TERRI

Um, yeah, I dunno if this is the right place for this, but I'm new here and I thought that I would just introduce myself to y'all. I'm Terri and I live in North Carolina, and while I call myself a Browncoat I have techinically only seen six episodes of Firefly, and of course, the BDM. I saw the BDM without ever having seen an episode of Firefly, and nontheless, when Wash died, I cried. Like a baby. And then I went on to ponder the futility of life and all that, and well, let's just say I wasn't feeling my best. I've stopped after seeing the last six episodes because there was a marathon of Firefly on Scifi a couple weeks ago, and I watched it, and I immediately joined every message board that I could find and immediately changed my wallpapers to Serenity and the crew, on my desktop and laptop, respectively. Anyway, I'm waiting to buy the series before I see the last of it, you know trying to draw out the awesomeness and all that. And also, I have to watch Objects in Space because (if I were a guy) I'd have a major hardon for Jubal Early right now (I'm already naming one of my future sons that). He's just so friggin' awesome! His 'am i a lion?' thing was so unexplainably cool. And I believe, I'm not sure, that I have an odd and slightly disturbing fascination with Zoe. I'm a HUGE fan of Xena, Star Trek, and a geek of the highest order. And though I like Buffy, I didn't like all the time she wasted on Angel, and yeah he was cute, but she got all fluttery when he was around. Ahem. Back to the point. Big Joss fan, the man has an imagination that goes on for miles and he really is 'my master now' (haven't seen the shirt, you really should). I can already tell I'm going to like it here, mostly because of all the shiny stuff hanging around, and all the awesome people. So, yeah, thanks, and that's it. Oh, and can somebody tell me where I can find a tutorial on banner making for sigs, and/or a fan music video tutorial? I've alreay got two great ones in my mind, and I'm raring to go. Oh and yeah, and I've got to find a con list or something for the East Coast. Oh and yeah (seriously, the last one), if you should want to find me on Yahoo, or something, then my screenname is xenite_one_2001. I'm always on chat, well, except when I'm at work.

Oh yeah.... welcome Terri

there's a lot of talented folks around that can help with with sigs, tags and the like... just not me... but, someone will be along to lend you a hand. That's the way things work around here. This is a very friendly place with friendly people who love the verse.

See ya around the board.

Ummmm... I am a guy, and trust me, no hardon over Jubal Early.

Welcome to the board though, Terri! Pull a chair up to the fire, grab a cup of hot joe (or herbal tea, spiced rum, diet coke, or anything else ya might find in the cupboard) and enjoy your stay!

Hello Teri and welcome. Some of your post has me confused. But then again several of the post here confuse me at times.

Anyway glad to have you aboard. If you don't mind my asking which eps are you lacking. You already have me a little envious. Wish I had more FF that I hadn't seen as of yet. For sure if you've seen Serenity and FF only once you're bound to go back for seconds. Grab some mudders milk and I'll see you in the galley.

Welcome Terri,

There are several Carolinians here on FFF. The ones I know of are PDCharles and Hisgoodgirl.

Anyway, welcome to the 'verse. I know you will enjoy it.

BTW listen to the commentaries on several episodes when you do get the BDS. They are fabulous.

TRAVELER

Hi TERRI:

I have the hots for Zoe to. I guess I'm attracted to independent women.

And I'm to old for River and Kaylee.

Inara is no push over but when Zoe hits that guy in the face with the butt of her rifle in "The Train Job" she got under my skin.

I have here only a couple of months myself but already feel at home.

OH! And welcome to this verse.

SAVEWASH

Now I am learning about scary.

Welcome, Terri! We're glad you're here and posting with us. (Sorry, I'm no help with the banner making or fan videos, but there are a lot of knowledgeable people here, so I'm sure you'll get good advice from them.) I loved your post--lots of fun. (I had about the same reaction you did regarding Wash, except I was more yelling, "NO!!!" at the screen than crying. I was in a funk for days afterward.)

We hope to hear more from you. Post often!

FLORALBUNNY

Welcome Home, Terri (#21719)
If you want high-order geeks you'll find a
few here, that's for sure. I'm more of a
"medium" myself, as you can tell from my
unadorned message frames.

I see that you've been offered some of the
traditional welcoming things. I always have
a batch of strawberries standing by, no matter
what I have to do to get them, so please have
one. Or more, but leave some for the next
recruits who show up.

RMMC went off to a party of some kind and left
me with the keys to the Cabinet in which is
kept the precious Tullimore Dew, so I'll offer
you a wee drop of that, too.

Buffet is in the galley, ready to be questioned!

Savor the rest of your FF discs but have no fear:
they can be watched over and over when you aren't
lending them out in your efforts (there will be
efforts, yes?) to convert more new browncoats.

The more there are of us, the better our chance
to get more 'Fly!

Thanks for all the welcomes. I feel like one of the browniest now. To answer a (sorta) confused look I got earlier over my comments about Jubal Early, I don't reckon that I find him sexually attractive. Wait, no, I do, but that has nothing to do with this. I just think his dialouge was unmistakably genius. He talked a lot, and it wasn't all gold, but I liked it. Um, and anyway, yeah, I'm gonna take it real slow to catch up on the eps, even though I'm buying the box set. Maybe I can make it last till the next BDM? lol, I doubt I'd make it that long. Anyway, I will definately take a listen to that commentary. I love listening to it, especially when it's something I really want to see. It always makes me feel like I'm watching it with the actor, or director, or whoever. Thanks, again!

Welcome Terri. My advice is whenever you get the whole series, don't jump to to eps you haven't seen. Watch the whole series over from the start. I saw it when it was on the air but got so much more from it when I saw it in order.

Don't you just love this party? Everything's so fancy, and there's some kind of hot cheese over there.

"No power in the 'verse can stop me!"

Welcome Terri!!!

This is such a shiney place - I was welcomed with open arms just a couple of months ago and there are some very real friends here already! We love hearing about new recruits and love sharing stories, insights and just plain drooling over the whole Firefly series, it's 'verse and it's BDHs (Big Damn Heroes - see ep: Safe)

I don't have a clue about anything technical - I just use the basic emoticons and Desktophippie kindly ...er...lent me the banner I fly below!!! But there are so many clever and shiney people here - you'll find someone who'll help you!

Hey Floral Bunny!! - I don't know my joining number... can you tell me mine please? just out of curiosity! Someone told me to hover my curser over my name on a post, but that didn't work for me so I wondered if you have access to that kind of info? Mwaaah

Love from 'Down Under' - Magda x x

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

Welcome to the site and the ranks of the Browncoats Terri. We're glad to have you here with us.

Definitely catch up on the rest of the episodes as it is the best sci fi series ever to grace the small screen, even if it was short lived due to a short sighted network.

Once you have finished watching the series, you can always rewatch it. I have viewed all of the episodes at least two dozen times and they never get old. I always seem to find new things I didn't catch before and still laughing right along at all of the one liners.

Of course now that you are officially a browncoat, you are under obligation to introduce the show to everyone you know. We need more new people to join the army and help to swell our ranks. The more new fans we get, the farther the word spreads. In order for us to have any continuance of the 'verse Joss has created, we have to have a hungry fanbase clamoring for it.

Take care and keep flyin'!

DESKTOPHIPPIE

Welcome! You are browncoat # 21,719

You have to admire the dedication of someone willing to name her kid after a Firefly villain! Just as you don't name one of your children The Operative. That could get pretty confusing at school.
