I'm working on a Mal costume, but the coat is proving elusive so far. Anybody have any hints and tips where I might find one? Preferably suede, but I'm beginning to think I should take what I can get....

Most people find nice ones in thrift stores. Some show up on ebay from time to time. If you have the money you can get one from the actual makers of the actual browncoats used in the show--the link is in the Marketplace under FasionablyBrown.

Also, a cheaper version (not leather but cotton--still looks nice)

Someone did this for me once--nice to return the favor.

1880WesternWear.com has a nice selection of western style dusters that I think would work. I've ordered the Trail Duster Coat in walnut brown with corduroy cuffs and lapels, I think it looks like a canvas copy of Mal's leather one !!! They do have leather dusters and they will custom design ya one ... if ya got the money !!! Good Luck shoppin !!!

I wear a blaster under my Browncoat
