Wow!!! Those episodes were good. Each had their own quality to them. Really enjoyed them. Don't want to talk plot since some of you haven't seen them. Boy, it sure makes me sad that Fox gave up on this wonderful show. Too bad there will not be any more regular episodes. :(

Cheer up weepy. :) I remain thoroughly convinced that we will see Firefly again in its proper serial form... and when we do, it will be entirely on Joss Whedon's terms, not subject to the whims of trash TV.

Whoo hoo! You said it Sarge!

I'm nowhere near giving up on Firefly yet. I just can't accept that a show this well done will stay off the air. I'm still 'supposing' about what plots and twists we will see in season 2 and beyond. Keep Flyin'.

I got a question about trash though. Why did the alliance outlaw the bobble head dolls. Was it just because they are evil or was there maybe another motive? Damn alliance. First they take away our freedom and then our bobble head dolls.

I don't think the bobble headed dolls were illegal. The crew of Serenity does legal stuff when it's available. They do whatever they can as long as it's their kind of ethical-- not always legal, just not what they think is bad.

They outlaw things that show home planet sprit, maybe these were bobble head dolls in commemoration of something that was form a specific planet. Like the way the Nazis outlawed that festival of giants celebration in France. (It was in France wasn't it?)

Damn straight we'll see Firefly again... to hell with TV... TV as we used to know it is dead... DEAD, y'hear me! Direct to DVD is the way of the future for genre shows. Screw the TV wasteland... use it for a few promo episodes then release the series as it was meant to be shown... without network interference, ratings and no freakin' commercials! Let the fans testify to the quality of the shows with their wallets... how many shows have gone down the tubes due to direct or indirect interference of ratings, huh? 10? 20? 100? Let's list a few... seaQuest DSV went down the shitter due to ratings... people jumped all over that first season UFO episode and because of those ratings, the whole 2nd season dove into stupid plots and continued down the toilet, until ratings, which had driven it in the moron direction in the first place, killed it for good. Star Trek was turfed because of ratings... so was Galactica... and Sliders... and Space: Above and Beyond... and Earth 2... and Dark Angel... and of course Firefly... how many others have to die until someone stops this madness?!?

There's my late night rant for the week... forget TV... nothing but reality crap these days anyway... send a whole season direct to DVD and skip the middleman entirely. I'll be in my bunk...

"Just remember... all success is illusion: what has really been accomplished is the displacement of an area of specific failure to somewhere else... or is it the other way around?"

In the episode it says that they smuggled the bobble head dolls past the alliance so i think either Christhesynic is right or maybe they have a high bobble head doll tarriff that somebody doesn't want to pay.

I managed to download last three episodes and agree the show was just gettting better & better. Living in South Africa , has its benefits in that our local broadcaster airs a lot of US tv programmes and we get to see most prime time shows albeit a few months later. FF is airing since April and last night we saw the rockin` Objects in Space. The word is that we will be able to see the THREE unaired episodes as well. That `s great news for the growing base of SA FF fans. Yeah, we have hope that FF will take flight again in near future..it`s just too great a show not to! Joss Whedon rockss!

Why did the alliance outlaw the bobble head dolls.

My theory, (for what it was worth). Ain't got nuttin to do with the goods themselves, but the taxes paid on those goods. Not paying taxes seems to get all kinds of governments irratated. But it do make the goods cheaper, or at least the profit margins bigger.

I finally saw the last of the eps that I hadn't seen, Heart of Gold (for some reason, the 800M download just stutters and freezes, on two different computers, and several different players, so I just grabbed the smaller one, and it worked...but anyways...)

So I just wanted to express the popular sentiment:
Fox Broadcasting Company: you suck!
I've still managed to NOT spend a dime on ANYTHING Fox has had ANYTHING to do with since they announced the cancellation. I encourage everyone I know to do the same.

HoG has become my second favorite episode, and as has been stated here more than a few times, the show just kept getting better and better.

Keep the faith, Browncoats. We're too pretty to die!

And if you work for Fox, here's where we hope to find you someday

Hi all. Long time reader, first time poster.

I saw the 3 unaired episodes over the weekend. I was brought back to the excitement I felt as Friday came around each week last fall. Each of these episodes were as wonderful as all of the previous episodes. From my perspective, and I can be rather critical, is that there was not dud episode in the bunch. Most great series have a few shows that don't quite meet the quality of the overal series. Not Firefly.

I am optomistic that Firefly will be on again. Just remember that the original Star Trek was cancelled after 3 seasons due to ratings and see where that franchise is at today.

