I've been working with very sweet woman from Regal Corporate to set up
our venue for the screening. She suggested I post her contact info for
those who are still looking for a theater in their area. She's aware
of our efforts and would like to help, if she can.

FWIW, be sure you also DO check around, because often local/independent theaters are pretty gung-ho about special events.

Which is not me saying NOT to go with Regal. Just to make sure you shop around/compare

I'd also like to point out that, in my experience, Regal theaters tend to be some of the best screens around. In this area, at least, they have stadium seating, comfy chairs, and outstanding projection and sound systems.

I saw Serenity on the big screen (embarrassingly large number of) times, and all but a few of these were on Regal screens. That was no coincidence. The other venues just didn't stack up.

In fact, my one regret is that my very first viewing was at a really lousy Showcase theater. It just happened to be the one closest to work. Some of my Browncoat co-workers and I played hookey the afternoon it opened. If I'd known how bad the Showcase was I'd have waited and gone to a better theater, but... oh well.

I don't disagree on any particular point.

One other thing: A corporate chain like Regal also, you'd assume, would like the PR of being a good corporate citizen. If you try to work something out with Regal, and you're haggling over rental fees, make sure they know that any theater/venue, idependent or chain, who participates, WILL get included on the eventual big list of thank yous which will go up on the Can't Stop The Serenity website.
