Thanks! That was great.

The audio seemed to be badly out of sync when I watched it, but for this clip it hardly mattered.

thank you ecgordon!
however I worry that this wonderful link is getting lost here at the end of this long thread;
don't you think you could post it in a new thread in the 'News' forum so that everyone will be sure to see it?

I don't think anyone wants to miss it!
edited to add: Oh I see it is at the top of Headlines, so no one will miss it....
never mind.

Gosh, Joss is soooo awesome. Like, he's the guy, that you know in school, who's always funny and witty and stuff, and you go to movies with and stuff, and you guys are always getting kicked out of theater because he's better than the actual movie. Maybe that was just a Terri experience, but he could write me speeches anytime. And I don't mean that in a weird way, I seriously mean he could write some speeches for me. I mean, I'd read 'em. Anyway, yeah Morena was adorable as usual, but why wasn't Joss there himself? I know that there's all kinds of WW stuff going on, but he's still writing that right? Oh, well, and casting. But that's not in the real go to stages yet, is it? Maybe he just got her to read it for him because he thought it would be funny with his words coming out of her mouth (the free girl line and all). Not that I'm sure he doesn't have better things to do. Or at least, more pressing ones.

Thanks for the edit, Shiny. I should have thought of that myself.

There's only one thing I thought was a bit weird in the speech. It must have been yet another joke, cause I doubt seriously Joss doesn't know the Hugo was named after Hugo Gernsback.

I would bet if DVD sales are high on the series and the movie, they will look at putting it back on the air.

Remember what happened with Family Guy? Same formula. Fox didn't know what was going on when their "less than popular show" sold over 3.5 million copies AND it was gaining popularity on a different network!

I bought my set. Keep those sales coming!

I wondered about that too...
after all it isn't like Anaheim is that far from where he lives...
he had indicated that he had finished writing WonderWoman ...so I'm hoping maybe they've moved into pre-production and Joss is wildly busy with *secret* casting and meeting w/people about costumes sets and all that good stuff....
(I want Wonder Woman and Goners to be made quickly, and be HUGE successes because I think that THEN we'll get our Serenity sequel!)

Maybe Joss was just trying to get Morena some more exposure leading up to casting her in a key role... (wishful thinking) ;)

Thank you FollowMal the coat fixs perfect. I've followed some of what we are planning on doing in the "is anyone here taking this seriously". Sounds like we are in a march to demand more of firefly (I like I like). I can only send emails or letters, but the letters won't get there in time. If anyone else needs to know, we are mailing Universal Studio's on September 30th and asking them for another movie (then we are going to try and hit up the TV network side and ask for more Firefly). Check out "Is anyone taking this seriously" topic for more information. Write down this address and post it somewhere so no one forgets :)

That is not part of the Event Team's plans.

The calling is not a good idea. That's just hassling and won't work. Not at all!

Hello MARINE ! ,

Happy to see you post here with your enthusiasm for the Campaign !

Where are you posted ? Camp L. , near I-L-M , or are you 'deployed' presently ?

Just curious , because you're thinking Uni-'Versal won't get your letters in time . Maybe if you send a letter by way of me , I can forward it by priority mail or something .

I am with First Marine Regiment, 5th Marines (1/5) which is currently on the 31st MEU. 1/5 is stationed in Camp Pendleton Ca. 31st MEU is stationed at Camp Hansen Japan (OKI). bad2verse asked the same question, why couldn't I get the mail there on time.

You are right bad2verse. Lets get on the same page. If we get some "exsample letters" out there so everyone can follow the same format with their own words in it, the message will be must more effective. Like bad2verse said, the first thing any busy person wants to read is the point. Let them know right away what it is that you are looking for. Second line...etc an exsample letter will be helpful for a lot of people, which will get us more people to support this effort. Post the address on your wall so you don't forget about it, having more then one email/mail won't hurt either. Sending late letters will get the point across if you add that into your letter as well. I am in Japan, deployed. My letter won't get their in time but they will get the point and that is what we are looking for. I agree once again bad2verse ( I feel as if I am sucking up to you, but I'm not) lets try to hit the TV networks as well. Because their was so many "new browncoats" after the movie was created (a lot of people didn't know it was a TV show), how can we advertise this a little more?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

It's SEPTEMBER 30th.. That should give it plenty of time to get there from Japan.. it usually takes less than two weeks to send/receive letters to/from my military friends in Iraq, Afghanistan, S. Korea, etc... So if you write early, they'll get it in plenty of time.

Coming from an Active Duty Soldier abroad, it'll carry a LOT of weight right now with the current "Support our troops" movement here in the states... be sure to include how your buddies LOVE it also ;) You may even wanna toss in some of that "For those of us deployed away from home, it's a welcomed diversion from reality for a few hours"... Hey, tug all the heart strings ya got at your Command Bro! It's a worthy cause... Airborne! (I know, it's "Semper Fi", but I gotta pick on you a little for that "Cross service rivalry" ;)

MANY of my Army and Marine Friends Plan to write from Afghanistan and Iraq, and Include a pic or two of them Watching the movie in their various compounds, THAT should carry some weight, and every little bit helps.

Your right my mail should get there on time. I am in a weird position here. I am currently with the 31st MEU in training at Camp Fuji, ironical they do not have any envelops here at the only PX on camp.

Their is other camps near by, so this normally wouldn't be a problem and there is no problem if you are a permanent personal here.

My unit can not go off of this camp. When I get back from the "field", I'll go directly on board the ship and head out. I have all of my things with me now, I won't get a chance to go to any other camp. I do not know if they will be a PX on ship.

I am counting on other Marines to be able to help me out, but I do not want to say I'll get any envelops for sure (I don't really see it becoming a problem once I get on ship, I've never been on ship before and I do not know how the mailing process is going to work).

The idea is, regardless of what happens, there shouldn't be a problem with sending in a late letter and I am only trying to encourage others. Life happens and just because someone might read these messages late, don't feel as if its too late to send a letter.

I understand where your coming from but I can not predict the future. That will not stop me from sending a few letters though.

By the way, when you are in Iraq all letters sent out are free, and they are priority mail. IF a letter was sent without priority from Iraq back to the states it would take two MONTHES for your family to get the mail. In Iraq our military is taken care of. No taxes, free out- going letters, among other things that is not topic related.

If I can not send letters right away because I am on ship, and I do not know if they have priority mail, then I can not honestly say that when I get on ship I will be able to send my letters and have them there by SEPTEMBER 30th. Keep in mind, I am at a differnt camp on a differnt island then the rest of my unit right now, I won't get on ship for another 3 weeks. That leaves me 5 weeks for my mail to get there.

No worries, they'll get the letters and we'll keep pushing for our goal. I encourage everyone who would like to see another firefly to help myself and everyone else support this "movement" regardless of their state of affairs. Bad2verse you were in the army then? Is that why the 3rd degree on my situation of when I can send out letters?

That was my response to him, sorry but it was a lot of typing and even more so with dictionary.com :) Spelling is not my strong point.