I realize I am preaching to the choir, but I just want to keep the encouragment going. I thank all of you for keeping me informed over the last few months.

Don't argue with an idiot. They will only drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

Hello! I am new to this site, but certainly not to FF. I know of the three unaired eps, but can anyone tell me what "Dead or Alive" is? I see a script posted; is it a fourth unaired? Why does it have a number 1AGE06, this is the number for "Jaynestown".

Seren,
Not a clue about the number thingy, but Dead or Alive was a script that was written, just never filmed. Theories of why include: it ran to close to the 911 tragedy, it was too expensive to shoot, or it just didn't fit with what they were doing at that time. Hope that helps you out until another browncoat can fill you in on the number issue.

I had been holding off watching my last unseen episode but I could wait no longer. By sheer chance I left HOG 'til last and only found out the other day that it falls second last in the official order. What a fantastic show. We finally get down to some great emotionally revealing moments. The series, as it is, constitutes the most remarkable capsule of all the elements we could ask for. I hope they know at mutant enemy just how successful Firefly actually was. It is truly miraculous.

Everyone get ready to line up and hit me.

I finally got to watch Heart of Gold. I thought it was the weakest of the episodes BY far. It had it's moments like all of Josh's show, even the stinker eps have good moments. It was poorly cast, and in general boring.

Anyone else reminded of an A-team Episode?

I also don't think Inara's will she stay or will she go plot is very dramatic.

I should say that Heart of Gold is still Firelfly and better then anything on fox, because fox BITES. It also screams of a transition ep that was laying ground work for future eps we will never see, because fox STILL BITES. Still, even conceding these points it was not up to the quality of the other eps.

This is one woman's opinion feel free to verbally lash me.

Morbid and creep-ifying I got no problem with.

Ive seen "Trash" and "Heart of Gold" and have to admit H.O.G was a little weak however I still enjoyed it because it added more character developments:

Inara's upset was interesting because it showed she had deeper feelings for Mal than I previously believed.(hope she dont leave(is she in the last episode?))

Zoe wants a baby.

Jayne puts on a fancy shirt when he goes to a brothel :)

Book using a garden hose to squirt armed badguys........ that was one really annoying part.

I love Firefly so I can easily excuse a few weak scenes :)

Keep flying

P.S. I wish Bill Gates would become a Firefly fan and buy Fox networks SACK! the executives and mass produce more Firefly episodes.. Isnt that a pretty dream...

Consider yourself whapped.

It reminded me more of "The Magnificent Seven" or a lot of old westerns whereby a small group have to hire a gunslinger to keep the local bad guy from killing everyone.

I liked it, but your mileage may vary.

They say that Objects in space, is supposed to come after heart of gold, and at the beginning of OiS Inara says something like "I don't know why i haven't left already" (Of course she follows up with a complaint about how mal seems to avoid planets where she can work, - to me that seems to undercut the argument that the previous line was supposed to refer to HoG

There's a post around here somewhere, where Joss or Tim explain that when the episode order was changed that they did some tweakin' of OiS. Per-maybe-haps that scene from HoG was originally at the end of OiS?

Okay. Wait a minute. Time out. In the beginning of The Message. When they're on the space station. Jayne calls River a "mind-readin' genius". Yet in OiS, the revelation that she's a "reader" comes as a surprise to him. Just how much tweakin' did they do to OiS? Well. Crap. Rather than blowin' a blood vessel tryin' to suss this all out, guess I'll just wait for the official DVD's...

If you love firefly, and if it is at all possible, DO NOT DOWNLOAD THE EPISODES. Buy the DVD. Strong DVD sales brought back Family Guy and they could do the same thing for FF. It's all about proving to the accountants that there IS a market out there willing to put a not insubstantial amount of money into firefly.

I just recently found this site, and wish I had found it when Firefly was on air, but better late than never.

I bought the DVD set as soon as it came out, and have watched the episodes, then watched the episodes with commentaries, then went back and watched it with subtitles. I can't believe I've seen every single second on the set. I want more. As with everyone else here.

I found the comment interesting of just filming for DVD sets, since television is crap. I find myself watching less and less, and waiting for series I liked to come out on DVD. I wonder how fiscally possible this would be? DVD's aren't supposed to be too expensive to make. Who knows.

When it was on air I encouraged my brother to watch, but he didn't take the time. He has since bought the set, and I am waiting to hear his opinion on them. I am sure it was love at first viewing.
