She lives here in Indiana with me, but is visiting her dad in New York. So she calls me at like...six in the morning, and this is how the conversation went.

Her: "What have you been teaching my kid?"
Me: "Bwah-wha hello?"
Her: "It's me, do you know what Christian just said to Maureen?"
**Christian is three, Maureen is my Sister's stepmom who nobody really likes.**
Me: "Do you know what time it is?"
Her: "She was just talking to him, and she asked him if he loved her better than his other grandma. *"
*Other Grandma happens to be mine and Sissy's mom, but whatever.
Me: "Well that's a rude thing to ask a little...anybody!"
Her: "No wait, just listen. Then he said, looking her straight in the face, "Sure, I got a secret. More 'en one. Don't seem like I'd tell 'em to you now, do it?"
Me: "Oh my God..."
Her: "AND THEN he walked away from her and said to me "Call me if anyone interesting shows up." And now Maureen is crying, Christian is laughing and when I ask him why he said that, he said to call Aunt Heather.
**At this point, I know I should be hanging my head in shame, but I can't, I'm laughing too hard.
Me: "Well, you see Badger said..."
Her: "God, you're awesome."

I had been watching Shindig when he came over, and that little section with River was what he watched when I was talking to my sister. He asked me what she said, so I told him a few times, and then never said another word about it. That was...I don't know, maybe Valentine's Day? Kid has a memory like a freak.

It's beginning already

Mal: You know, you ain't quite right.
River: It's a popular theory.

*wants to adopt Christian*

Serves her right for asking a kid that kind of question. "Do you love me more?" Sheesh!

You may also want to send Maureen a blue sun tee shirt to wear. You know. Just for the heck of it. I'm not inciting anyone to violence. I'm a hippie. I would never do that.

Right when I think that I still don't think that I like three year olds (long story involving horrid younger cousins) something like this comes along and gives me a bit more faith in the innocence of little children. Thanks for sharing this.

1:40 AM after a fraternity party is not a good time to make a signature.

It's just so gosh darn cute to see the little ones take to the 'verse. Maybe you can get some of his friends to watch too (though I don't think that'll endear you too much to his parents ).

LOL -- that is priceless. Cheers to you, for spreading to good word of Firefly, and to him for finding a *perfect* application. I can see why no one likes Maureen -- I mean, geez, that is a horrible, horrible thing to ask.

That is tooo cute! I love it-from the mouths of babes.
Warning-thread hijack occuring below.
Desktop Hippie I love the Coldplay sig, it seriously made me tear up. (I so love the Simon/River relationship) The lyrics are perfect with the pics you chose, it's wonderful. Have you heard of Athlete? Very similar in style to Coldplay. Go here (please) for a fanvid of River and Simon set to an Athlete song that is made for their relationship:

It makes me get all watery-eyed every time I watch it. Let me know what you think.

Great post? Or the greatest post?!

Wow. That's so cool. Though I'm not sure why she said the 'wow you're awesome' does your sister watch firefly too?
