Hey all

I was just watching PULP FICTION again (hadn't seen it for a few years) and I just realized something that could be regarded as a theory on who Book was and his mysterious past.

Near the end of PULP, after Jules (the Sam Jackson character) has a case of divine intervention, he decided that after he delivers Marcellus his case, that he's going to quit and walk the Earth, "like Cain (sp?) in KUNG FU" and be on a personal holy mission.

Well I think that's who Book is. Book is the umpteenth re-incarnation of Jules, walking the Earth, meeting new people, getting into adventures and will continue walking until God brings him to where he's needed. It would definitly fit the profile.

Any takers on that theory?

"There's only one "Return" ok, and it ain't "of the King", it's "of the Jedi."

"Maybe we should start calling your friend 'Padme' because he loves 'Mannequin Skywalker' so much, Right? (imitating robot) Danger...danger...my name is Anakin...my shitty acting is ruining saga."

Excerpt of internet teaser for CLERKS 2.

Yeah - I think that's a good take on Book, although to be pedantic about it I would say he's walking the 'verse. And in the pilot, I believe, is the great scene with Inara as Book is shaken at possibly being on the wrong ship - but as she says, maybe he is exactly where he is supposed to be.

I believe that Book is the ump-teenth reincarnation of the Operative. I have to wonder if he knew who River was from the beginning. I'm sure he knew about the "school" that she was sent to. I think he knew who Mal was, though I can't be sure.

What is interesting is what Kaylee said about how he was looking at ships, not their destinations. Was he looking for Serenity? Or just trying to let God send him where he was supposed to be?

I like the parallel. I think it would be great to hear Book say at the Serenity dinner table, "No I ain't Jewish, I just don't dig on swine, that's all." Or how about, "Chinese, ta ma de, do you speak it?" Sorry, I love Pulp Fiction, what can I say?
