Well mt eyes werent deceiving me before, in my quest to build a 3D serenity I thought that the firefly craft looked different in different shots, and I'm not just talking about the tail vents opening up.

I have been gavering my proof, and I have concluded there are at least two different serenity CGI models used.

Exhibit 1

The most famous picture of serenity, from FOXs own website, or is it?

Actually no, it isnt, I thought at first it was just reversed because of the wheel window at the top, but its more than that, now that we finally have good 5 view pictures.

Exhibit 2

There is only one wheel window on the top, and its connected to the smaller rearward facing windows, not further appart as in the fox photo, in fact if the ship was mirrored, that would be where the airlock is leading to the top of the ship, as used by Jayne in trash.

Exhibit 3

Look at the detailing towards the rear, after the ring and on the engine, hexagon shaped releif, pipes all over the place, the ring detailed with horizontal tiles.

Now look at the FOX picture, the ring is different, and the engine is very different, in place of the hexagones and pipes we have a smooth metal skin.

Looks to me like FOX wanted a pretty picture in advance of the show and they used a prototype serenity which hadnt been tweaked to full show worthyness.

I qualify that because every single one of my screen captures from the episodes the details match the 5 views and not the FOX wallpaper.

Thank you for your time.

Actually the airlock in this picture does not match the set used in Trash (and I believe OiS as well).

This picture shows that the airlock is on the starboard side of the ship in front of the dining area. This may be consistant with the interior hallway set where Book and Zoe pull Jayne down, as well as where Early climbs down in OiS.

The model picture has the airlock on the port side
and in the dining area.

But sometimes things like this happens when the script calls for something after the model/sets have been created. If you compare the hallway where Early climbed down to earlier episodes you will see that the ladder wasn't always there.

Just my 2 cents.
