speaking the quotes- I often find myself thinking "Yep...that went well..." or things like that when things aren't going well.

2. I started saying shiny and gorram-it. (Now lots of people in my school say shiny)

Oh, you don't even want to KNOW how often I burst out into laughter. XD For instance, I forget what exactly we were talking about, but in my British Literature class my teacher mentioned Robin Hood, and said, "You know, that entire rob-from-the-rish, give-to-the-poor scenario?" And it took ALL of my willpower not to burst into the chorus of "The Hero of Canton."

And I mean all my effort - my friend even asked me, "Do you have to go to the bathroom or something?"

SHROUDED: thats just hilarious! I tend to burst out laughing when Im in a waiting room or some place quiet because my mind just kind of wanders to Firefly. Of course I get the strange looks when I do that and then they scoot a few chairs down. But oh well, they'd laugh too if they knew all about it.

Of course, Firefly jargon tends to creep more into my own vocabulary. It drives my husband nuts. I'll be talking normally and then all of a sudden I'll start saying "ruttin", "undo fussin", and "be on your merry". He shakes his head and rolls his eyes. Then he asks if he can have his wife back now.

I also got really interested in guns, which is competely out of character. I've never even fired one but I recently bought a beautiful 12 gauge pump action shotgun. I dunno why... but when I saw her I had to have her. The hubby refuses to let me name her Vera.

Kaylee's voice pops into my head whenever I'm eating an apple, and now I can stomach eating energy bars because I just pretend that they're molded protein or a big supplement bar.

Whenever I pass by the clothing store "Woolies" I have to go in because it has perfect "River" wear.

Wow, I think my obsession maybe getting a little weird. Oh well, its fun!

Haha, when I slip into old-western slang, my mom rolls her eyes and goes, "Stop talking like Firefly."

If I were you, I'd start callin' her Vera behind your hubby's back. he'd never know, 'less he snuck up on you someday.

Well, my laptop's Jayne, my car is Hoban "Wash" Washburne, and my PC is Zoe (Like a Motherfuting Tank)

Funny thing about Wash...

Me: "Damn it! Why did I have to name you Wash?!"
Bud: "Don't think about it"
Me: "I can't! Gahh!! WHYYY???!!!!"
*Talk about something else. Silence again*
Me: "....Damn it!"

I was like this for a good solid couple of months.

I can understand how Wash the Car would be very difficult to drive home in from Serenity. Although, it must be reassuring now to know that Wash lives on in your car.

Indeed. Though I worry how I can transfer the essence of Wash whenever I need a new car.

MACAVITY

Myself, I've only picked up a couple, being as I'm relatively new to Firefly/Serenity (although I like what I've seen so far).

My main one is saying "I am a leaf on the wind" any time I'm up against some particularly stiff competition in any of the games I play (but mostly in Initial D v3 or UnWheel).

"First come smiles, next come lies. Last is gunfire." - Roland Deschain, gunslinger

STOWEAWAY

My husband and I are both huge fans so we quote the show frequently to each other. I've started asking my children about terrifying space monkeys whenever I find that a bomb has exploded in their room. Although, in retrospect, that may be why they're having nightmares.
And lastly, I've noticed that lately I am drawn to object that have Asian flair (clothes, decorative items, even dishes). It's not intentional, more subconscious. But I'm pretty sure I picked it up from all the beautful things on Firefly.
