I brought the book from amazon.com and it took me two days to read it.

It was similar to the BDM but with a little extra.

I like the book aswell as the BDM.

Me. I liked it cuz it ahd extras stuff and you have an in on the characters thoughts in certain scenes. Like how Jayne kept thinking about Zoe and how he liked a tough woman.

I bought the book at a local bookstore. I love it so much I'm on my second readthrough. The only reason it took me so long to read it was because I cherished every page of dialogue.

That is how it was written in the script for a while. The change came after the author finished the book for the origional release date (some time in April I think it was).

Joss must have gotten Mal and Nathan mixed up
for a bit.

Just like Gunrunner said, it was in the script.

Just checked my copy of Serenity Visual Companion
and the Nathan version of the line is in there too.

I've read it. There are a few changes in the script that annoy me, but for the most part I love it cause I can really bring Serenity everywhere I go.

KRAD's treatment of Serenity was the first 'book of the movie' I had ever read. He hangs out on the several Firefly sites, so if you happen across his path, be sure and tell him how much you enjoyed his work. Every artist loves appreciation of their work, even if they're too modest to admit it.

You might also consider buying his "Dragon Precinct" if you enjoy fantasy. I thought it was very well done (although I profess no love for fantasy, per se).

I enjoyed his treatment of "Serenity" -- although, again, I'm not a big fan of movie novelizations, nor for that matter movies adapted from great novels that I have read. It's odd, but I think movies are visually externally oriented, while great novels are about the internal struggle of the character(s), which can rarely be externalized with the same impact on a movie screen. And, of course, all the visuals in a novel are created in the readers' 'mind's eye'. Taking that vision to the big screen often disappoints, because different people will visualize physical aspects of the characters and scenery in a multitude of ways.

Such digression notwithstanding, I truly enjoyed the book; but not as much as my boxer, "Cobb" did. He chewed the covers off the book, and pronounced it, "Tasty!"

Culinarily,

zoid

I heard there's a scene in that where the Operative stabs Book and gives a little hint to his past.

Was that something originally in the script, or just something that the author added in?

She'll turn you in before you can say "Don't turn me in...lady..."
