Love Wash. Love his humor, love his shirts, love his hair. Wish he woulda worn the red sweater from Objects in Space more often.

I married me a guy who's a bit like Wash (and a bit like Jayne).

Can't ever get enough of Wash.

Do human beings get any cooler than that? I didn't think so.

AGENTRUSCO

Awww.... Wash. *snif*

He is my favorite. His relationship with Zoe, well, with everyone. He is usually happy and playful and boyish. I love his sense of humor and his unfailing ability to guide the ship right. I love how he is so honest, so vonerable. He is faithful to his wife and does all he can for the rest of the crew.

I am a big fan of his garrish shirts and his coveralls. I love all the things he can get his face to do. Huge smiles, looks of consternation, etc.

Every time I watch the BDM, I have to write a fic or make a wallpaper to show my grief or love... *Sigh* I usually shed a tear when I watch his passing. I usually cover my eyes and bite my pillow or blanket or whatever. It gets worse with each viewing.

I have constructed a costume like his. I sewed the patches he wears in the BDM to a drab coverall and I wear a hawaiian shirt over it all. It makes me unendingly happy.

Ah well, as my newest shirt says: "WASH LIVES" which hearks to Lord of the Rings and hope and all that.

So to end this melancholy post, I wish to quote our beloved Wash.

"We shall rule over all this land and we shall call it... This Land."
"I think we should call it Your Grave!"
"Ah! Curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal!"
"Hahaha! Mine is an evil laugh. Now die!"
"Ahhhh, no god!"

"...who can kill me with her pinkey!"

"Can we vote on the whole, killing people thing?"

"Here's something you can't do."

Kaylee: "Wash, tell me I'm pretty."
"Were I unmarried, I would take you in a manly fashion."
Kaylee: "Cos I'm pretty?"
"Cos you're pretty."

"Everyone knows I'm the funny one."

"Man walks down the street in that hat, everybody knows he's not afraid of anything."

"Here lies my beloved Zoe, somewhat less attractive now she's all corpsified and gross..."

"Oh god, oh god, we're all gonna die?"

and, of course:

"I am a leaf on the wind. Watch how I soar."

good day.

Now I am learning about scary.

Welcome, Raylos! We're glad to have you here! I hope you'll feel right at home among your fellow Wash fanatics. Oh, and I think there are fans of some of the other characters, too...

Seriously, great thread! I second everything said above. Wash is the greatest.

Hello, Raylos!

You don't know how happy this makes me. This thread is a perfect way to end the day.

I went to my friend's (and fellow Browncoat) house today and, of course, we watched Firefly. Tonight's feature presentation happened to be the pilot (as in the show's pilot... though we certainly viewed the ship's pilot, too; especially me).

We were talking about which characters we would want to play, who we would be good at, etc. I was pondering myself as Zoe when she said that the one scene I could never do would be from the BDM when she says "Wash ain't coming." My friend said I would lose it and bawl. And, of course, she's right.

Well, that was the end of it. I couldn't really enjoy the rest of the show. (Well, until the crazy Ivan scene... amazing Washness in that one!) I just got sadder and sadder, the more I watched the crew and the more I thought about the loss of our dearly beloved pilot. *tear*

This is a lovely thread to come to after that. It makes me smile.

Oh, how I love our Wash. Absolutely everything about him: the humor... the dedication to Zoe... the freakin' amazing flying skills... the unfaltering calmness while at the helm... the dinosaurs... the hawaiian shirts (and that red sweater! I second the notion that he wear it more often!)... the facial expressions (Alan Tudyk is one incredible actor)... everything. <3

Yes, that is correct (the website in the last post). I've been there before and it's a nicely done site. If anyone wants to know, there are some great wallpapers on that site, including some Wash ones. My favorites, though, are actually a couple of the non-Wash designs.

I love Wash. He is my favorite character among the cast and that's saying loads. I have never cried as hard during a movie as I did when Wash got killed in Serenity and I'm not one who usually cries at movies. I sitll tear up every time I watch that scene.

It's good to know I'm not the only one (pretty sure I wasn't). I had to wait for a few minutes after the movie was finished before I was together enough to leave the theatre.
