Why hasn't this been mentioned prominently? Surely someone else must have noticed?

The ever lovely, beautifull and grace incarnate Morena Baccarin will as appear as the big bad on season ten of Stargate SG1:

Excellent :)

(Only hope they don't kill her in the end!)

Anyone who doesn't want to have things spoiled don't click the link, it doesn't say much, but enough to completly reshape what I think is coming.

Well it doesn't say anything which wasn't more or less obvious from watching the last episodes of the season, but your milage may vary.

Well

Select to view spoiler:

given the fact that Arthur was set to return born from an unimpregnated yet very much pregnant mother and that there was an unimpregnated yet very much pregnant mother the explicit information given on the gender of that child came as a bit jarring. Doesn’t fit in with either prophesy or propaganda, which, in terms of Stargate, is a major twist. I mean when was the last time you saw an evil alien in Stargate that could have exploited people’s religious beliefs perfectly beyond all scientific tests, but fell short by a sex chromosome?

How is the show as a series? Is it worth catching up on?

One day.
One plan.

On June 23rd, we aim to misbehave.

The quality of the show is not consistiant, it ranges from good to near-Firefly-level. Yes it is worth catching up on.

Well its clearly not Firefly. An undemanding one hour sort of action romp - i mostly stick with it because its an old friend of the family by now :)

But Morena there will be good, now if only we could have some scenes with her an Lexa Doig then it would be interesting :)

Actually, it has been posted already... but it doesn't matter. There are some who probably missed the news anyway

I would say watch season 1-8 it gets better with every season, however season 9 wasn't that great IMO just isn't the same since Richard Dean Anderson left and their old eneimie is gone and the new isn't all that great IMO. Atlantis Though is definatly worth a watch has nothing but improved greatly in season 2 and hopefully season 3 keeps that stride.

I have to agree, I've got no problem with the new team member, or the new general but it isn't the same without MacGyver. It's still good, bit not nearly as good.

Only my opinion of course.
