Sod. I have a really good picture of my Mogzilla glaring into the camera in a yellow-eyed way that even a Wild Thing would be proud of. But I can't upload it at work.

hello, hello, hello.... feeling slightly flaky today.

Ohh, I got Finding Serenity to read on holiday, and it was excellent, when I was laughing, I was nodding thoughtfully and saying: "Wow, I never knew that...", or "That is so right..."
Only one I didn't like was the "Just shove him in the Engine" Essay about chivalry. that made me mad. Firefly vs. The Tick, and Mirror/Mirror, A Parody are my favourites. Not got the OVC yet, but tis on my wishlist.

Forgiveness: I find it hard to forgive people if they have really hurt me, I mean lets face it, I'm still getting my revenge on the hwoon dahn who humiliated me when I was 12, but there you go. There is one person that I cannot stop forgiving though, and I don't know why, she smokes, drinks and does drugs, the three things that i will emphatically not do, and she just keeps using me, but me, sucker that I am, just keep on being there for her when she needs me.

Example: last night, the fair was in my village, and she rings me up, asking me if I want to sleep at hers. I said yes, Then she springs the fair on me. Now my mum guessed correctly, that she only wanted me to come so that her mother would let her go, as my friend had not told her mother that her emo drink/smoke buddies were going to be there, and fully intended to ditch me once she met up with them. Fortunately, she had already done this to another friend of mine a different time, and said friend agreed to come with me, so I wouldn't be a billy. I ended up spending the whole night at the second friends house, watching CSI, because guess what the user girl did!
The fair was rubbish anyway, as the dreaded Runcorn chavs were there, who tried to fight one of my male friends (while he was sat down. stood up he's about 6foot with shoulders like an ox)and another randomly jumped on another of my male friends for no reason. Now this lad is as quiet and as sweet a guy you'll ever meet (despite being a player of epic proportions, and this smashed chav just jumped on him and started beating the out of him. Poor lad had two black eyes and a bloody nose (with yearbook picture day on monday), and had to go home. He will be pressing charges. I hate those damn chavs, they have to wreck everything for everyone.

Oh my, that was a long rant, and I've now lost sight of who I'm madder at.

Hmm, archery I was never good at, because the damned aroow always gets caught on my double-jointed elbow. Hunting though, I know a girl who's been with the hunt 4 years, and all they've ever caught is a squirrel's tail and a ha;f-dead myxamatosis (sp?) rabbit.

Age-boundries: I would say that I will probably end going for an older guy, well, at the moment anway as I am like a bazillion times more mature than any guy in a five-year radius. Speaking of this anyway, Its been nearly 2 years since I have been seriously attracted to anyone (I have met in person - Alan Tudyk notwithstanding!) I am begining to get rather worried.

the post is now getting to long, so i will begin anohter.

Aww! Whitefall! You lucky so-and-so, I hope all goes well for you.

Anyone seen Seryn lately, or have I missed her whilst away?

Being too young for the lot of you, I shall watch over the virutual squabbling for affection, with my shiny wand and dainty wings and make sure everybody stayeth happy!

Shiny wand? Dainty wings? Yay! Can I pull out mine?

I agree with you on the disliked essay, by the way. Guy didn't even have his facts totally straight; he obviously watched the show once with minimal comprehension. I forget where he cites an episode, but it's totally wrong. Anyway. I also thought "I want your sex" (I think it was that one) was a little odd. The interpretaion of certain things wasn't totally wrong, per se, but not totally right, either, and a little reactionary.
My favorite (everyone pretend to be surprised) is "Whores and Goddesses" followed by "The Rise and Fall (and Rise) of Firefly" with all the letters from 'Early Jubal'. Ah man, I'm cracking up just thinkin' about it!
Yeah, tangeant. I need to go mail my car payment now...

*sighs*

Bad news... I had a migraine and went to bed at 7.30pm so I missed most of the squabbling for my affections...

Good news... It's 2am and I am over said migraine and wide awake so look out - I don't think I'm going back to bed or my sleep patterns will be all mesed up!

Penguin - I understand their fear of your moggy's lightening reflexes - though Emma's gun did alter the score somewhat... I think Operative cat won the day!

