Have you done anything lately to support the notion that folks ought to be left free to go their way? Big, medium, small - doesn't matter, so long as the cause is advanced.

Not talking here about fighting for the show or a movie sequel or anything like that (although those things do help). I mean making it happen in the real world.

[[]EDIT[]] Please also explain in what way the actions you describe advance the cause of freedom.

Piz,

Just so you know I browncoat every day. It's the third thing I do every morning. Get up, make coffee, kiss the wife, then browncoat. Or is it browncoat then kiss the wife. I'm a little groggy before that first cup

very small, but last everytime my mum drags me to the supermarket, I rearrange the DVD section, so that Serenity is sperad along the shelf that is at everyone's eye level. So, far, not been caught!

As I've said in a previous post... I put a Serenity decal in my cars rear window. I also wear a silicone BROWNCOAT bracelet... Like the liveSTRONG ones...just more important... and more browner.

Nice idea, excellent guerillia advertising tactic. me like very much. My method is a bit less imaginative. For me it has become a daily activity to get as many of my friends and work collegues as possible to check out the show. So far 100% success as three people i've lent the series to have each purchased the box set. Only last week i lent the box set to a friend of mine yet to experience the 'verse'. Anyhoo the other day he had some time to kill on a day off so decided to watch the first 10 mins of the pilot. He stopped watching at the end of disk 2! Unfortunatly he was supposed to watch the disk together with his wife (coupley quality time i guess) so she was a bit miffed when he told her he'd already seen half the episodes. Still, he sais it was worth it as he gets to watch them again! Mission acomplished.

Part from that just trying to say 'Gorramn' as many times as poss throughout the day. It is my one saving grace whenever something goes wrong during my day. 'I might of burnt my dinner/broke my car but at least i get an excuse to say the G word'!

'Poor little thing...never even got to see the light of day, now it's in showbusiness'.

Getting back to the original question of what Browncoaty things you do in real life to further Browncoat values:

I guess I stand up for fair dealings on eBay.

And I strive to produce an accurate medical record so that people can get the kind of care they need to get back to their homes and families in my "real job."

Not very exciting, but everybody has their part.

oooooh, methinks i misunderstood.

so, what we do in a spirit of allowing others to go about their everyday lives in a free-hearted kinda manner?

well, i keep on doing my job as a Nurse in learning disabilities, keeping our sectioned patients (i get to work in the FUN unit...) from doing anything terribly violent, and then i do my best to make sure they get as good a quality of life as is possible, then i go home and feel hard done by

edit:which allows everyday bodies to walk the streets unharmed (and freely... ) and my lads to live their lives as freely as possible, withing certain constraints...with freedom, and very freely. and free...erm...ness.

I have ample oppourtunity to Browncoat at work. I've already converted my boss, and we do a lot of business with China (all our products are made over there), so all the swearing comes in handy at times when they start pissing me off. They think I speak fluent Cantonese, and tend to be more polite on the phone.

I believe in solving problems, not sharing them.

I frequent mom and pop shops and I boycott Walmart.

I'm a pretty decent supervisor. (Don't hold that against me... once I realized where all THAT was heading I stopped the upward drift!)

I tell people what's on my mind straight up and listen when they do the same.

I don't cut people off on the freeway.

I stick up for the little guy.
