Ok, I hate to admit this because i hate reality TV and shows like American Idol, but i stomached the premiere of "America's Got Talent" last night on NBC. Anyways, there was this group that called what they do "shadow dancing," i think. There were two guys dressed up as pirates and a girl who looked like a gypsy dancing around to music with a little pony. anyways, they did this embarrassing little spaz dance that was supposed to be about a love triangle...involving the pony, but what did I hear in the background? I could have swore it was a slightly altered version of the song River dances to in the episode "Safe." They were dancing to it. I've listened to the Firefly soundtrack enough to know for almost certain that it was. Did anyone else see this? Is that song by Greg Edmonson, or is it an old song that has been around for quite some time that he re-did for Firefly? Eitherway, it was cool to hear. I love listening to that song on the soundtrack.

Yes, that piece is by Edmonson. However, it's very similar to a lot of other old-timey jigs and reels.

If you can watch even a few minutes of reality TV, you have a stronger stomach than me. In other words, I can't confirm or deny your sighting (sounding) of the "River's Dance" track.

Rivers dance Jig was music the Fox folks had the rights to already, Mr. Edmonson added his own twist to it it is one of hte few that is not an original piece.

Do you know the name of the jig? I've got a fair collection of celtic music; Id like to see if I've got other versions of it.

I can ask Greg Edmonson this weekend as he is spending it here in Houston with the Houston browncoats :)

Woohoo! Sounds great!

I'll be interested in his answer. The piece is credited to Edmonson on the soundtrack. The only music I've heard about that's like you described is the classical piece used in "Shindig" (the ballroom scene) -- that was in Fox's library and was modified for the show.