( to Emma for putting up a fight!)

SBDB - sounds like you really believe your friend needs a friend - often that is what has kept me around when I knew a friendship was a one sided affair. I never gave up on it until there really wasn't anything to give up on... - we're here for you Darlin'!

I am 'bout half way through 'Finding Serenity - reading an essay a night - so I haven't read all those you mentioned but I agree with you GPR! I loved the 'Early Jubal' one - so very tongue in cheek but so very much the way I imagine it went (in a non-serious-fashion)... I also enjoyed 'The Reward, the Details, the Devil, the Due' by Larry Dixon - first one in the book! I read it twice already and I haven't even looked at some of them!

So - it's Saturday at last for some of you - isn't it?

What's on the adgenda? (& can anyone work a male/female imponderable into it for me - I've got a 'migraine hang over')

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

It isn't over! I shall win your fair hand if it is the last thing I do. (I know you don't swing that way but I believe that, given enough time, I could change your life view!)

ooooooooh great evening. I'm now all stuffed with homemade authentic greek food and my feet are all worn out. Went to the annual Greek Festival in our city at the Holy Trinity Church and danced and sang and ate myself into a coma on a ton of food. Bought a fantastic pair of earrings from Greece and had a bunch of college guys think I was their age ( met up with teacher friend who's in grad school and she brought another friend and we bumped into more of their med school chums) I had a blast...I was even all nice and brought MisterG home some of the desserts so he got a taste of the festival too:) He was scheduled for a raid and couldn't go:)

Magdalena, yes, thank you for that! Very sweet smile you have there!

While I generally agree about English as a wonderful, beautiful language (when spoken properly), I also think meanings can often times be ambiguous...which could lead to communication issues. But it is also one of the best languages in the world for double entendres, innuendos, and puns!

SBDB...older guys, huh? Take a tiny bit of advice from an older guy...don't get someone too much older than you.

Emma, just want you to know I have not forgotten the buckles...I am hip-deep in sewing Browncoats and now poodle skirts...may take me a few days to get things squared away.

Hey Tristan, I know it's earlier there than it is here, but I'm surprised to see you up so late! A project will do that, though, I know. Glad you already had the shiny book (and I want to see your Zoe vest when it's done) and I'm glad you're here!
*edit* And you're going to bed! Heh. 'Night!

Ah, the intricacies of language. I've got a whole thread in the Blue Sun Forum all about grammar (see too many mistakes in stories. And posts for that matter). Writing it all out made me realize how complex English is. No wonder people say it's so hard to learn as a second language! (hell, some people can't learn it properly as their first/only language! Does that seem right to you?)

Oh, I know exactly what you mean, magda! But it almost is something you have to devote yourself to and kinda be a geek about if you're going to use some of the more obscure words. That might be why people think you're showing off. 200,000 some-odd words exist, and I don't think anyone could know what all of them are! I would be happy if everyone just knew how to use "common" words properly, and then we could focus on expanding vocabulary.
That being said, the dictionary.com Word Of The Day is one of my favorite things ever! I learn so many interesting words there. (I dont remember all of them, sadly)

That's such a funny thought!
No, we had one earlier, didn't we? With the whole gay thing. Then there was the battle of kittens and we got distracted. But that's okay, too.

Oh!! thought of one! hope we've not already had it.

Is something about the appearance of a member of the opposite sex that will put you off immediately, even if you're not shallow?

Don't think we've had that one! A horrid deformity or a full beard. To a lesser extent, scrawnyness (though ex was pretty scrawny, but not overly) or a really blank expression. That's all I can think of off the top of my head...

mmuscliness is good, but too much, like a kind of Mr Universe thing going on, where they all just bulge, I think is kinda gross, especially those muscles round the neck. eugh.
Edit:
Just realised, how Mr Univesre could be taken, I mean the body building one, not the Serenity one!

ANOTHER EDIT: What? We're ponderin??? Well - I think it would be something like a sleezy expression or an attitude that was apparent on first glance rather than a physical idiosyncracy. ... not that I'm very fond of the over-muscly type either sweet thing! Magda x x
