Hi everybody!

I am new here and like to tell you about the musical project I'm doing with some browncoats and dedicated followers from a german forum.

I am austrian, musican and fan.
In the 90s, I was part of the star based fandom in austria and germany and did a lot of music about star trek.
This music was released on a couple of Cds and got around the world.
Anyway, I'm now working on some new songs about firefly and serenity. I dont know if there is any interest in that, but it would be fun to play the songs on future podcasts.
What do you think?

Right now, I have 2 songs to finish, one is called "serenity" (about the ship) and the other is called "River" (about her;)

ok, you guys let me know what you think about it and if there is any interest at all in the music of this musical project????

Well today I will post the first lyrics of the first four songs:

The first one is in german (spoken words) but I will give you the english translation, written and translated by Kessie:

The song is called in german: Unsere Crew-Serenity

means in english OUR CREW-SERENITY

Kaylee is not afraid of oil and dirt
through her hands every part of the ship works
With her way she makes Serenity and the Crew happy
and you can´t buy such qualities with money.

River is a bit crazy
But reavers dont like her at all
cause if one ever comes near the crew ( oh no)
she beats them into a pulp

Mal clearly is the captain
but it seems he doesn´t know much about love
the war made him bitter
but he´d never leave Serenity

Jayne poses as the hard man
and owns nearly all kinds of weapons
But you have to be carful with him
since a lot of money will make him betray and sell you

Simon is from the upper class
but doesnt notice Kaylee´s love ( for him)
He is busy watching his sister
and known for being a good doc

Sheperd Book is a real preacher
but he also kills knee caps
everything around him seems to be a mystery
will Joss ever solve all that?

Wash flies the Serenity
He never could stop loving Zoe
But plastic dinosaurs are also his life
and he likes to fly through the space in hawaiian shirts

Zoe is a strong woman
who always knows what she wants
She survived the war at Mal´s side
and also found Wash there ( while being at Mal`s side)

Inaras job has its own style
and Mal doesn´t like it at all
its impossible for her to tell him her feelings
because soem secrets that she has should stay in the dark.

Ok the second song is written by Kessie in english and its called:

Happened not too long ago
when we were in outer space

they like to eat all kinds of races,
and probably even real trash.
Like to torture and rape,
and more you can´t imagin`
you better try to escape
before they get your skin.

Well, for the first song in german. The german words are dubbed versions of lines the actors said in "serenity".
The Chorus " Unsere Crew -Serenity" means in english "Our crew-serenity" I sing "Unsere crew-Serenity - Firefly away!!" Thats all.

und soll noch dazu ein passabler Doktor sein

Sheperd Book ist ein echter Prediger
doch auch Kniescheiben erledigt er
um ihn herum ist alles ein bischen mysteriös
ob Joss das alles jemals löst?

aufhören Zoe zu lieben, könnte er nie
Aber auch Plastik - Dinosaurier sind sein Leben
er liebt es in Haiwaiihemden durch den Raum zu schweben

Zoe ist eine starke Frau

Well, first of all, thanx for the very nice replies!

I hope you listen to the other song as well even when its in german;)
Anyway. I could think about the idea writing a special song for this day.

Maybe we cann make a poll here to ask all people here what they would love to hear:)

Do you have any ideas?

I'm just finish the two other songs and I will post them at the end of the upcoming week. I think you will like them too;)

Hi Djini!

I definately will! Its lots of fun to do a project with people you dont know and to work together in a creative process over the internet.

Sending mp3s to each other and get the right combination of sounds and ideas is a very big challange for me and I think for all of us.

I dont know if the browncoats needed these songs to be more happy, but for me I am happy enough to give Joss and his Crew something in return for his great work he did on both stuff, the series and the BDM serenity:)

I just came across this thread and have now heard the four musics whose links you offered, so here's my opinion.

The first I heard was the Reaver one. And it was very nice. Well, as nice as any song about Reavers can be (lol). Good song, good music, very fitting.

I don't understand German at all most times but I liked the musicality of this song, especially the beginning, which reminded me a bit of Edmonson's music for the series. A bit too mainstream in parts, considering the kind of music you could find in the series (or even the movie) but I liked it.

I really liked River's song, especially when you intercuted certain lines from River in there. Very eerie.

And though, overall, I enjoyed Serenity, I have a problem with the chorus. I love the beginning, I do, and the flute, but when we come to the chorus, not so much. It kind of reminds me of a boyband, and that's not an image I really want to associate with Firefly.

Just my two cents. All in all, thank you all for your hardwork in these songs. It's great to see good musicians dedicating some time to this great 'Verse.

I'm looking for brief musical clips (20-30 seconds) for use in EVN Firefly, my mod for EV Nova.

Would you mind if I use brief clips from your stuff here and there? It would have to be music-only, no vocals, for the portions I use. And it would need to be reencoded at lower quality, unfortunately.

If you said yes, I would of course give you credit, and add any link you ask for to the readme file.

If you give us the credits:) its no problem!

Maybe we have to think about doing a CD for the hardcore fans to get our songs in the best sound possible.

A lot of people ask about it and I am not sure, if there is a place to do a Cd for other fans.
Because we dont wanna make business with that.

But there would be an idea, to produce a CD with our songs and then get them sold by the podcast crew or someone and give all the money for a new charity. Maybe there is an interest.
we are just talking with a nice girl who offered to do a website for us, so maybe we can get enough response to support our goal to bring firefly and serenity back.
