WHOOPS

I got one song that reminds me of Firefly i have no idea why it does but it does its called;

At The End - 16 Volt

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Love. You can do all the math in the 'Verse, but you take a boat in the air you
don't love, she'll shake you off sure as a turnin' of worlds. Love keeps her in
the air when she oughtta fall down. Tells you she's hurtin' 'fore she keens.
Makes her a home." Mal

lmao, WashburneFan beat me to it with Highwayman :)

Also, "Behind Blue Eyes" by The Who after I saw Kayna's new wallpaper.

(And for some odd reason, "Stuck in the Middle With You" by Stealer's Wheel. Heard that on the radio and it made me wish I had the equipment to make a fanvid about Simon :)

Ditto to that, it never crossed my mind until I saw her shiny pic. Kayna rocks like that!

I had a song remind me of Firefly today, Danny's Song. This may sound nuts, but stay with me here.

There's a line:
Now I see a family where there once was none,
Now we've just begun,
Yeah, we're gonna fly to the sun.

Come on. Well, I see it. Mal's full ship flying free.

That and the whole song applies to Simon and Kaylee and their future together.
It seems a little hokey, but the radio in the car got left on the light rock station.

Besides, I see Firefly in most things anyway.

"...once you've been on Serenity, you never leave...you just learn how to live there."

My brother sent me a song called the "Manualist Concerto" he made while jamming with some friends. The song has guitar, saz, and an eastern influence. There's a guitar riff about halfway through that reminds me of the Firefly soundtrack. I was amazed, until I remembered that my brother watched Firefly with the guitar player, who was really impressed with the music. I don't know whether or not he intended to emulate the Firefly sound. For anyone interested:

BROWNCOAT1

May have been the losing side. Still not convinced it was the wrong one.

It's funny this thread came up because I was going to post it today.

I have heard this song several times this week & it really reminds me of Firefly, especially the episode "Out of Gas". The song is "I'm Your Captain" by Grand Funk Railroad.

I know that some of you younger browncoats have probably never heard of the song or the band, but trust me, these lyrics were written almost as if for our favorite captain and ship.

Here are the lyrics:

Everybody, listen to me,
And return me, my ship.
I'm your captain, I'm your captain,
Although I'm feeling mighty sick.

I've been lost now, days uncounted,
And it's months since I've seen home.
Can you hear me, can you hear me,
Or am I all alone.

If you return me, to my home port,
I will kiss you mother earth.
Take me back now, take me back now,
To the port of my birth.

Am I in my cabin dreaming, or are you really scheming,
To take my ship away from me?

You'd better think about it, I just can't live without it.
So, please don't take my ship from me.
Yeah, yeah, yeah ...

I can feel the hand, of a stranger,
And it's tightening, around my throat.
Heaven help me, Heaven help me,
Take this stranger from my boat.

I'm your captain, I'm your captain,
Although I'm feeling mighty sick.
Everybody, listen to me,
And return me, my ship.

I'm your captain, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. (x 4)

I'm getting closer to my home ... (x 4)
Ohhhh ...

I'm getting closer to my home ... (x 4)
Repeated to fade

Now tell me that song doesn't all but scream "Out of Gas"!

I wish I was computer literate & knew how to make a video for this song. It seems an injustice NOT to do a Firefly fan vid to this song. I can see the video in my head, I just have no talent or knowledge to make it.

SERYN

that fit, that really does.

Ah.

The one I was going to suggest, though only on the basis of its title, not sure how the lyrics would apply, was Elton Johns 'Captain Fantastic and the Brown Dirt Cowboy'

Mal and Jayne anyone?

Hodgins: Your robot reminds me of you. You tell it to turn it stops. You tell it to stop it turns. You ask it to take out the garbage it watches reruns of Firefly.
FozzieWash, You know what I always say: sometimes you're the windshield, sometimes you're the bug!
KermieMal, I never Know what the heck you're talking about.
FozzieWash, Hey, look! They're sending us free lumber!
