heya everybody!
It seems as though there are a few of us Browncoats that live in Sydney (Australia).

I was thinking it would totally ROCK if we all met up at Supernova when its in Sydney in October.
Summer Glau (RIVER!!!) will be there and it would be so shiny if we were all there in our browncoats and other firefly stuff so we can...well...scream and jump around and cry like teenie bobbers at a boy band show.
(embrassed cough)..hmmm, well, anyway it would still be a great opportunity to all meet up at an event that we'd probably all go to anyway!

(If you havent been to supernova before, its totally cool. A big comic, scifi, fantasy convention-y thing)

If that sounds like a shiny idea to you, please reply here, and we'll see how we go!

friend, all of the month of September! find, scrounge, construct and above all, be shiny! look for coats of a brown-ish colour (may or many not be on sale) and cunning hats!

Heya BornToFly,
It would rock if you could come! (jumping around in encouragment!)
Absolute costumes are not a must...just anything firefly/serenity related would be shiny.

i'll probably be trying to wear about 4 different things at once...(i have issues with making decisions)...

BernardBrowncoat...(this may seem like a crazy idea, but just hear it out. what if we...burn down the house??)

Oh yeah, this is gonna go great...

Supernova is on the 27th-29th of October weekend.

My HSC exams start on the 19th of October.

Putting my chance to meet my fellow Browncoats (and Summer of course) smack in the middle.

Gorram it!

Looks like I'm in for some serious time management issues...

I'll do everything in my (somewhat weak) power to be there, mark my words. I'll even buy some Browncoat swag too!

ah the HSC... goes blank with the 1000 man stare
oh! its the perfect way for you to show off your browncoat-ed-ness! your mission is thus; use examples of firefly in
(1) your major english essay
(2) your modern history essay
(3) your major art work
(4) your individual drama work
(5) miscellaneous other essays

that way heading to a convention would be futhering your studies what a plan! wish i'd done it!!!

And if you need something to do before
October.

Sydney Browncoats Unite!! And get the
DVD of Nathan (Our Captain) Fillion's new movie
SLiTHER. Coming to DVD September 6, 2006 in Aussieland.

Lots of Nathan extras on the DVD:

From the Director James Gunn's website
Quote:

- DVD commentary by myself and Nathan Fillion.

- Deleted scenes, including the infamous Grant Grant meat filing scene, Grant Grant's speech to Brenda about how he loves to be human, "Starla and the inchworm", and many more. All these scenes also feature commentary.

- Extended scenes, including the full porch scene between Bill and Starla, Kylie's more complete explanation of "The Long One," the full scene in the butcher shop with Grant Grant, and much more. These scenes also feature commentary.

- The Gag Reel -- in which you can see just a hint of how many takes Elizabeth Banks screwed up by laughing.

- "Who is Bill Pardy?" - this was a surprise we made for Nathan at the wrap party, in which the cast and crew essentially roasted him. I asked Nathan if he was cool with it being on the DVD, and he was... so... watch us brutally make fun of him...

- "The Sick Minds and Slimy Days of SLiTHER" - A very in-depth, very well done documentary on the making of SLiTHER, featuring the whole cast and crew. I honestly couldn't be happier with this thing.

- "Bringing SLiTHER's Creatures to Life" - a documentary on the prosthetics and CGI effects in the movie. Also wonderful.

- "Slithery Set Tour with Nathan Fillion" - this is the much longer version of the little bit you can see online here:

. At the end of this video, I say some of the crudest stuff I've ever said... and I can't believe Universal left it in!!

- VFX Progressions, from start to finish, featuring kickass music by The Raymakers.

- "The King of Cult: Lloyd Kaufman's On-Set Video Diary" - see the President of Troma Entertainment and the creator of the Toxic Avenger (and my old boss) find himself lost in the world of Hollywood with his cameo role in SLiTHER.

- "The Gorehound Grill: Brewin' the Blood" - a short how-to-make-your-own-blood-and-slime video.
