Hi Succotash, apparently, you got that right.

As much as I want Firefly back on TV, and I can't even put in words how much I wish this would happen, it just breaks my heart to think that the fantastic Firefly would be airing on the same channel that boasts the following programming highlights:

Baywatch (aka the beloved "Boobwatch")
Turkey Call
VIP
HorsepowerTV
Most Extreme Elimination Challenge (I don't think I even what to know what that's about)

But then again, our little show did start out on FOX. So who do we think we are, anyway????

OK. I guess I might watch HorsePowerTV...

I've always liked horses.

And that Fox executive's comment about Firefly is truly one of my favorites: "it's in the future -- why are there horses?"

Geez. Maybe we should all move to France.

The show to acquire is "Firefly." Fox squandered it, and in so doing alienated a fairly large number of quite avid fans, myself included. It's got guns, space ships, lovely women, action, comedy, and (here's two novel concepts) a brain and a soul. Fox dropped the ball; it's time to pick it up and spike it! Good luck!

I'm sorry, but:
I don’t know how you spell Gentlemen when abbreviating, but seeing how Golf comes from the game of Kolf, a Dutch variation of a Greek game (brought thorough the Romans), I don’t think that whoever said that was what it stood for was thinking straight. (Then again maybe gentlemen does start with a ‘K’ I don’t speak Dutch.) Anyway we have the Scottish to thank for the change of the K to a G.

Regardless, I’m sure that they will enforce it in the same way that exclusively women’s entertainment networks do. They’ll play the worst programming conceivable, and assume that the only people who watch are doing so because they are like sheep and were told that it was entertainment for their gender, so they must like it.

I hope they put Firefly on, it could be the saving grace for gender entertainment. Well not really (they’ll still have the other shows), but it would still be a good thing for us.

Done. Best way to do this is to talk about the show, not about your feelings for it. Networks need numbers and statistics and specifics.

My comment:

Quote:

Posted on Spike TV
GREAT series called "Firefly" by Joss Whedon. A science-fiction format with overtones of Star Wars influenced by classic Western genre AND a ready-made fan base.

incidentally, something tells me any program with the word "Horsepower" in it on a Male-oriented channel probably doesn't have much to do with actual horses. more like the horsepower of the 1967 Corvette Sting Ray Convertible (that's 435, btw). ARR!

*Stands next to Succatash, BUT CLOTHED*

I wholeheartedly apologize for not finding a TV station that was accepting suggestions for its line-up which also did not offend and disgust not only the fairer sex, but most normal people as well, with its stereotypical display of what they believe "real men" want to see. BUT if it gets Firefly on the air and enough of a fanbase to get new episodes, then our sacrifice must be to support a network that feels "Showgirls" and "baywatch" are quality television.

Since I rather like real men, I'm willing to deal with whatever I have to in order to get Firefly back on the air. I have to deal with two to three Felicity commercials per break as it is in order to get my Nathan Fillion fix.

How's this--you don't need to apologize for Spike TV, I won't apologize for WE. Deal?

My point was that the network really doesn't need to see more than the name "Firefly." If they see it come across their posting board enough times, they'll get the hint.

ok so we have all agreed that the network is a pile of crap, so what what do you think fox is ? , perosanly they offend me a hell of alot more then somebody who shows baywatch 24/7

i dont care what network picks up firefly all we need is somebody to start handing caseloads of money to joss and co, if i had the money i would do it myself, besides im thinking even if you dont want to watch tv anymore theres bound to be atleast 1 person with the time to upload new epps to the inter net... no tv watching required

if it gets firefly back in production RUN WITH IT, we can work out the rest later... just get out there and send in your emails, what do we have to loose...

ok, I was at a mexican resturant on the weekend and there was this show on the tv in the corner that caught my attention.. it was like a live action version of a mario brothers type video game .. I think it was Japanese and I think it was called the "Most Extreme Elimination Challenge" anyways it was the funniest thing in reality tv I have ever seen ... the contestants (wearing helmets and whatever costume they thought appropriate) had to do obstacle course like challenges that were like segments of a mario bros world ... ie. running along a moving platform and having a giant ball swing down at you that if not avoided would knock you off into a big pile of mud and so on and so forth .. anyway, not ususally my type of thing, but very funny ... in a it's fun to see other people get hurt kinda way.

sorry for the ramble, am off to post my requests for firefly on Spike ..

Not trying to get too off topic...but yes, I've heard many many good things about that Japanese show and how it's hilarious. While I haven't actually seen the show itself, I was watching the previews and they looked pretty amusing anyways. It's all about people getting hurt in funny ways. WAY better than getting people to eat disgusting things. What's the fun in that!?

Anyways, I went to their website and told them that I wanted to see Firefly...hee. Yay.

Two things come to mind:

2.) I'm not sure I would like TNN to have ANY future rights to anything associated with Firefly, the proverbial "deal with the devil".
