Can someone give me an idea of the layout of the ship?

So, I was watching episodes last night trying to get the layout down, but I kept getting distracted and forget what I'm looking for!

I know that the bridge is up the stairs from the cargo bay and that Kaylee and Mal's bunks are after that. But I need to know where everything else is in relation to each other.

Thanks!

Mal: You know, you ain't quite right.
River: It's a popular theory.

Try the Serenity page at FireflyWiki.
http://www.fireflywiki.org/Firefly/Serenity
There's an excellent map there, and heaps of other information on our favourite boat.

Hello Canton Hero... we are practically neighbours - you being in Tasmania and me being in Melbourne, Victoria!

It's so shiney to see another Aussie on the site!

Love the Tassie Tiger in your logo!

Also there is something on the Special Features of the series that shows the layout - and maybe on the making of part of the film - actually the first 10 mins of the BDM is kind of a meet the crew and tour the ship - really well done too!

The best map of the ship I've seen is in the RPG book. Other than that the fireflywiki page that Cantonheroine mentioned is really good.

The diagrams in the RPG book are nice but are inaccurate in several areas. For the 'best' Serenity (from TV Firefly) deckplans, see the links below. I originally posted these in the Blue Sun Room long before the RPG book came out. Many hours of painstaking video-captures and Visio later... Enjoy!

Like Magdalena said, The Special Features part of the Firefly discs has a map of the layout and that's exactly what I thought of when I saw this thread. I think the map's in the feature about Serenity being the 10th character.

The maps posted here are really nice, too. I believe they have more detail. The one on the Firefly disc is interesting, too, because it has a different type of layout... instead of an aerial (spelling?) view, it's sort of a side-view, as if someone cut the ship in half. It's neat.

Where are the crew quarters accessed from? Fore passage, aft passage, or some other place on the ship? I can never tell where the hell they're coming from....

Crew quarters are those that are accessed on the way to bridge, coming directly from the Engine room... (Now, why did Indepentent try to come out?) you hit a passage. On the passage, on the right, is the way down. Go past it, and there's the crew quarters. Keep going a tick and you hit the stairs to the bridge. Of course, people like to go UP those stares instead of like, hitting them.

May not be smart, and it may not please you, but you're definitely gonna see what I have to say.

The crew quarters are accessed from the Fore Passage. Notice the five white squares between the black squares top and bottom of the passage? Those are the ladders and passages down to the crew quarters.
