The surly mailman just threw (literally threw!) the package with my Blue Sun shirts at me! They are here and they are beautiful!

My only problem: I think I ordered 2 large, 1 XL and got 2 XL, 1 L. Any chance of a swap?

Anyway, to sum up: Beautiful, perfect, shiny. I now live in fear of River's wacky butcher knife fun.

Hey sorry to bug\insult you. But are you selling a Blue sun shirt on ebay? I only ask because the seller claims it is an original worn by a cast member and it is coincidental that your shirts arrived so close to the auction date. So have you put any of your shirts on Ebay? (I know this is insulting, but I would rather offend you than waste money on a fake)

PS. Any chance you have any more blue sun shirts for sale? Because now I have the finaces to buy one.

I bought one for a Browncoat friend and gave it to her today. She squealed and whooped for 15 minutes and said "I'm going to wear this on my hot date tonight!"

This is how it will spread.

Not at all! The shirts were made in my little town, and I have nothing to do with any that are for sale on eBay. I just got the artwork and had the tshirt shop make them up. So they are totally inauthentic, but very shiny all the same.

embassy,
I don't really care but do you know if the chinese design under the letters BLUE SUN say "blue sun" too. I am just a little worried that I might insult some nice unsuspecting chinese person by swearing at them (or worse?) I just wanna be sure.
Thanks sooooo much we love our shirts.

According to: http://www.fireflyfans.net/thread.asp?b=14&t=1782:

It says, "Blue Sun"

I was concerned about that too..what if it said "Your mother has the head of an antelope," or something. Given what passes for English on, say, Japanese t-shirts or Korean DVD player instruction manuals, it's a legitimate concern.

Hey Embassy,

Thanks for answering my question, however you have not ansered if you have anymore t-shirts to sell. Since i believe koffee is bidding for the original one I mentioned, I would like to have one of yours.

EDIT: BTW, how hard was it to get the shirts printed? I ask because I have a few shirts of my own design that I would like done.

The shirts were fairly easy to get done. My local shop was a little backed up, and then I had military reserve duty for two weeks, which accounts for the delays, and sorry about that browncoats.

I don't have any left, but I have received enough emails that I'll probably have the shop run off a few more in a month or two.

Final bills, by the way, came to $527.44 for eighty shirts, 147.95 for postage, and 40.92 for envelopes and mailing labels. The total price for all the shirts was $815.00 (some of them were oversized). The homeless vets hereabouts will be getting a check for $100.00 from us browncoats.

Embassy.

I feel that I should lurk less and actually pipe up here.

I've had a shop on cafepress.com for a couple months now called Blue Sun Stuff. You can order all sorts of Blue Sun gear from it, including clothing, frisbees, clocks, stickers, etc.

I originally set up the shop just so I could order my own t-shirts -- which I've been proudly wearing around Vancouver for a couple months now -- but I hadn't mentioned the shop anywhere because I was concerned about the legality of using the blue sun logo in a pseudo-commercial fashion. (When Fox put the logo on their fan site, I didn't think it was clear how they intended it to be used.)

Anyway, screw all that, and check out my shop at http://www.cafeshops.com/bluesunstuff

I haven't marked up the base price of the merchandise, so I don't make a dime off the sale of this stuff. As I say on the site, I'm just spreading the Firefly goodness!

I actually use an "improved" version of the logo. Upon close inspection of Fox's original, there were a few rough edges and other minor defects that I cleaned up to achieve a better image. I only have experience with their t-shirts, but the garment quality is very good. They appear to use an iron-on transfer method for their printing, but it too appears to be very high quality.

The customer service at cafepress.com is EXCELLENT. I complained when the logo on my first t-shirt wasn't bright blue enough (it was more of a navy), and they sent me another one for free.

Anyway, for those who are interested, take a look.

Oh, and BTW, the Chinese characters do in fact say "Blue Sun" -- at least according to my Chinese co-workers.

I find it amusing that the eBay listing for that Blue Sun shirt describes the characters as "alien symbols" or some such thing. The seller is obviously not a fan, nor terribly knowledgeable about other writing systems.

Yay for Homless vets getting money from browncoats!
Also, embassy, let me know if and when you are going have more printed. i would definately like to order a few more. "modified" mine this morning by cutting off the sleeves & cutting the collar to a v shape, tying the sleeved to make it more girly. I now have a punk-chick version of the Jayne cut-off shirt.
Thanks Embassy!

Hothersale, I was just looking at the sizing charts on the site and realized that they have underwear. I think it'd be neat to have a pair of white panties with a blue sun logo on the side near the hip. Ok, so I'm strange, but it popped into my head.

Embassy, I'd love to see these shirts everyone is raving about too.

I added the underwear that was available. Hope you like thongs.

Actually, there's a whole bunch of possible things that I haven't offered, just because it takes a couple of minutes to set up each item. If anyone wants any of the things listed below, just ask, and I'll add them to the store:

Journal
Trucker Hat
Audio CD
Data CD
Military Bear
Golf Shirt
Men's Tank Top
Boxer Shorts
Infant/Toddler T-Shirt
Infant Creeper
Bib
Stainless Steel Travel Mug
Stein
Tile Coaster
Tile Box
Teddy Bear
BBQ Apron
Baseball Cap
Black Cap
Visor
Bumper Sticker
Wall Calendar
Calendar Print
Greeting Cards (Package of 6)
Postcards (Package of 8)
Mini Poster Print
Small Poster
Large Poster
License Plate Frame
Tote Bag
Messenger Bag Gray
Book

Not all things will work super well, however. The bumber sticker, for example, is long and rectangular (as bumper stickers tend to be) and doesn't really lend itself to the size and shape of the blue sun logo.

Anyway, just let me know if want to see anything else in the store, and I'll toss it in.

Too bad it's a thong. :( Don't get me wrong, thongs are... well, there are times when they're good. But I was thinking of something else. Maybe they'll add other pieces one day.

Whoa -- 80 shirts!?! That's a lot of work -- for you.
Anyway, I got mine yesterday in Toronto after package spent a day or two in customs. Package was inspected, BTW. Maybe you'll get some more orders from Canada ;-)

But what-ev-er! I now have the shirts and they are really great.

A big (uh, manly) hug to you for your generous efforts.

be seein' you
